Sparky stuck in "Hmmm."-ing out turn - Need a way to force Sparky's play
Bug: As of 9/7/23 Sparky is stuck in "Hmmm."-ing on their turn to play. Is Sparky teaching roping as a valid strategy now?
Situation: Sparky has any number of cards or even no cards in hand. It is Sparky's first main phase. I am in a winning position just playing cards to try to get to test a new card in my 100-card singleton deck. Sparky Hmmms for ~ 17 minutes, then I get the victory screen. Sparky doesn't even say "You got me!", such a sore loser! This happened today against Sparky's Blue, Black, Red, White, and Green decks.
The reason this is bad:
- Roping is bad enough vs. humans. It is no fun at all vs. Sparky.
- Getting a Time Out victory when testing a new card in my deck is not good. I may not even draw the card before this Analysis Paralysis state kicks in.
- The current timer is way too long to wait to have a game simply end.
- The only way to end the match is to drain my device's battery for over 15 minutes or to concede the match. Yuck.
Solution: We need a way to force Sparky's play.
Ideas:
- Set Sparky's turn timer to 15 seconds: Once time is used up "thinking" a play or pass decision is enacted
- If the player emotes "Your go" a number of times (maybe 3?) before Sparky has played, a play or pass decision is enacted
- Fix the code that has Sparky getting stuck in the first place.

Please fix Sparky I can barely test my decks ever since you patched on Tuesday, she either stops responding and I've waited 10 minutes or she stops responding then concedes the match -

Others have mentioned the bot getting stuck in infinite "HMMMM" loops but I have also had the bot concede when I am playing against it. I feel like this defeats the whole purpose of the bot and it would be great if it maybe doesn't just concede because that defeats the purpose for a lot of people. i dont have the video of it directly happening but it shows the aftermath of it

I noticed this today as well. trying to get cards into play to tests mechanics and sparky gets hung up on "hmm.." forever before I can get all the pieces I needed into play. I waited 15 minutes at one point on the 2nd attempt, and on the 3rd attempt the bot actually conceded. **** near impossible to test mechanics at this time. Would be nice if there was 2 options for bot matches: current more aggro sparky and a 2nd where sparky just mellow like before lord of the rings release where the ai just is literally dumb.

Also ran into this bug. I've had it happen several times where it eventually resolves itself after 2-7 "Hmmm."s. This time though, it's been 10+ minutes and Sparky is still thinking... Just wanted to test the flow of this food / Jinnie Fae deck. I refuse to concede, I'll gladly let the server use resources (not actually sure if the bot matches even run the AI server side) trying to solve a problem it can't seem to get out of until it eventually gives up and lets me finish the match. Or until I need my phone for something else, whichever happens first. Playing on Android at the moment.

Sometimes when I practice a deck in a bot match, the AI enters a perpetual state where the spark just repeats sayibg Hmmmm.........Hmmmm.......Hmmmm......Hmmmm. Even when I try to mix it up with a, "Your Go" they do the auto reply, "I'm going", and then back to the Hmmmm, Hmmmm, Hmmmm

2nd round of a Bo1 match with AI and sparky has 8 cards in hand and presumedly no land card to play. Stuck in an "Hmmm" loop as it cannot decide which card to discard down to 7 cards. AI finally gave up after about 10 mins and I got a Victory screen. AI needs better decision making skills, or give sparky a countdown fuse like all other players.

Hmmm loop encountered when Sparky was deciding whether to attack a 4/4 into a 2/1 and two 1/1s . Young Pyromancer, an Elemental Token, and a Stitcher's Supplier. Attack hadn't been declared yet, but the match eventually froze because Sparky couldn't decide if she wanted to offer the trade or not.
