Possible Bug - Soul Warden & Life Gain Triggers Stopped Resolving During Ranked Match
Hello MTG Arena Support,
I would like to report what appears to be a gameplay bug that occurred during a Ranked match.
My opponent was playing a Green/White token deck. They had Scute Swarm and Anointed Procession on the battlefield, creating a large number of token creatures.
On my battlefield, I had Soul Warden, Cleric Class, along with several other creatures and permanents that trigger whenever I gain life. I also had creatures that receive +1/+1 counters whenever I gain life.
Initially, everything worked correctly. As my opponent's creature tokens entered the battlefield, Soul Warden triggered, I gained life, and my other life gain payoffs—including the creatures that receive +1/+1 counters—resolved as expected.
However, after several rounds of triggered abilities, the interactions suddenly stopped working. Specifically:
Soul Warden stopped giving me life when creatures entered the battlefield.
My creatures that should receive +1/+1 counters whenever I gain life also stopped triggering.
My opponent's token generation from Scute Swarm and Anointed Procession continued to function normally.
The game continued, but my life gain engine never resumed for the remainder of the match. Fortunately, I was still able to win because Cleric Class helped keep me alive long enough to finish the game. However, this bug significantly impacted gameplay. Had my life gain and +1/+1 counter triggers continued resolving correctly, I would have been able to end the game much sooner. In a Ranked match, an issue like this could easily result in a loss and negatively affect a player's rank.
I have attached the game log for review. My opponent's in-game name was Idtapthat.
If there is any additional information I can provide, please let me know. I believe this issue could have a significant impact on Ranked play and Events whenever large numbers of triggered abilities are involved.
Thank you for taking the time to investigate this report. I appreciate all the work your team does to support MTG Arena. I enjoy playing both MTG Arena and tabletop Magic, so I wanted to report this in hopes of helping improve the game.
Thank you,
ChaosReigns

Your opponent reached their Arena token limit of 250. So no new tokens entered, thus no new life gain triggers, either.
