Skyward Spider Flying Bug
I just played a standard match where I tried to use Wall Crawl (which gives +1/1 to all Spiders) and Skyward Spider. The ability of Skyward Spider is "This creature has flying as long as it's modified." I already had Wall Crawl on the field, giving Skyward Spider +1/1, but she did not gain flying until I used Restorative Technique to put another +1/1 counter on her. She didn't even gain flying after casting Grow Extra Arms ("Target creature gets +4/4 until end of turn") on her to try and defend from a flying creature.

Wall Crawl does not put counters on anything, neither does Grow Extra Arms, it's just a temporary buff. Your Skyward Spider was still unmodified.
Not every +1/+1 or -1/-1 happens with counters. In fact, the majority of such effects do not use counters. Only the effects that specify counters, use counters. That Restorative Technique is a case in point.
