Duplicate protection triggered for FRA when it should not have
I have been opening FRA packs that have been triggering duplicate protection when I do not have 4 of every rare yet. This started happening after I had at least 1 of every card in the set but I do not have 4 of each of rare and mythic. Yet duplicate protection is triggering instead of giving me missing cards. I would really perfer the missing cards. Thank you.

I'm experiencing the exact same issue with Reality Fracture (FRA) booster packs.
So far, I've received 20 gems instead of a rare card on seven separate occasions, despite my collection still being incomplete.
At the time I took my screenshots, my collection showed 224 out of 256 rare card copies collected, meaning I was still missing 32 rare copies.
What's particularly strange is that some FRA booster packs still give me missing rare cards, while others give me 20 gems instead.
The game also displays a message claiming that I've collected all rare cards from the expansion, which contradicts my collection progress.
I'm attaching screenshots showing the 20-gem reward, the completion message, and my incomplete rare collection.
Could the development team please investigate this issue and confirm whether duplicate protection is working as intended?
Thank you!

I've had this happen twice now as well. Still missing 26 rares from Reality Fracture.

It happened again ...
2 boosters and I dont have all 4 rares yes. This game and the support team is a shame... they only answer generic messages (using copy and paste) and they dont even read my messages. At the end they request us to create a topic here, that nobody from their team is reading it. This should be full priority. Users are spending real money and we are receiving those fcking gems

I bought multiple booster to complete my FRA and YFRA colletion and was also hit by getting gems. Basically I have traded 200 gems for getting 20 multiplied by ca 20 boosters. I have spent real money on the gems.

Is anyone even listening? What's the point of this site if no one even bothers to respond to the bugs reported here?

Same issue here. Not happy about turning 260 Gems into 40 Gems on a Mythic pack when I'm not even 1st copy complete and missing 30+ total

Same issue happened to me yesterday. I think I know what the bug is. If you are rare complete for echoed pair rares, but not rare complete for normal rares, and open a pack that is supposed to contain an echoed pair rare, you will get 20 gems instead of being given a normal rare from duplicate protection.
Context:
I am rare complete for all echoed pair rares, but still not rare complete for a bunch of normal (non-echoed pair) rares:
Ajani's Anguish
Draconic Visitor
Kindred Judgment
Master of Barbs
Pompous Battlemage // Improvised Act
Rise of the Deathbringer
Sanctum Lurker
Shipwreck Marsh
Simulacrum Shaper
Sphinx of False Conclusions
Stinging Vitriol
Theorist's Proxy
Theorist's Sanctum
Vraska's Final MercyI opened a pack yesterday which contained 20 gems instead of a rare (see attached screenshot).

This is happening to me as well, and honestly, I'm furious.
You can see on the attachment. I opened 3 boosters, which should have given me 3 rares or mythics, but I only got 2 rares and 20 gems because one of them was a duplicate. This has happened to me at least 4 or 5 times during this collection, and I'm starting to feel like I'm being cheated.
I'm so frustrated that I'm done opening packs for this set. Honestly, if I hadn't already spent money on the Star Trek collection, I would seriously consider quitting MTG Arena for good.
I've completely lost faith in the MTG Arena development team and, frankly, in Wizards of the Coast. How can we trust a game that changes something this significant without clearly communicating it to players beforehand? It feels incredibly shady, especially when people are spending real money expecting a certain value in return.
And don't tell me this was buried somewhere in the terms and conditions. If a change like this was intentional, players deserved a clear, upfront explanation — not to discover it by losing value from their purchases.
At this point, I honestly feel misled by a game I've invested both time and money into. Wizards of the Coast needs to explain exactly what changed, when it changed, and why players weren't clearly informed. **This is completely unacceptable.**

Same problem, 2x20 gems when I'm still missing 60+ rares, very frustrating

I think what's happening here is that the server will occasionally choose a "bonus sheet" rare or mythic for the regular rare slot in the pack. If it does that, and you're rare (or mythic) complete for the cards on the bonus sheet, it will give you gems instead of a non-bonus sheet card of the same rarity. So basically, the game chooses a card pool for your rare slot and will *only* give you a card from that pool. If you have every card in the pool, you get gems, not a card from the other pool like you should.
This happened to me for the first time yesterday. I got 40 gems and no rares or mythics in my pack. I still need 32 mythics from the set, but I do have 4 copies of all 6 mythics from the bonus sheet.
Please fix this. Or, at the very least, acknowledge the problem. It's endlessly frustrating to post bug reports on this site only to have them disappear into a seeming black hole.
