Gargos/cost reduction interaction
I had Gargos Vicious Watcher, an Emerald Medallion, and The Earth Crystal all on the field. I tried to bestow Nyxborn Hydra and its cost was not reduced at all.

What did you choose for X? The reduction will be applied against that.

Understood about the creature reduction. And maybe thats why the 4 reduction wasnt working. Doesnt explain why i couldnt cast it with the 1 or 2 reduction either.

Bestowing makes the spell into an AURA spell, way before costs are determined, so it is not a creature spell, it does not have any creature types, so Gargos' cost reduction does not apply. The other two do, since they only care about the spell being green.
