autotap issues
I'd like to complain about the auto tapping issue that made me lose two games out of three in an expensive planar cube draft. The first instance was I tried to cast radiant flames by first adding three red mana to my mana pool, intending to do radiant flames for 1, which would have killed nearly all of my opponent's creatures except my own. But instead, the game tapped an extra two lands of different color to cast the radiant flames for 3, killing my creatures too. Why couldn't it have used the mana already in the pool? The second issue arose from tapping a land that was granted the ability to draw a card every time it becomes tap. But instead of using non draw lands, it tapped the forest which had that ability, causing me to draw from a zero-card library, while other non-draw lands were available. I would have been able to win that turn without drawing. Each time I would have needed to do a manual tap to avoid drawing from an empty library, couldn't the auto tap realized that it would cause me to lose the game and chose different lands (i.e. give a warning like in many other instances).

You CAN deactivate the autotapper in the settings menu, in which case Arena will only display a suggestion on how to pay. You can then manually pay the way you want, using each mana in your pool and each available mana source as you see fit. And when the updated suggestion after each selection aligns with your goals, let the autotapper handle the rest.
