Scroll of Isildur is Bugged
While playing Brawl, my opponent played Scroll of Isildur. The first chapter triggered, “gain control of up to one target artifact for as long as you control this saga”and my Dragonfire Blade was taken. When the saga completed and was sacrificed, my artifact never returned to my control. It remained attached to my opponent’s creature for the remainder of the match.

Changing control of an equipment does not make it unattach from the creature it's attached to. To do that, the controller has to use the equip ability or some other means to attach it to a different creature. An equipment CAN be attached to a creature you do not control. The equip ability can only target a creature you control, but attachment to a creature under a different player's control by other means or circumstances is possible. All you had to do is use the equip ability of your Dragonfire Blade to attach it to one of your creatures.
