Doubling Season doesnt double
Doubling Season doesn't double loyalty counters gained from activated abilities of planeswalkers
In order to recreate just play the doubling season and any planeswalker, activate it's activated ability.
Actual result: activated ability causes the gain to stay the same as if there was no effect that changes it
Expected result: Doubling Season should cause the activated ability of a Planeswalker to add twice as much loyalty counters as it is printed on the card

Adding loyalty counters to planeswalkers is a COST not an effect. DS only cares about EFFECTS adding counters. Hence why planeswalkers enter with double the loyalty counters, because it is a replacement EFFECT adding those counters.
