Algorithm Improvement
I'm sure you're getting a lot of complaints about how one-sided your algorithm is not being impartial and often times screwing over players with land draws that should not be happening in a purely random sample - so my complaint can be added to that pile.
But, an idea for changing the algorithm to improve randomization would be having the program assign a number to each card remaining in a deck and pile shuffling the cards into X amount of piles (let's say 6). It can repeat this process Y amount of times then take the middle of the pile and put those cards on top. A better template would be from the card shuffler for poker sets from stores.

I don't think this has been said enough times. I can see other people have already complained about this problem and I'm starting to see a trend here. Whether you guys care or not, I still think this should be fixed, it's making the game experience absolutely horrible and not only has it happened to me, it's been happening to lots of my friends who have recently began to play MTG Arena quite constantly. I'm not really sure what the origin of this problem is but we'd really appreciate it if you just found a solution for it because the game has become pretty boring lately, we usually play against each other or in Ranked and whatever we do, we're struck with the same issue, so please, do something about this.

Seriously. It's insanely broken. It's absolutely messed up that WotC, having perfected their shuffling system in MTGO, decided to break there shuffling system in Magic Arena. I can only assume they did it on purpose. Honestly, I wouldn't be suprised when a class action lawsuit pops up, especially considering how much money people pour into this game. ****, how much money I did before I knew how broken their shuffling algorithm is. 26 mana in a 2.3 avg mana deck and I get mana screwed 1 out of 2 games. This is absolutely apalling and ridiculous. Time to switch to Flesh & Blood, which honestly makes me sad considering I've been a loyal MTG player since Revised.

Sent a load of complaints to WotC about Arena after update. Got standard “cookie cutter” response:
Thank you for contacting Wizards of the Coast Customer Service. I'm very sorry to hear that you've had some undesirable results while playing MTG Arena. I assure you that our algorithms, including matchmaking, the shuffler, coin flips, and others, have been tested at length and are working as intended. All players are on the same playing field using the exact same rules.
NO! It is not the same for everyone. Ithe game cheats you if you haven’t spent cash on it for a few days. It always sc**ws your draws, and even blatantly cheats to make you loose. I went against a deck with my destroyer deck: white/black with multiple destroys, target remove and mass exile cards, and peons that bounce back from graveyard. Whole game only got 3 mana and only pulled cards with cost 4+. That in of itself isn’t the cheating (even though it happens every sing game now), my opponent dropped a March from the Black Gates that amass’ orc 1, then dropped a Dreadhorde Invasion that amass’ zombies 1, and the orc just kept ramping. Just the orc twice every round. No Zombies. Finaly got a one ring out and wouldn’t you know. He had JUST THE PERFECT CARD to get rid of it. Draws from that point on were downhill. No more land and everything he drew just annihilated any creature I dropped. This was just one instance.
Dozen of other instances of NEVER drawing a creature. Never drawing a land. I could draw a buff card, but no creature to cast it on. I play a mono color deck and it is just the same. I play blue counter deck and am only paired with a black deck that has a ton of distress like cards to constantly discard, while opponent has a consistent land drop. I play mono-red haste and I am not putting any creatures and am paired with a blue counter deck that has tons of counters and landfall *****. The game is BROKEN.

Matching is clearly unfavorableseems that the draw is clearly manipulated to work against it
You can see that the win or loss is decided in advance just by drawing from the first hand to the 3rd turn.
For example,20 cards drawn, including an opening hand of 7 and an extra drawToo likely to draw lands and,The probability that the draw is a land at the timing to decide the victory or defeat is remarkably high
As evidence of this, in a match where you can win, you can always draw a spell card in a match where you win or lose, and the amount of land you draw is also a matter of probability.
Isn't MTGArena a solitaire that simply performs the victory or defeat decided in the game instead of fair ability?
Game nature is broken as an interpersonal game

My last "best of 1" standard tourney entry felt like a scam. With a 62-card deck with 15 creatures and 22 lands, I experienced both mana flood and drought. One game saw only 2 land draws in 10 rounds and the other game saw 7 rounds of lands and 1 creature draw. The only reason the game between the two mentioned experiences was different was that I mulligan down to 4 cards in my second game. This sort of response has yet to occur with this deck in standard ranked or play in over 20 hours of gameplay with this set of cards. This is not the first time I've experienced polar opposite deck performance between tournaments and ranked. Please look into this, I play magic because MTG Area is more convenient and entertaining to me than the other formats but tournament play doesn't seem to have provided the same opening hand opportunities as ranked or play, leaving players feeling swindled out of gems.

Don’t rig draws, it’s not fair and just a way to get people to spend money. I’d expect better from MTG. It’s too obvious.
Pics - too many lands, and continuous land draws; or creature cards deluxe and mulligans that don’t help and end up just quitting.

Die Ranglisten spiele sollten mehr auf dem gleichen Niveau eines Spielers sein... Da ich sehr häufig als Platin Spieler gegen andere Spieler spiele die sehr viele range über mir sind d.h. z.b spiele ich gegen Diamant oder sagenhaft seltene Spieler und das Level ist einfach nicht Fair... Genauso ist es aber auch das ich gegen Spieler mit Bronze rang spiele was auch wiederum nicht Fair ist... Mfg. Chilli

There is an alarming problem with shuffling and matching.
If I create a new deck, it can't be that it is paired with an identical deck, with the difference that the opponent does have the necessary resources against my proposal.
It can't be that the distribution of times you start and your opponent starts is so unequal. Making a "mono-net" deck only work if you start and the game weights you in the majority of the times your opponent starts.
The card dealing mechanism needs to be revised, it can't be that there is such a high probability that you fill up with lands or that some cards are literally ghosts, they don't come out.
Incorporate a voluntary poll after each game, the possibility to export and share Decks with all users, possibility to make contacts between opponents.And, most importantly, make sure you don't use bots. Or in any case, that the AI used is not so lucky as to jeopardise the player's experience.
They should reconsider the odds and try to make sure that everyone has a real ability to play fair, responsive games. It can't be that I have all the resources available and my opponent only lands, or the other way around.
Help complete collections by exchanging resources for specialisation in game form (historical, standard, limited...).
And be agile in responding and acting on user needs and suggestions. You earn millions thanks to us and the experience today is frankly deficient.
The current experience is mostly hit and miss, generating short games, favouring too much the real payment to obtain resources and generating frustration and something as important and dangerous as gambling addiction.

Lands are rigged in the game. Imagine running an 18 lands and still being flooded until 8-10th turn for 5 consecutive games.

6 out of 7 cards in a row were land. I get it the shuffler is random but no way this can happen as often as it does. I’ve also found if I start with 4 lands I am guaranteed to draw one if not two lands for my very first draws. There is a consistency in the “random” shuffling that becomes a repeated pattern. The two games before this match, I got 2-3 lands right when I was in the losing stretch. On iOS. The best workaround I have found is downloading a deck with this bug then uploading it as if it is a new deck. I perform way better with a “new” deck. There is a very obvious shuffler pattern.
