Sparky stuck in "Hmmm."-ing out turn - Need a way to force Sparky's play
Bug: As of 9/7/23 Sparky is stuck in "Hmmm."-ing on their turn to play. Is Sparky teaching roping as a valid strategy now?
Situation: Sparky has any number of cards or even no cards in hand. It is Sparky's first main phase. I am in a winning position just playing cards to try to get to test a new card in my 100-card singleton deck. Sparky Hmmms for ~ 17 minutes, then I get the victory screen. Sparky doesn't even say "You got me!", such a sore loser! This happened today against Sparky's Blue, Black, Red, White, and Green decks.
The reason this is bad:
- Roping is bad enough vs. humans. It is no fun at all vs. Sparky.
- Getting a Time Out victory when testing a new card in my deck is not good. I may not even draw the card before this Analysis Paralysis state kicks in.
- The current timer is way too long to wait to have a game simply end.
- The only way to end the match is to drain my device's battery for over 15 minutes or to concede the match. Yuck.
Solution: We need a way to force Sparky's play.
Ideas:
- Set Sparky's turn timer to 15 seconds: Once time is used up "thinking" a play or pass decision is enacted
- If the player emotes "Your go" a number of times (maybe 3?) before Sparky has played, a play or pass decision is enacted
- Fix the code that has Sparky getting stuck in the first place.

When playing arena I usually play the bot as I might be busy and not have enough time to play a one:one match. Recently the bot on both Android and windows had been crashing part way through the match forever stuck in attack while constantly saying hmmm. And even worse is when it does load and I gain an automatic victory, or in some rare cases, just crashes the game completely. This is a huge issue that came out when the LOTR set released.

Thanks for enumerating those posts mentionning the issue and I'm sure you may have missed some.
The usual bugs I've seen on Arens since its launch occur rather occasionaly but this one feels like bug when it is not happening thus my strong feeling it is done on purpose.

Hello, I've posted on several topics like this one mentionning this issue but I stronly feel there is nothing to be fixed here: it is done by design to push players play against each other rather than against Sparky (there are myriads of reasons for this) thus it must be undone not fixed. The "large board" as they call the issue on the known issues list is just a scam to hide the fact it is done on purpose: I see this happening on "small boards" too...

Playing sparky challenge, where she just goes infinite.
Board state see attached file.Just make it so that if it uses the same amount of time that a rope would burn for a normal player, then it would force the same on sparky. That she doesn't play with standard rules like that is strange, she shouldn't have to use that amount of time anyways for normal thinking through the turn.

Having an issue with the sparky challenges. I'm on the play three quick drafts and the counter will not progress forward. I don't usually draft and have purchased gems to do so. Is there anyway to progress the challenge counter with out wasting all of my gems?

lately, with the bot now having some major bugs in it, I am starting to lose interest altogether. I am thinking that after this set mastery is done, I may consider not buying anymore cards and quit the game entirely unless it gets fixed

Im playing just a regular game against the bot and they are stuck. Keep saying "Hmmm." And then they make me feel bad for telling them its their turn "Be patient!" :D

Sparky Needs A Tune Up!
Main Problem: While practicing against the Bot Sparky, it gets stuck in the HMMMM loop.
1. To reproduce the bug, start a match against Sparky and play until you have a board state with 5 - 10 or more creatures on each side of the field. This seems to be the number one factor in triggering the HMMMMM loop. Mass tokens trigger this loop consistently.
2. I'm using a PC running Windows 10.
3. I start a match against Sparky, trying out a new deck with some new cards. Once the board state hits a certain amount of permanents, Sparky says HMMMM in an infinite loop. I can't practice my deck and have no choice but to surrender. It doesn't matter what color Sparky is using they all hit the infinite HMMMM loop once the magical, at random amount of permanents hits the board. If you keep the permanents numbers low, the infinite loop doesn't trigger as often.
4. I expect to be able to practice a new deck with Sparky without getting into an infinite HMMMM loop. At this point, just get rid of Sparky's dialog, it adds nothing but frustration to my experience. Sparky is also a Bot, there is zero need for Sparky to ''Think''. Sparky's turn shouldn't take longer than a humans turn, and needs to be streamlined quite a bit.
5. Screen shots don't matter, plenty of people have them for you and you haven't done anything to fix Sparky. If you want to know what the screen looks like, battle Sparky, let Sparky amass 5 plus creatures, then you amass as many creatures and tokens as you can and watch Sparky go HMMMMM over and over and over and over, then take a screen shot and there you go!
6. There's no consistent workarounds, but these might help sometimes.
- Limit number of permanents on both sides of the board, under 5 per side
- When Sparky starts her HMMMM loop, interrupt with ''YOUR TURN'', she will reply with sorry my bad, then play will continue. -

Please fix Sparky!!!! it's almost ubearable at the moment to play against Sparky. There is a huge problem with passing priority before the combat phase. When there is a board state (it could be "too much power" on my side or a complex ability) Sparky doesn't pass priority and "frozes". Fix it, please!!!!

Bot Match seems to be broken. I don't know when it started but every time I'm in an advantageous position it just stops playing, and i'm left staring at the battlefield with nothing I can do except concede.
I've tried several battles with it, and in every battle where i'm disadvantaged and eventually lose it works perfectly, but as soon as I either have more creatures on my side or one of my creatures becomes especially powerful, everything stops. It won't play any new cards and it won't even pass the turn, it's as if I was playing a real game and as soon as I have advantage the guy just gets up and walks away from the table. The bot doesn't get timed out either, so it just sits there forever until I quit. It's pretty annoying and unfair. It means I have to try to do trail in error in live matches where there's no guarantee I can even attempt to see how things play out because other players may have decks that just completely shut down everything, so I can't test what works and what doesn't, all i have is theory and speculation.
