pyrokinesis/thalia
my opponent had thalia in play making my noncreature spells cost one more, when i tried to play pyrokinesis using the alternate cost by discarding a red card it still required me to play one mana as if it was taxed by thalia howevcer it should be free because i dont need to pay the mana cost at all with the alternate cost

"Without paying its mana cost" really only means without paying the mana cost. The mana cost is ONLY what's printed in the upper right corner of the card. Additional costs and cost increases are NOT covered by that. Meaning, Thalia's cost increase is not covered, it's not part of the mana cost, you have to pay the 1 mana.
