Error Updating Data
The game is stuck on startup.
It says : "Error Updating Data - Please check your connection and try again".
Obviously my connection work just fine. I think this is a bug.
Thank you for your time and patience

Recently having downloaded MTGA from the Google Play Store for Early Access. I have noticed a consistent issue when I try to connect over a mobile data connection (LTE).
LTE Connection - Open MTGA - "Error Updating Data, Please Check Your Connection and Try Again"
Attempt other apps on same connection, no issue.
Switch to WiFi: No Issue with MTGA
Phone Setup: OnePlus 7T
Android: 10Update: If I connect initially on WiFi and then switch to mobile data, I get
"Waiting For the Server"
Eventually the following:
"Connection Lost
You Have Lost Your Connection to the Server"It appears the mobile version of MTGA, can not handle or recognize a mobile data connection and only recognizes a WiFi connection.
I'm using the same DNS servers and proxy configuration (no proxy) while on my own WiFi or Mobile Network.

Just installed MTGA on my laptop, and it won't get past this issue. ☹
Tried kikosphere#09010 solution, but that'd didn't work. Opened up the fresh player.log and saw this:

That seemed to start a data transfer when I started the app and get me past the error.

I have the dumbest, brute force "solution" to this problem. It takes a bit of luck, but guess when the download is going to randomly decide to kill itself and alt+f4 (I know... hardy-har-har). It is the only way to progress the download because every time it hits that error, it forgets everything and restarts. Don't hit the error, and it will eventually make it.
Note: I decided to try and uninstall and reinstall based on troubleshooting and was stuck downloading 3.96 GB at >100MB per attempt. Starting the download and waiting until some arbitrary amount had been downloaded and then killing the task and starting again. -

Having the same issue. I've tried everything in this forum, on the troubleshooting articles, and more. I've tried all of these possible solutions on two different machines and both are having the same issue. The game was working perfectly fine for me at the Zendikar release, but somehow it's borked beyond belief now. Hope this nonsense gets fixed soon.

This is happening to me after I connect to matches. By turn 2 it just kicks me off the match claiming network issues and when I try to reconnect it gives this error message. Funniest part is I can exit the game and launch it again to connect back to the match 2 turns later with my end doing nothing and discarding random cards. I have no idea if the error would occur again, as I just conceded and went on to the next match, which got me disconnected again and here I am.

easiest way is to launch it through the epic games launcher (but you have to do this every time, it doesn't actually fix the problem, but at least you can play!)

WIZARDS! THIS IS A RECURRING ISSUE!Update: No fixes worked and I have an outstanding troubleshooting ticket on this issue since Kaladesh release! Both new downloads and epic games launcher versions won't update.

I've been having this issue since the Kaladesh Remastered update. I've tried every solution here and in the related troubleshooting pages to no avail. Given that there are many other games that don't have these issues and the chronic mismanagement of their respective products and communities that WotC has displayed over the past couple of years, I think I'm going to just uninstall and play Commander with friends once the pandemic settles down.
