Grist, Voracious Larva won't trigger
I played Grist, Voracious Larva as my commander in brawl for the first time. And his trigger didn't work.
- I had Grist in my graveyard
- I returned another creature card from my graveyard to the battlefield (btw it works if I return Grist himself)
- Grist's trigger didn't show up, even tho it should have triggered
- using 'full control' didn't work and the same issue in the second match
- played him in Historic/Pioneer before and he worked just fine
- could have been something to do with him being the commander but I'm not an expert :/

Grist has to be on the battlefield to trigger that ability. Because it can function while on the battlefield, it can ONLY function while on the battlefield. It triggers for itself being returned from the graveyard, because such triggers are checked after the event, at which point Grist is on the battlefield and can trigger. For anything else, it either has to enter alongside Grist from your graveyard, or Grist has to be on the battlefield already to see it enter.
