Algorithm Improvement
I'm sure you're getting a lot of complaints about how one-sided your algorithm is not being impartial and often times screwing over players with land draws that should not be happening in a purely random sample - so my complaint can be added to that pile.
But, an idea for changing the algorithm to improve randomization would be having the program assign a number to each card remaining in a deck and pile shuffling the cards into X amount of piles (let's say 6). It can repeat this process Y amount of times then take the middle of the pile and put those cards on top. A better template would be from the card shuffler for poker sets from stores.

The shuffler sucks, i played 4 games and all of them i have to mulligan at least once, besides i am playing aggro and have at least 18 spells for turn 1, never never never i have on my opening hand a spell for turn 1, is very frustrating because when i play a deck with 24-26 lands i struggle to get the third land but when i play a monored deck with 18lands i flood mana up to 8-9 lands sometimes... doesnt have any sense

Check my draft logs, every draft is exactly the same. I'm on 17Lands
I got 2-0 nice, easy wins maybe a sweaty game.
Then the client kicks in I get mana screwed for a loss, then flooded for my second loss and finally my opponent perfectly curves out for a stomp.
It isn't even a meme any more and I am *****n sick of it.
I can be 25-35% to pull a land and hit 2 lands in a row just to make sure I lose.
Maybe if I'm unlucky i'll got 1-3 instead. 3 or 4 wins *******.
When I make a mistake I can see where I lost and admit it. But this is beyond a joke.
I even played drafts with 16 lands and STILL got flooded with land cycling.Premier, Sealed, Quick all entirely the same cycle - predicable. If you want to rob me just tax my account of gems so you don't waste my time.

I will post some nonsense pictures of my recent game to this post. Essentially, the system is terrible and it needs to be fixed and you don't seem to care because there are thousands of posts that this problem exists and it has been going on for years.
Oh... and to top it off... this was an event match.

I personally believe that the matching and shuffling algorithms used in this game are fair and have never complained about the progress of the game.
However, wotc needs to provide the means and opportunity for verification for the very few skeptics.
Specifically, some of the code used in the in-game process, especially that involving matching, dice rolls, and shuffling, needs to be published in a public space such as github, and its seed value and salt needs to be stored in a carbon copy fashion in at least three places (player, opponent, and wotc's managed servers).
There will be room for cracking in the system proposed here, but at least it will ensure fairness in a clearer way than we have now, and I believe that eventually it will be in wotc's best interest. -

I can not tell you how many games I have drawn my opening hand to have three of the same card. This even happened when I only had three of that card. Worse than that, once I mulligan to get the same three cards. So many other times I get impossibly bad mana pulls. The most recent game was with a 46 card deck with 9 swamps and 9 plains. That means a 39 percent of my deck are lands.
I got a starting hand of 7 cards with 2 mana. That means 39 cards left and 16 of them are mana. A 41% chance to draw mana. But I don't.
38 cards left with 16 lands = 42% chance to draw man.... nope
37 with 16 lands = 43%.... nope
36 with 16 lands = 44%..... nope
35 with 16 lands = 45%.... nope
34 with 16 lands = 47% yet again .... no land. By this time I was completed destroyed. No chance to win. I forfeit. My next game I added another plain and swamp.
In 15 cards I eventually drew 6 lands..... all plains. I drew 5 cards all needing black mana and could not play a single one.
Top it off... These are my first two matched in Quick Draft Murders at Karlov Manor. Even if I made an amazing deck the programming for the card draw is a joke. I know how to change this to make it better. I know a simple selection system that can be put in place that will solve this problem.
I want to be contacted about this. I grew up with magic over twenty years ago in High School. I want to love it on MTG Arena, but I'm running into the same reason I quit four years ago. I've come back to be once again frustrated in 25% of the games I play due to these ridiculous draw issues that should have been fixed by now.
I am angry but it comes from a passion for the game. I don't want it to be troubled with this issue. Please contact me. I want to fix this and I truly believe I know how.

I've taken 120 draws since I've taken a hand with 7 cards and 3 lands. What's up with the hand smoothing algo? Why is it that decks that play 13 lands hit curve, but mine with extra lands can't. Oh that's right, because your algorithm doesn't know it's *** from its elbow.

Why do we have to play 10 games to actually play 3 or 4? Does anyone else get tired of asking them to fix this it can’t be that hard to do?!?!

I have only gone 1st two times in the last 18 games! It is starting to feel personal. It's bad enough that the algorithm for drawing cards feels stacked against me, but when I am being also made to go second 89 percent of the time, what hope can I possibly have?

You can complain all you want. But there won´t be a change. The fraud you are experiencing here is wanted because it is part of their business idea. You won´t get lucky until you buy something from their shop, then you have a little bit of luck until they decide it is about time you buy something again. Doing this they want you to subconsciously learn that buying is good and not buying leads to frustration. The conman behind this want to maximise their profits, they don´t give a single **** about cour complaints. There is a video on YT that explains Blizzards Hearthstone patent application and how all that works. They are greedy little bastards that aim for the quick money rather than a long lasting customer - relationsship. I´ve been trying to play this FTP for some years, knowing all this already..it was ..well "fun" ? somehow (mostly frustrating). This game is fraud and the company behind ist as as evil as Blizzard and the everygrinning disgusting psychopath Bobby Kotick. The sooner you understand this the better for your own sanity, please believe me that. I would never pay a single cent for this **** because it is a rip-off. Oh and there is this little smiley-minigame in between that asks you how you liked the game - lol. That of course is just a placebo. They want you to believe how much they care lol. That never changed anything and at best it will help them to understand how they can mishandle you even better. If you don´t believe me here is proof : You will almost never get more than 4 cards of land in your opening hand (as long as you have a healthy land/cards relation - about 1/3 land in your deck). Mostly you get 2 nowadays, often enough only 1. Could you possible hold more than that in your starting hand when playing with cards on the table? (hint : the only correct answer here is YES - you can have 6 or 7 lands in your opening hand). That alone should open your eyes.
They control the outcome of the match with the lands. If they want you to lose you will either get no land when you need it or they spam you with land when you need cards to play.
Asking them "to fix the shuffler" is like asking them to cheat on you in a different way. There are plenty of videos/websites out there that explains the idea of "matchmaking" (an euphemism for fraud) and how they control the outcome of matches to make you feel a certain way, please educate yourselves. As soon as a gaming company is using "matchmakers" or algorythms you know its fraud. It is the modern equivalent to the mafia using magnets to drag the metal ball into the right box on the roulette-table. Just that this is even worse. Now I feel a little bit like Jesus - I suffered for you so you don´t have to :D .Just give up on this ****, it´s no good. So many games, so little time... -

THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS. One of the worst, most frustrating MTG experiences out there.... Arena could be so good but it's depressing how blatantly different it is from real magic.

I am just curious how constantly in a deck of 91 with 40 lands I still have a lack of lands while a person with 270 cards can get the same card when you can only have a max of 4 of one card. I wouldn't say anything but this happens 9 out of 10 games and would like to know what can be done.

The algorithm the devs use to match players is ********. It does not reflect what really table top mtg is at all.
You guys should be ashamed to call yourselves game designers. Maybe this is why you idiots, are stuck designing mobile games. You’re literally the embodiment of the participation trophy generation.

I just played a March of the Machine quick draft where I got paired up against a Mythic ranked player when I am a Gold ranked player. Please explain to me how that is fair? I can understand getting matched with someone who is the lowest tier of the next rank above you but definitely not three ranks above you. I didn't stand a chance to win against them because they are so much more skilled than I am evidenced by their ranking. What is the point of having a ranking system if I am not going to be paired with other players in my rank?

The shuffling algorithm appears to be highly unrealistic. Having dedicated ten years to playing Magic, I have never encountered a scenario where drawing nine lands consecutively seemed probable. It would be greatly appreciated if this aspect could be thoroughly examined and corrected, as it detracts from the meaningful testing of decks.
It is my belief that addressing such an issue is pivotal for ensuring a fair and enjoyable gaming experience. Constructive feedback is vital for the improvement of any platform, and I trust that the development team values the input of dedicated players.
Furthermore, it is my observation that MTG Arena serves primarily as a comprehensive card database, and I would welcome enhancements to its gaming functionality. I offer this feedback with the intention of contributing to the ongoing refinement of MTG Arena, a platform many of us hold dear. Thank you for your attention to these matters.

Please fix the AI Shuffling on this game. It is ridiculous. As you can see by how many games I have lost over and over again, the shuffling is ridiculous and not working properly. I either get all lands in my hand or when I draw, in which by turn 10 I am dead cause I cannot play anything. Or it gives me all high cards, or NO lands and I can't do anything. this is not making this game fun at all when you lose over and over again. the only time I win is if the opponent doesn't play or they concede. I have also witnessed many times i get 4 of the same card in my initial hand. How does this make sense? Please fix your shuffling of this game.

You pour all of your money into a game with an absolute garbage shuffling mechanic. And you've made it painfully obvious the game is pay to play. When my shuffles are bad, I can go buy some gems and all of the sudden I get the best cards in my deck? I've got a suggestion. Why don't you make a game that isn't rigged? Or better yet, hire some people who actually know how to make a proper game.
