unable to submit deck friendly play
hi, i tried playing a friendly game between me and my wife and it keeps saying unable to submit deck, i just played on monday with my wife and had zero issues it seems that this new update has messed with our accounts pretty bad. please fix this i greatly appreciate it

how the **** does a game company ignore a bug that makes tournaments and community events fully impossible for over 4 years? how incompetent can a dev team be to not even give us a peep of an answer as to the progress towards this bug getting fixed?
for god's sake, the last time we've heard from anyone at WOTC about this bug was three years ago, and it was a customer support copy-paste reply. i'm in utter disbelief at the lack of communication.

Please fix this! I can't make new friends on this app because there is no way to do so, so at the very least I would like to play magic with my current friends (who live all over the world). As far as I can tell this bug is some 4 years old? please please please fix this.

Happening to me as well for weeks So annoying, no workarounds seem to work. I play almost all my games via direct challenge and friend challenge, and this basically stops me from playing and DEFINITELY stops me ever spending money again on this game. How can a company this rich let this go on for this long? Bafling

Having the same issue. Historic Brawl, and Historic. Very disappointed with the lack of actual game updates, as this has been a issue for a long time.
The store is ALWAYS working though lol.Brawl feels like it isn't supported at all, which is wild because that / commander is SO profitable.

Whenever I try to initiate a standard challenge with a friend, the system will take me to deck selection, I’ll select a deck, the system will say “waiting for server”, and then it will say “unable to submit deck”. I’ve tried on an iPhone and on Mac, while a friend was either using an iPhone, windows pc, or android device.

Among friends and other users, we have the recurring, intermittent error that we cannot play Direct Challenge matches against friends in our friend list.
Bug Description:
In a Direct Challenge, the "Waiting for Server" spinner upon clicking play (after deck selection) lasts longer than usual (normal is < 500 ms), usually around 3-5 seconds.
Then a popup informs **"Network Error: Unable to submit deck. Try again later"**.Frequency:
This bug occurs persistently, and has begun occurring in the last 2 weeks. At least one of (us) four players appears to be affected on any given evening, for the majority of that evening. More people seem affected, see reddit.com/r/MagicArenaReproduction:
1. Challenge a friend on your friends list to a direct match, Bo3 or Bo1.
2. The error occurs after Deck Selection. If it doesn't occur, it may be possible to play a number of games without encountering it. Once it has occurred once, it will keep occurring.Observations:
The bug does NOT affect normal Play Queue and Ranked Queue.After closing the "Network Error: Unable to submit deck. Try again later", popup, MtG Arena is in a broken connection state afterwards, and generally requires restart to play even non-challenge games. The UI may present as if choosing another deck is possible, but it won't work. Sometimes, you get the "Reconnect" dialog for connection loss.
Once the bug has occurred, for a reasonably long amount of time (hours, not minutes), it is impossible to play direct challenge games on the affected computer. We have, so far, not been able to successfully play a single game including an affected player on the same day.
The next day, it may be fine. It may also have been fine earlier the same day, often up to the very moment of first failure.
This bug can occur in 3 flavors:
- Challenger experiences the bug (other player will be in Waiting for Opponent screen until forced draw, cancel button does not work)

The logs themselves don't say much - literally just "Timeout" after the Social Component mentioned the incoming challenge request.Stuff I can personally confirm/reproduce: This exact bug keeps recurring for at least 4 users so far, on very different systems. Likely many more are affected, just look for "unable to submit deck" on reddit.com/r/MagicArena . I can say that all our computers and major or mid-size ISPs are in Germany, and although I use 1.1.1.1 as DNS, the others use their ISP's default DNS. (We assumed this to be some sort of routing issue.)
Workarounds do not seem to exist:
- Router restart doesn't help.
- Computer restart doesn't help.
- Restarting Arena doesn't help.
- netsh winsock reset and ipconfig /renew /all won't help.
- selecting a different deck does not help, in fact, a deck that was perfectly fine to play may encounter the bug just as well, and then be no longer able to "Submit".
- windows firewall reset won't help
- superstition remedies such as resetting sleeves or avatars do not help, regardless of what people on Reddit claim. (there may have been a bug in the past that had this issue) -

Hey guys,
For about one week my friend and I have been facing issues playing together. One is getting a network error, while the other one gets "cannot submit deck" or some bogus error message. It used to work for 8 months and we were playing almost daily. We tried the troubleshooting steps with the network setting and whatnot but nothing. Playing against randoms is working and playing against other friends is fine too, just not my wife. Can we please revert to a version that didn't break challenging friends? -

1. Give us the steps to reproduce the bug - Getting "Unable to Submit Deck error" whenever trying to challenge friend.
2. Note which platform you’re using - PC and mobile
3. Enter the actual results you’re experiencing - The game will show "Disconnected" afterwards.
4. Enter the expected results of the feature - able to challenge friend for match
5. Add any relevant screenshots/videos - Refer attachment for screenshot and logs
6. If you found a workaround, please add workaround steps. - No workaround so far.

I am having the same issue. I mainly play one friend who is across town. We will be able to play the first 6 - 7 games with no issues and then the “network error - unable to submit deck. Try again later.” message appears and the fun is over. We have not found a work around. After I get this message I am disconnected from the servers and have to reconnect. I am still able to play all other modes of the game, just not direct challenges with him.
I, too, have spent a good bit of money recently on this game, choosing it over physical cards because of the convenience. I would really like to make good use of my money spent. -

Network Error Unable to submit deck after 11 pm every night on w10,w11, android, and Steam. also tried different networks. Verizon and infinity.
steps, select a friend to play, select deck, and submit.. after it gives an error nothing works in going to the store or opening packs until you restart the game and repeat. Looks like this only happens at night and my girlfriend only plays at night. Been going on for about 2-3week after the update -

Same issue....was actually better for a few days, but then they must have re-broken it.
Well done guys. Top notch programming. I'll bet all the parts of the game that give you money are working just fine though. I'd give all my skins AND start spending money on your microtransactions again, just to have the game deal me a straight, purely random hand that didn't have three out of four of one specific card in the top ten every two or three games, but I digress. You guys are killing it......and not the good way.
Anyway, here's the log file for the trainwreck that was my girlfriend and me relaxing for some Magic this evening. Thanks again.

Lately a buddy of mine has had this issue. Some days we can play, other days we cannot. Now I've gotten hit by the unable to submit deck bug. I primarily only play against a couple of buddies, but if that is no longer possible, due to the developer ignoring a bug that is several years old, I don't even see any point in playing this game. Which burns especially since I've actually spent real money for cards. At this point, I feel like the developers could be held liable for a possible fraud lawsuit.

We have been trying to play a friend match but it never works, it says something about the network not working. I am on IOS mobile and my friend is on PC. None of the formats work when attempting a friend match.

When I'm challenging a friend, even when he challenges me, I can't submit the deck in order to enter the match. It's says "waiting for the server" and after more then 10 second "network error".
My network works fine, my mate uses it. In his screen it shoes as if he entered the game (his name and profile picture) and he is waiting for the opponent.
