Algorithm Improvement
I'm sure you're getting a lot of complaints about how one-sided your algorithm is not being impartial and often times screwing over players with land draws that should not be happening in a purely random sample - so my complaint can be added to that pile.
But, an idea for changing the algorithm to improve randomization would be having the program assign a number to each card remaining in a deck and pile shuffling the cards into X amount of piles (let's say 6). It can repeat this process Y amount of times then take the middle of the pile and put those cards on top. A better template would be from the card shuffler for poker sets from stores.

Paired against mythic players while I was in platinum just because I only needed one more win in quick draft. This was followed up with a game where I had to mulligan twice to even get a land and then drew all lands. Why does Arena force people to lose?

Every time I build a new deck on the first playthrough, it's always a loss. I'd like to understand why? Above all, opponents are assigned who have decks suitable for defeating my deck in its first game.

Standard 60 deck with 24 lands always starting with 2 lands. The average is 2.8 for a 7 draw, but you would have thought you would occasionally, if not mostly start with 3.
Standard 60 deck with Elesh Norn Mother of Machines X3, never comes out of the deck. I've played 30 matches without ever seeing it. -

On going land issue. This has been going of for four days. 6 matches this morning. Deck has OVER 1/3 lands and can't get out more than 3. Opponents have between 5-8 at this point. Ridiculous. My deck is running a 2.71 ratio on spells...makes no sense. All my decks are running land heavy and all experiencing the same issues. This game is ruined with this ****.

asking if I enjoyed the game is redundant as your shuffler is broke asf , it why you have issues with player retention. The opening hand isn't the problem it is the lack of any kind of real world physics you are missing. Mana flooding one game and mana starving the next is what's killing you , and a good/bad hand can be easily changed by what gets drawn in the next few turns. Work on that and get rid of the hand smoothing mistake. Seriously though if a 16yr old can create a better shuffler based of rolling a d100 100 times why cant you guys come up with something better.

Mulligan to the same hand, always the same cards when starting.
Every day!!!, I have 2 copies of white sun's twilight in my deck, which are in each of my hands in each game for a week now. and if I mulligan again they are there AGAIN, sometimes even two together.

For a bunch of smart people you really are pretty dumb, The issue with the game is not the opening hand. It's what happens after that's the problem. Any experienced player can tell you a bad opening hand is nothing, but sitting with only 3 lands in turn 12 or 16 card land run ruins the game and since you introduced hand smoothing that is more the norm. All hand smoothing has done is provide an exploit for mono aggro decks and still doesn't fix the problem. So what are you doing to balance the game? how do you plan on balancing the exploit for those who don't play mono colored decks? You need to stop trying to figgure out how to ****** players into throwing money at the game and work on the quality of the game. Then players will be throwing money at it and you dont need to be slick about it.

The land, lack there of is ridiculous. Within the first 5 moves I have 4 pieces out. This has to sustain me for the match, as no more land arrives. Meanwhile, my opponent has 10 pieces. I have 45 lands/ 74 spells...absolutely ridiculous.
2/3 matches this land draw has been an issue. What gives? WTH is the work around. Never in my life, have I had a land draw issue like this with in person game play.

Explain how this is better than purely random.......I'm f****** waiting......anyone....?

Suggestion to WOTC
Mana flood, draught - hire some statist to suggest you some healthier random amount of variability in land arrival. It makes your wonderful game a lot of times something, I hate.
1st case - I am mana dry or flooded: I am bored, as I do nothing and can do just pushups or do some other stuff. I am not playing.
2nd case - Opponent is mana dry or flooded: I am bored, as I do not play, just attack him, or wait.=> solution
1) You can improve mulligan - let me change not whole hand, but individual cards -> much better starting hand and therefore experience
2) Other draw mechanics, that can be applied to your paper format too.
a) Player didn't draw land 2-3 rounds - he has option to play basic land he had put beside main deck before match started.
b) Player draw 3rd land in a row, he can draw and put lands to graveyard until he finds playable card.Basically anything would make this game much better. Mana flood and draught are painful experience to have or to see others to have.

I was in the 3-2 bracket of a ranked draft and I got paired against the number 125 ranked player. There's no way a player lost two matches and is still ranked 125.
Also, this is a terrible inefficient way to report bugs.

HOW is it possible that this game is used for legitimate competitive events!!? It should not be statistically possible for me to get three out of four of one specific card, within the top 8-10 cards of my library, more often than once every....I don't know, I'm not great at statistics, but -- that's the thing, I don't NEED to be to know that it shouldn't happen every two to three games, which it ABSOLUTELY does. And that is NOT an exaggeration. I've played hundreds of games of Magic over the table and I don't know that I've EVER had that happen...MAYBE once or twice. What this game does for "shuffling" is a joke. I wrote better randomizers in QBasic in 1994, with no formal instruction, using nothing but the help files within the software to guide me. It CAN'T be THAT hard to do.
I literally can't understand why ANYONE, especially the developers, would want the game to be this way, or why anyone would play in this format when money was on the line in any context. I have not spent a single dollar of my own money on this game for a very long time now, and refuse to unless this is fixed. There's simply no reason why I should ever get three out of three Idyllic Grange lands in my opening hand. It's getting pretty boring -- basically getting ****** off every few games when I see how ridiculous the situation really is. When it works against me, I get destroyed and when it works out in my favor, it doesn't feel like a genuine win, because it's not realistic. Seems like it would be in your best interest to do SOMETHING....but based on how long it's obviously been a problem, I'm not optimistic... It's sad, because, otherwise, this would be my favorite format.

First of all, this game is a slot machine. Nothing about it is random. If you play it even a few days a week, you will be able to accurately predict what you will draw based upon your opening hand.
In the opening hand you have a 85% chance of getting 2 lands in your hand. Its either 2 or 4. especially in B01
After that, if you have 2 lands and you have several of the same cards in your hand. You will 80% of the time, get mana screwed. If you have 2 lands and you have a variety of cards, you are going to get mana flooded. Doesnt matter what deck you play or your mana base.If you have 4 lands, the "randomness" or rather coding changes. You will still get clumps of the same cards, whether those be destroy all creatures, or search your deck etc. you will get multiple of them with in a few draws. but it gives the most "random" as far as land draws goes.
But overall, this is just a slot machine remember that. You click "Play" and its just you pulling the handle. Whatever the algorithm and coding decides you get is what you get. No skill, no luck, no smart plays. Just whether the coding some intern programmed will decide if you win or not.
