Stuck at waiting for server
Whenever I try to login using my account, the launcher will go through preparing assets then it will give me an orange spinning ring that says waiting for server.
My Husband also has MTGA so I had him see if his game works, it does. his works fine on his computer. Except if i try to login on his computer it prepares assets then gets stuck at waiting for server again.
I spent 3 days going back and forth with tech support, changing settings, uninstalling, reinstalling, using different internet connections. They checked to make sure I don't have any bans or whatever, and then they sent me here.
It started on April 16th, the day of an update.

I have the same problem, i contact the support with https://mtgarena-support.wizards.com/hc/en-us/requests/new i give them all logs and they give me no solution for this problem --> CONCLUSION its impossible to play this game.
When i try to lanch the game he download something but i am stuck in the best step "WAITING SERVERS3 -

Getting the same waiting for server forever. Use Windows Task manager and it shows application is downloading a massive number of files, maxing out my broadband, so application can't contact server because some stupid developer decided that using all available network capacity in a background task would be a good idea.
Please fix it, at least give us the setting to limit the download speed to something that allows the game to connect to servers so we can carry on playing.

Maybe they need to get more servers for the players to connect too. No amount of troubleshooting your computer would fix that kind of problem.

I am having the same problem with unable to connect and frequently waiting for server after a game if I do manage to connect. Are you guys running out of server bandwidth? Cutting costs because of Covid-19 maybe? What is going on?

A recurring problem, just like the repeated crashes when you play on Mac, though at least the crashes tend to go away after you retry starting up about 5 times. Once you get the "Waiting for the Server..." error it appears to stay, no matter what you do (reboot, stop Arena, force stop Arena, toggle the Internet connection on or off...). Either they have a congested network or buggy network code. I have been constantly restarting the application for 30 minutes now, it always hangs on connecting to the server. It is the second time this happens to me, the other time was one or two weeks ago.

I'm having this issue as well. The game will finish loading assets and then hang forever on the "Waiting for the Server..." screen. Task manager shows "UnityCrashHandler64". I reinstalled within the last week, had a day or two of normal functioning, and now back to this.

I have exactly the same problem. This is the 10:th connectivity problem I've had where I couldn't log in and the status page claims everything works perfectly. LIES!!!
I've sent in several tickets over the months, but the connection errors just comes back. I NEVER have any problems with other games, it's always Arena having these issues. Sometimes I haven't been able to play for days. It just keeps coming back, again and again, and I see so many people having the same issues. It drives me insane. I've tried EVERYTHING, several times. All the hints and tips and advice I've gotten when I've contacted support. 9/10 times. nothing helps. I just waste hours trying the fixes over and over again. It's ridicolous. I'm pretty close to just giving up on Arena, it's a cesspool of bugs and connectivity issues and they never do anything about it. They will fix one thing but the next patch, the problem just comes back and affects hundreds of users again and again and again and again and again... I'm so sick of it I could scream. I just want to play magic, why does these issues come back again and again and how many bloody times do I have to continue to send in bug reports and tickets before Arena aknowledges this and does something about it? This is probably the 20:th time I do everything in my power to try to resolve this issue, I'm so sick of it I could vomit. Nothing helps and the support is awful.

Both my boyfriend and I have both been shut out of the game (Waiting for server...) for two days! What about our mastery passes we bought? Do we just lose the time / experience we would have put towards that? Will we lose out on the big prizes that we have paid for and have worked so hard until now to get? This seems unacceptable.

I am stuck since the beginning of august and was unable to play since. The developers need to fix their network managment because it is higly inefficent! The downloads are badly manged because they take up all the band width and stop everything else without giving any notification or warning. Try lighten things up!

I too am endlessly "Waiting for the Server".
Got to play one game of JumpStart and my opponent didn't do anything and timed out. I've already tried an uninstall/reinstall. No change. -

Also stuck on Waiting for the Server after login. Was able to play one game earlier today but when it went back to main screen it stayed on Waiting for the Server for an hour. Restarted the game and now that's all it does, stays on Waiting for the Server. Have been waiting most of the day.
Edit - Rebooting my machine did not help. On a wild hair, I started the game in compatibility mode for a previous version of Windows (8), and was able to play one game. Now I'm once again "Waiting for the Server..."

I´m stuck at the "waiting for server" forever. It worked all the time and i changed nothing and now i can´t play for already 4 days. I tried all steps for troubleshooting but nothing helped. I even reinstalled the complete game but still same issue...

For three days now when I zry to open arena, it loads normaly, and I log in, and after that it is sguck on waiting for the server, and it does not matter how long I wait, it is stuck on that.
