splash portal fails to draw
when casting [Card: Splash portal] targeting my (otter token) the portion of drawing a card from the resolution of splash portals "If that creature is a Bird, Frog, Otter, or Rat, draw a card." doesn't happen. unsure if this is a bug or my misunderstanding of the rules of when the spell checks what creature type the creature is. But it was my understanding that it checks all the way up until the resolution not after the resolution. If it did wouldn't it use the last known information about the creature that was exiled?

From Splash Portal's official gatherer rulings:
"If a token is exiled this way, it will cease to exist and won't return to the battlefield. You won't draw a card even if it was a Bird, Frog, Otter, or Rat."
The reason being, that the game looks at the returned creature's type, not the exiled creature's type. If no creature is returned, like a token, then there is no creature to have a type and nothing to reference for LKI, since the exiled creature is not looked at in the first place.
