Creature with when dies deals damage to any other target text
Blocked a 3/3 with a 4/4 after it died it was able to deal damage to same target when card explicitly stated other target

You probably misread the card. Because dealing combat damage and dying to it has nothing to do with targeting, so the "other target" makes no grammatical sense. Can you give the name of the card?
