network error - unable to get collection
Can't get in to the main user interface. Can't attach a log when no access to the main menu.
Error displayed: Network error - unable to get collection.
The client asks either to reconnect, log off or check Arena status server (all operational).
Restarted my PC, restarted my internet modem+router. Still same error.
I logged in earlier 6 hours ago, no such problem.

I also got this error since the last maintenance on 22nd November 2022. I have been unable to login for nearly 4 days now, just after I reached Mythic last week and now I cannot try to get into the numbers..
Tried rebooting, tried VPN, tried using mobile version on my phone... nothing...
Please fix asap.. kind of destroys it for me after playing several hours daily and getting this error ... VERY frustrating1. Steps to reproduce: Start the game. After the "initial scene" check comes "Waiting for server" then directly the message "Unable to get collection" pops up. Options to check Status, which tells me everything is fine. Reconnect, which is basically a loop returning to the same options again and log out.
2. Platform is Windows 10

4. expected result would be the game screen with quests, decks, profile and so on
5. see screenshots attached by bug opener. they are the same.
6. no workaround foundUpdate: Playing via Android App works. Playing on another PC with my account does not. So it does not seem to be on my computer's end.
Final Update: I resolved this issue locally. There was a lot of network traffic in my LAN congesting the cables. (Yes, I have lots 60+ clients on my LAN for the family..) That was why everything seemed to work, e.g. YouTube etc., but the available bandwidth was apparently not sufficient for Arena. Now it works again and should it every happen again I now know where to look.

After +1 week of this problem it was fine for 2 days. Today finished 3rd match without any sign of problem and when it was loading to go back to main menu again this error. Now i again keep getting this error and can't login. So you did nothing to fix it and server was fixed by coincidence for 2 days. I don't know how you manage to mess already working server.. It's wether your server is very badly optimized or you doing it on purpose and limiting access of certain zones to keep server available for US players. If it's the second scenerio pay some money and get yourself extra server(s) !

From Thailand, has this error too for 2 days. My current solution is to use VPN. Asia siite (at least Hongkong) seem to fail also. US west (LA) works like charm.
So, the problem is server side.
Hope this help someone who addict to MTG Areana like me.

I have been having similar issues ever since the scheduled maintenance of last week (November 3, if I am not mistaken). Today and yesterday I haven't been able to login to MTGA at all.
Past week I could log in but there were significant latency issues with my plays appearing 2-5 seconds later on screen. I tried re-installing the game and the installation was pretty fast, but as soon as I typed my password and username to login I was met with "waiing for server" until "network error".I have to add that I am in southern EU so it is my impression this is a region based server issue.

Same problem since 3 November 2022 patch. I am tired of this game having minor or major connection problems 10 months out of 12. Always a bug or conenction issue; fix your servers and optimize for non-US clients...

Same problem here, it started 3 days ago and it's only getting worse, the same problem applies to both my desktop and smartphone, first it kicked me out when I alt-tabbed, then it didn't allow me to reach the main menu at all, I had to install and uninstall the game three times now, I followed every step of the waiting for server loop except for doing a format or using an american VPN (and to be frank, this game simple isn't worth it to do either of these steps), I also deleted everything in the AssetBundle folder 2 times as well, that's about 50 GB and I am having an SSD so it's a pain, somehow after I did all that without knowning which step worked it managed to reach the main menu by chance, it was still heavily unstable, it lags a bit, it didn't show me the post-victory change in rank in ranked games and it didn't allow me to use certain formats like standard or explorer so I had to jump around between to get my daily wins, today I can't enter no matter what I try.

Hi, I had this issue since Saturday 15/10 and until Wednesday 19/10 late evening. It is gone now (Thursday 20/10 morning).
The issue was reproducible on 2 Windows10 PCs connected to home LAN and my Android12 smartphone connected to home WiFi. However, my same smartphone was not affected when not connected to home WiFi, thus using cellular network.
I think my Win10 laptop PC was still affected while connected through my smartphone "shared connection"/"mobile access point" but i am not entirely sure.
My home ISP is Bouygues Telecom (France) and my public IP is IPv4 only.
My mobile network operator is Orange (France) and my public IP is both IPv6 and IPv4.
