Creature effect triggering when your life total cant change
During a game, I used "Flare of Fortitude" to make it where my life total couldnt change. He attacked anyway, did no damage, yet his "Starwinder" effect still triggered. I didnt think it would since, well, My life total cant change so that prevents damage. Or so is my understanding.

Your life total cannot change, but you can still be dealt damage. This is different from being dealt no damage, and different from preventing damage. Damage is dealt and then processed into its results, according to the rules (CR 120.). That result will be changed to 0 life loss by your effect. But everything that looks for damage to you will see damage being dealt to you.
