I've cancelled in finding before to go grab something to eat or use the restroom, and then the next match I join is on turn 3, the opponent has 2 creatures out, and I have 8 cards in hand and the timer is halfway down on my turn. If you already paired me in a match you shouldn't have allowed the 'cancel' in matchmaking. Resulted in an autoloss, lost out on potential gold and cards in historic event.

I've had games go 10-30 seconds in 'finding' while I click CANCEL like 40 times... and the game goes ahead anyway. Then I have to Quit and I lose rank. Effed up.
OH, and you don't do anything about it. Wizards doesn't reinstate a lost 'pip' of rank, they don't adjust W/L. So the player just wears it, and the TIME lost. Super ******.

getting this annoying **** too really annoying to hit a button that says cancel only for it too still put me in to a match,and fix that **** with it not working b4 a match

Cancel button doesn't work when in queue. First I hit it multiple times and nothing happens then I entered a game about 20 seconds later. Next time I tried, I couldn't cancel and I was stuck on the queue screen forever with no way to exit except to force quit. No game ever loaded and cancel button wouldn't work

I've been experiencing this issue since I started playing MTGA one year ago. Button recognizes the click (sound and visual click) but no response. It does work occasionally but only 10-15% of the time.
There's no gear loaded, so no other way to concede or exit without shutting the game down completely.

2 years I have played this and the Cancel button is still broke.
It may be the poor way that the developers did the distributed processing in Unity , but whatever reason,
Wizards of the coast Must know about this is broke and have not fixed it.
If you wait for a game more that 30 seconds, the cancel does not work and I must reboot.
Why fix it? We still give them our money.

Probably the issue happened as I went to sleep mode on MacOS with the game still running. Upon awakening the game prompted the normal reconnect message which seemed to work. I started a QD game, waited for about 40s when nothing happened and the game froze. I force quit MTGA and restarted the game. The game started in queue mode but the cancel button didn't respond. I force quit the game again, logged back in and found a loss. After that everything was back to normal again.

20minutes in wait and cant cancel we have cost this game almost 100k players because of their bogus wayand their heavy pay to win attitude but this is truly unacceptable that you cant even cancel a gamee, pls all ppl that start this game stop and go for a more fair game and more stabel game

Same issues here. Takes ages to find opponents and cant cancel anymore via the button. Then have to hard restart the game.

Apparently game makes the match but fails to begin game, leaving both players stranded for some period of time. Almost every match has this issue to some extent. This happens a lot and has been an ongoing issue with the game for more than a year. It is frustrating to users, but MTGA does not seems to care enough to address this issue.

After waiting for almost 5 minutes, tried to cancel the queue in a premier draft to do other stuff. The cancel button does nothing

I look for an opponent for a match. It takes forever, doesn't find anyone. The cancel button doesn't work.

While in matchmaking for at least standard, I am unable to cancel out. Alt tabbing out and closing the program does not cancel me out of the queue either. This was an issue before but was fixed. Has been a while though....

Much of the time when I hit cancel, it finds an opponent immediately--it's sort of a "maybe cancel, but mostly expedite finding an opponent" button. And yes, it still occasionally does nothing.
