Japanese UI shows Rush of Dread on the stack in a wrong way
I was playing MTG Arena under Japanese locale.
My opponent cast Rush of Dread, a spree sorcery with three modes. On the stack, MTG Arena showed me its first mode in light blue and second and third modes in ordinary black. Two targeting arrows from the spell were both directed to me. So, I considered my opponent chose the second and third modes. (Note that all three modes target "Target opponent".)
I was wrong.
MTG Arena first moved my only creature on the battlefield to my graveyard automatically (this must be the action for the first mode) and then instructed me to discard three cards (this must be the action for the second mode; I had five cards in my hand then.) I didn't lost my life.
So, my opponent chose the first and second modes, and MTG Arena showed me the spell with the first mode in light blue and the second and thrid modes in black. I consider the Japanese UI doesn't represent the mode choice correctly. I have never seen Rush of Dread on the stack under the English locale, but I guess MTG Arena shows the first and second modes in black and the third mode in gray if it is English. I believe this Japanese locale behavior is wrong.
(Note that this bug may be related to another bug on Three Steps Ahead, another spree card, in https://feedback.wizards.com/forums/918667/suggestions/49553648)
Steps to reproduce the bug
- Run MTG Arena under the Jaspanese Locale (Adjust Options > Graphics > Locale > 日本語 (Japanese). You may need to exit and restart the game for the change to take effect.)
- Play against a deck containing Rush of Dread.
- Keep playing the game until your opponent casts Rush of Dread with the first and second modes.
Platform
PC (Windows 11 Pro 24H2 build 26100.3194)
Actual results
On the stack, the first mode is in light blue and the second and third modes are in black.
Expected results
On the stack, the first and second modes are in black and the third mode is in gray.
Relevant screenshots/videos
See the attachment. It is the screenshot of the moment that my opponent cast Rush of Dread (戦慄の奔出), choosing the first and second modes.
Please also pay attention that all three modes of Rush of Dread are packed in a single paragraph. I filed it as a separate bug in https://feedback.wizards.com/forums/918667/suggestions/49217225
Workaround
I don't know.
