since bloomborrow, arena performance on MacOS went from barely acceptable to literally unplayable
arena running on a 2019 macbook pro with a ~10yo thunderbolt display
so far arena performance was tolerable, but barely acceptable. used mostly display (standard 2500 resolution) with in-game settings to low quality and full screen, manually lowering the in-game resolution from 2500 to 1600.
note that the resolution automatically reset to 2500 regularily (but i dont know when exactly - anyways, it always was a big performance hit when it happened)
since bloomborrow - bam. UNPLAYABLE!
even if i manage to have a super low res like 1200 apply for an entire game, the frames come in like 1 per second. its literally unplayable.
wont enter a single event until this works again. <== you can forward this to the product managers. maybe this is the point where people start caring about the performance and quality of the application
PS: the bottleneck is most likely the graphics

is it possible that the infinite threading comes from an interaction between arena and timemachine?
is it possible that the application destroys your computers performance if you happen to have backups not exclude the path

my system running macOS sonora 14.6 is way beyond minimum AND suggested requirements by the way:
2.6 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i7 (thats better than intel core i5)
AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 4 GB
Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB (thats both better than 1024 MB VRAM)16 GB 2667 MHz DDR4 (thats better than 4GB)
1) you start arena client
2) game 1 is fine
3) from game 2 onwards there is a kernel taks eating all the CPU and turning the entire computer into an unusable state
4) you quit arena. computer needs a couple of seconds and runs smoothly again
5) you restart arena and first game is already freezing
