Algorithm Improvement
I'm sure you're getting a lot of complaints about how one-sided your algorithm is not being impartial and often times screwing over players with land draws that should not be happening in a purely random sample - so my complaint can be added to that pile.
But, an idea for changing the algorithm to improve randomization would be having the program assign a number to each card remaining in a deck and pile shuffling the cards into X amount of piles (let's say 6). It can repeat this process Y amount of times then take the middle of the pile and put those cards on top. A better template would be from the card shuffler for poker sets from stores.

This is just unacceptable.

I was in the 3-2 bracket of a ranked draft and I got paired against the number 125 ranked player. There's no way a player lost two matches and is still ranked 125.
Also, this is a terrible inefficient way to report bugs.

HOW is it possible that this game is used for legitimate competitive events!!? It should not be statistically possible for me to get three out of four of one specific card, within the top 8-10 cards of my library, more often than once every....I don't know, I'm not great at statistics, but -- that's the thing, I don't NEED to be to know that it shouldn't happen every two to three games, which it ABSOLUTELY does. And that is NOT an exaggeration. I've played hundreds of games of Magic over the table and I don't know that I've EVER had that happen...MAYBE once or twice. What this game does for "shuffling" is a joke. I wrote better randomizers in QBasic in 1994, with no formal instruction, using nothing but the help files within the software to guide me. It CAN'T be THAT hard to do.
I literally can't understand why ANYONE, especially the developers, would want the game to be this way, or why anyone would play in this format when money was on the line in any context. I have not spent a single dollar of my own money on this game for a very long time now, and refuse to unless this is fixed. There's simply no reason why I should ever get three out of three Idyllic Grange lands in my opening hand. It's getting pretty boring -- basically getting ****** off every few games when I see how ridiculous the situation really is. When it works against me, I get destroyed and when it works out in my favor, it doesn't feel like a genuine win, because it's not realistic. Seems like it would be in your best interest to do SOMETHING....but based on how long it's obviously been a problem, I'm not optimistic... It's sad, because, otherwise, this would be my favorite format.

Not even joking but not even 1 game after posting this...i drew my opening hand of 3 lands, 3 boardwipes and 1 mana rock...
But hey no clumping and this rigged BS game is totally random....
Hope you guys use indeed to find new programmers, cuz the ones you got now are terrible. Glad i havent spent a dime since this trash heap came out. Wont see another dollar from me here but ill gladly play free to play till you guys cant afford it to run it anymore. Cuz its the only way i can help destroy this game -

First of all, this game is a slot machine. Nothing about it is random. If you play it even a few days a week, you will be able to accurately predict what you will draw based upon your opening hand.
In the opening hand you have a 85% chance of getting 2 lands in your hand. Its either 2 or 4. especially in B01
After that, if you have 2 lands and you have several of the same cards in your hand. You will 80% of the time, get mana screwed. If you have 2 lands and you have a variety of cards, you are going to get mana flooded. Doesnt matter what deck you play or your mana base.If you have 4 lands, the "randomness" or rather coding changes. You will still get clumps of the same cards, whether those be destroy all creatures, or search your deck etc. you will get multiple of them with in a few draws. but it gives the most "random" as far as land draws goes.
But overall, this is just a slot machine remember that. You click "Play" and its just you pulling the handle. Whatever the algorithm and coding decides you get is what you get. No skill, no luck, no smart plays. Just whether the coding some intern programmed will decide if you win or not.

FIX THE **** SHUFFLING! I quit Arena just over 2 months ago because of WotC's support of the BS VML league. I come back and the shuffling is even worse!
(Pics included) I have 24 lands, 18 creatures, 18 non creatures in my deck. I drew 17 cards: 10 lands, 5 non creatures, and 2 creatures. How the **** does THAT happen!? I drew almost 1/3 of my deck and got 2 creatures when almost 1/3 of my deck IS creatures. FIX YOUR ****!!

Can you please do something about the ******** algorithm...
I've played magic since beta and I play arena a fair amount. When I'm running 4 brushland, 4 overgrown farmland and 4 razorverge thicket, why is it that the vast majority of my games start off with double brushland???
I understand the odds involved and what is a likely outcome, it's not even close how frequently this occurs, like 60+%
really sucks losing to the standard "red deck wins" all the time, and don't even get me started on that. WoTC is so braindead, like seriously shake up the formats and stop making the same architype decks every single block...
That's all :)

I'm assuming since the original post in 2020, this has totally fallen on deaf ears.
Ever since they've grown into a big business, they are just interested in the bottom line, which I totally get, but that's at the sacrifice of the enjoyment of the game for those who choose not to go the paper route at game shops ($$$$). Wait, do the game shops review each of our decks at the door and then pair us up with others who THEY feel would give us the best competition :)
This is the reason I quit hearthstone, the matchmaking/card draw algorithm was so blantant and obvious. I'm just about there with MTG Arena which HAS gotten more blatant over the years with their very own algorithm. It's really a shame because I enjoyed this game while it lasted. MTGA r.i.p. :(

Real ******* cute matching me against easy-win ******** with decks full of mythics. I'm obviously not going to win these matches to elevate my standing. These smug ************* think they have skill. Give me those cards and let's play. Match people with what they have in their decks, and allow typing custom messages so I can confront these smug ************* and let them know that its a cheap ******* win. I'm sure you understand how to match power levels. If you have a ******* brain.

Constantly lose at least 6 out of 10 games due to the SHUFFLER! It DOESN’T WORK! There has to be an algorithm that works better than the current one or at least put an icon on the screen that players can use to reset the match or end with draw within the first 5 rounds. It doesn’t have to be perfect but it needs FIXED it’s VERY frustrating.

MMR system needs a complete redo.
I take a break from the game for 8 months, come back and I am bronze ranked. Immediately I am put against silver, gold, plat, diamond, and mythic players. I do not get matched against players in my rank nearly ever.
So I get to enjoy playing high MMR games, while feeling like I am complete trash at the game because I am only in bronze. When it reality, your MMR is completely separate from your rank and has zero relation to it.
Either change it so your MMR is displayed and you ONLY play against those within +/- so many MMR - OR - change it so you at least aren't playing against people outside of you rank (ex. Bronze vs. Bronze, Diamond Vs. Diamond, etc.)
I'm done trying to enjoy ranked when I am put up against top 200 mythic streamers when I am a stay at home dad.

Entire games with zero drawn mana.... in a mana heavy deck. Then there are games where well over half the draws are mana.... of the same names in clumps because the algorithm doesn't shuffle properly!
It's even more apparent in draw or scry decks just how clumped the cards of the same name are.....

How is it possible that every saturday and sunday i easily fly through mythic rating and then during the week i lose every single game? Dogshit programming, this game isn't competitively viable AT ALL. Fix your matchmaking or fail. Period.

Based on what I have seen on this forum and your lack of responses, it is very clear Wizards of the Coast or whoever cares nothing about the customer's enjoyment or experience.
I used to love this game. it was the best way to relax and allow the mind to have fun, but after returning from a small break from playing it was a completely different experience.
The deck shuffling and dispersion of land have now made this game completely unplayable. I have tried every formation of a deck, and I have tried playing decks that were constructed by the game. In any circumstance the deck is shuffled so only 1-3 lands are dealt the entire game or land is all that I am dealt.
I have pleaded with your company to address this and heard no response.
So I am taking a break from Magic, and sadly, perhaps I may try again to see if things change, However, my current level of frustration and WoC's lack of care inclines me to just say good riddance to a malfunctioning product.

Your land distribution is absolute garbage. If I put less than 25 land in a deck I only get what I draw at the beginning of the game, AFTER I mulligan because the first two pulls gave me one land, if I put 25 land in the deck I start with 3 and by turn 7 have 9.

Why the **** is it that, as soon as I choose to play Mono Red, I am immediately and repeatedly paired with ******* ANGELS?!!?!
I NEVER see the **** Angels deck, when playing any of my midrange range decks. Yet, it never ******* fails, the moment I choose to play Mono Red, that's all you all pair me with.
**** YOUR STUPID ******* ALGORITHM, WIZARDS!

A card game that requires proper shuffling Shou have proper shuffling.
It's easy to tell with draw or scry decks that your shuffling algorithms are disgraceful trash that has a pattern of putting same cards together....It's blatant and makes the game less enjoyable.

The Card shuffling system needs to be updated, no matter how many times i edit it seems my matches consist of TOO MANY manas, or nothing but cards, Also how you know its bad when I have only 1 type of a creature card but some how get it in every game but other cards i have 4 of i never see, and ive test it out with friends, we can go over 10 mins without seeing the other half of a deck, it seem like magic is favoring cards I have other card I want to play!
Overall the Shuffling needs an overhaul why have 100 card deck if you you wont see half of it because
