Problem with witch’s mark
There is a problem with witch’s mark where if you decline to put a role on a creature it won’t let you discard a card to still draw 2 it will just resolve the spell. I’ve had multiple issues where resolving copies of it from leyline of resonance when the creature targeted with the original is removed and there are no creatures to target.

If all targets of a spell become illegal before it resolves, it won't resolve. This is commonly called "fizzling".
So if you choose a target with Witch's Mark, and that target gets removed, since it was the only target the spell had, NONE of the spell's effects happen. That goes for copies of the spell, too.
Also, a copy of a spell must have the same number of targets as the original. If none can be chosen, the copy will not be created.
