jjkobx#79606 Has it perfectly. Same issue as me and a friend

My new problem is that when I initiate a Friendly Brawl direct challenge my friend receives a 60-card deck challenge, so there is no way for us to both select Brawl decks (and the challenge gives us a deck type error). I guess I'm just done with MTG at this point...

I am having this same issue along side not being able to send friend requests or receiving requests. Following all the supposed work arounds and nothing is working.

you can easily workaround it by making a copy of the deck you want to play and turn it into a friendly brawl deck
direct challenge your friend and choose the deck copy and there you go
if you dont know this is how to challenge your friend in direct challenge vvvv

This is still broken but a friend and I have a work around.
Click on the crossed swords icon for direct challenge and select historic brawl for your format. Have your opponent do the same.
Select the deck you want to play.
Click away from the challenge and open the friends chat. Challenge them from there BUT make sure you change the format to historic brawl. The deck you chose previously should be auto-selected. Click challenge. Friend accepts and you should get a loading screen with your names and avatars but your deck box will be the missing image placeholder art.

Hope this helps until wotc figures it out.

Really unacceptable that a key mode for playing the game is unavailable for 2 months due to something as simple as not being able to select decks.

Even still, this is a constant issue. My friends and I very much wish to play brawl decks against eachother, but are completely unable to due to the deck-type selection issues.

same issue.. can't pick brawl and when I tried to use the swords to do a direct challenge and type in the username it just freezes. multiple devices having this issue (PC & iPad)

I find it odd that Wizards has not said anything about this or even responded on this "idea"...

Hi Everybody,

I have the same bug in direct match when I challenge a friend.
We are unable to select the deck we want, they are considered as invalid.

This bug happen each time there is a new update, it should be good to do something to avoid it for the next update.

It is just a shame not to be able to play the "mode" of the game that we like with our friends.

It is absolutely shocking to me that after more than a month you are still unable to direct challenge people to games of 100-card historic brawl online. Completely unacceptable - get it sorted Wizards!

They don't care about us brawlers... we don't use enough wildcards. =P
