i cast final show down for all its cost. the 1st states all creatures lose abilities, but when it destroyed (3rd cost) earthbend lands they returned to the battle field from the graveyard as lands. this defeats the purpose of the `1st cost then

Earthbended lands do NOT get an ability to return when they die or get exiled. So no such ability can be lost. When earthbend happens, it also sets up a delayed trigger that returns them. That delayed trigger is waiting for its trigger condition, and may wait all game long without it ever happening, but is there nonetheless.
