Bug: Absolute Virtue
Hi Support,
Previous turn I have casted Bring of the last gift to reanimate all my creature including Absolute Virtue. Knowing I have protection, on opponents turn I didn't block the attack and was expecting no damage will be dealt. But instead the damage went in and lost in the game...

As always, thanks very much Rezzahan for your insights. WotC should pay you for being here. :)

It's actually one of the game's Golden Rules: "Can't beats Can".
101.2. When a rule or effect allows or directs something to happen, and another effect states that it can’t
happen, the “can’t” effect takes precedence. -

Rezzahan, which rule which declares primacy wrt these sorts of effects?
Just reading what's on the cards would seem to indicate neither condition would overrule the other.

While you do have protection from everything your opponent throws at you, part of protection is damage prevention. And the two Frenzied Baloths you opponent has say
"Combat damage can't be prevented."
This nullifies the damage prevention part of protection for combat damage.
