1. opponent played banned cards

   I just played a match and my opponent played brainstorm, i was playing ranked historic and i cant add that card to my deck cause, wouldn`t u know? its banned, lost the game to a vivi player that had 3 cards in hand before pulling off the brainstorm into brainstorm into lightning bolting the **** out of my 2 blockers, cool game

2. Cards not working in Arena for new set/token not generated on Sentry the Golden Guardian

   I am using a PC and in Arena I was playing on of my sealed event games against another player and when he cast Sentry Golden Guardian it never created the token it was suppose to for my side of the board. he didnt have any cards or abilities that would have negated the effect that would create the token. This led to me losing the game, I was unable to get the logs in time because I was roping in the game trying to salvage a win. but that card seems extra busted if it is not generating the token downside of the card.

3. Cheater or completely broken card algorithm

   I’m reaching out to you because I don’t quite understand how, when I play against an opponent with a deck of more than 100 cards, usually three things happen: The first is that they tend to have a good mana curve.
   
   The second is that they usually have spells that also match their mana curve.
   
   And the third is that they often draw several copies of the same card during the game.

   I wonder if we’re dealing with cheaters who modify the game, or if the algorithm that Magic: The Gathering Arena uses is completely broken.

   The last match I played tested my patience. I’m attaching screenshots and I hope you’ll work on resolving either of the two scenarios mentioned. I don’t remember how many matches I’ve dedicated to this game, but at least over a thousand, and when it’s my turn to play with 60-card decks with 4 copies of the same card, I usually don’t get the same 'luck'.

4. Brawl Matchmaking Overvalues Win Rate and Undervalues Deck Strength

   Brawl’s matchmaking has become so consistently unpleasant that I am struggling to continue playing a format I once genuinely enjoyed.

   The recurring experience is predictable:

   I build a casual, thematic, or experimental deck.
   I initially receive a few reasonably balanced matches.
   The deck wins several games.
   Matchmaking begins placing it against heavily optimized decks using top-tier commanders, efficient tutors, free spells, fast ramp, and repetitive value engines.
   The deck is no longer matched according to its actual construction or power level, and the games stop being remotely competitive or enjoyable.

   This creates the impression that recent win rate or player MMR is being weighted far more heavily than the cards in the deck. Even when my deck contains no tutors and deliberately avoids the strongest staples, it can still be matched against decks constructed for maximum consistency and efficiency.

   A thematic deck winning several games does not suddenly make it equivalent to an optimized deck. It may have benefited from favorable matchups, weaker opponents, good draws, or simple variance. Treating those wins as proof that the deck belongs in a substantially higher-power matchmaking pool punishes players for succeeding and gradually makes the queue worse the longer they play.

   This is especially damaging in Brawl because the format increasingly contains cards that dramatically reduce meaningful variance:

   Tutors that allow decks to access the same powerful cards repeatedly
   Free spells that create huge tempo swings without requiring meaningful resource commitments
   Commanders that generate immediate or unavoidable value
   Extremely efficient ramp and interaction
   Optimized “good-stuff” shells that use a commander mainly for its colors or passive advantage

   These cards and strategies should carry substantial matchmaking weight. A deck containing multiple tutors, free spells, premium interaction, fast mana, and established competitive staples should not be evaluated similarly to a thematic deck merely because both decks happen to have comparable recent win rates.

   The current system creates a destructive cycle:

   Build a fun deck → enjoy a few games → win several matches → receive increasingly optimized opponents → become frustrated → stop playing → return later because Brawl used to be enjoyable.

   This is not a healthy matchmaking experience. It discourages experimentation, creativity, and long-term engagement. It also makes players feel that the only choices are to accept consistently lopsided games, deliberately lose, or optimize their own decks and contribute further to the problem.

   Please reconsider how Brawl matchmaking evaluates deck strength. At minimum, the system should place greater weight on:

   Tutors and tutor density
   Free spells
   Fast mana and highly efficient ramp
   High-impact format staples
   Commander strength
   Removal and interaction density
   Infinite or deterministic combinations
   Cards with unusually high inclusion and win rates
   Overall synergy and consistency, rather than only individual card strength
   The difference between a deliberately thematic deck and an optimized good-stuff list

   Player MMR and recent win percentage may have a role, but they should not override meaningful differences in deck construction. Players should not be punished for winning a few games with a weaker deck.

   Brawl is trying to serve as Arena’s casual, Commander-like format, but its matchmaking often produces the opposite experience. Casual formats depend on reasonably similar expectations and power levels. Since Arena does not allow players to discuss power levels before a match, the matchmaking system must perform that function effectively.

   Right now, it does not.

   Please treat Brawl matchmaking as a core gameplay issue rather than an unavoidable feature of the queue. The format can still be fun, but the current system repeatedly drives players away from it.

6. Problems with choosing a deck and starting games

   Hello, since the last update, I've been having several issues when starting games of all formats. These issues occur on both my PC (Windows) and my mobile device (Android). I can only play from my recently played matches, and I’m also unable to change my decks. When I try, neither formats nor decks are displayed. Sometimes the decks are visible, but I can’t click “Play.”

7. Eaten by Piranhas and Ygra eater of all bugged

   I cast an Eaten by piranhas on ygra, sacrificing a creature do to its ward cost. Eaten by piranhas removed 3 abilities from Ygra, including the ability that makes creatures into artifact creatures. All creatures were still foods, and when the player proceeded to cast another creature a turn later, it was a food artifact as well. The ability text on Ygra was greyed out clearly showing it had been deactivated but it was still in effect. The other player had managed to get an emblem off that dealt me damage equal to the amount of healing they did. They were able to sac their board to kill me. I lost ranking because of it.

8. cant concede during trigger

   Once bloodletter of aclazotz starts an infinite combo with 1 damage pings, you cannot concede. If you have 1000 life from a lifegain deck and someone hits this infinite combo, you are stuck watching 1 damage pings for 1000 ticks

9. Valkmira didn't trigger opponent to pay (1) for targeting my permanent

   My opponent used "Sheltered by Ghosts" to remove my Valkmira itself from my battlefield. However, it didn't ask him/her to pay (1) to do this. Why? I have seen this happen with other cards that target Valkmira itself. It is being removed before being targeted?

10. At this point…

    At this point, I’m beyond disappointed at this game specific platform on playing mtg. The game play is very very very awful and punishes average players to death. I consistently make mythic often times within a week or a little over a week. But this is unacceptable when I am struggling for most of the time getting out of platinum. I barely got out with 4 days left I to the season…it doesn’t matter what deck I make within my means it gets countered fast. Standard is garbage, so much white going around, white decks always have sheltered by ghost up to 2 copies within 4-5 turns. I will keep on making posts like this until something is done, it’s tiring it’s draining it’s fcking exhausting seeing the game I love be reduced to such a horrible online experience.

11. Ward protected commander being cast

    I was playing Brawl against miirym, sentinel wyrm, and my opponent went to cast him from the command zone. I tried to counter with Devious Cover-Up and targeted 2 cards in my graveyard to shuffle back to my library, and I was given a warning that my spell would be countered by the ward ability; I had tapped out to counter the spell. Ward was not active at the time since the wyrm was not a permanent, yet my spell was still countered by the ward ability. To my understanding, Ward only applies if the card that has it already a permanent, which the wyrm had not resolved yet.

    Ashiok, Dream Render's passive ability of preventing the opponent from searching their library does not currently work after the latest patch.

    I tested this with Cleansing Wildfire, Price of Freedom, and Avengers Disassembled.

15. Bug regarding Hei Bai, Forest Guardian in Ranked Brawl.

    Because I am Japanese, I will write in both English and Japanese.

    In Ranked Brawl, it appears that the enchantment summoned from the deck by Heyavai, Guardian of the Forest's ETB ability is not chosen randomly, but rather determined by ascending mana cost.
    Despite having seven different Shrine cards in the deck, the same enchantment is summoned first every single time across approximately 20 matches.

16. Timer stuck

    I'm playing my last game in pick two draft. My opponent hasn't done anything for the last 10 min, but the timer is stuck and does not advance. I feel cheated out of a potential win. I'm on android.

    Fix the shuffling algorithm or remove the paywall filter that handicaps non-paying players. It’s very annoying to run a 60 card mono deck with 36 spells and 24 lands and pull one or less lands and have to Mulligan two or three times every hand. I’ve played Magic for over 30 years and I’ve never had this issue in real life if this was happening to me and I was putting money into this game I would be extremely mad which is why I propose the question and suggestion

19. bofur

    Opponent played quarrel targeting my dain, but the game didn't pass priority to me to cast Bofur in my hand, resulting in my death and loss. This is a bug, as you can see I had one white mana up and was able to cast it. Granting it hexproof and indestructible would have allowed me to block and survive to next turn
