1. Ban Wash Away

   Hi content team! I really appreciate the recent Historic Brawl bans, I appreciate the attention to the format and the resulting quality increase.

   However, there's one more card that I think would do a world of good to ban. Wash Away makes for a miserable play experience, bringing fear and anger into the hearts of any who would cast their commander.

   Counterspells are an important part of the game, but this one being geared toward countering commanders for a trivial cost in a format where casting your commander is a huge part of the game is terrible.

2. ban strip mine, balustrade Spy and Show and Tell in Timeless

   Hello,

   I would like to ask when will Wizards ban Strip Mine, Balustrade Spy and Show and Tell in Timeless. These cards dominates the whole format. Its not funny anymore. Strip Mine is self explained. Same with Show and Tell.

4. Basic Social Functions

   Hey everyone! Long time Magic fan here - I think a HUGE weakness of Arena is that there are almost NO ways for me to onboard other people into the game or to maintain interest among friends. One of the reasons this game still exists in general is the social component of playing in paper which allows players to keep each other interested (and invested) in the game.

   Here are some basic social functions that would give us ways to interact with friends and therefore maintain broader interest in the long term:

   • Friend people you meet
     This is a basic way to let people start building that social component which can keep them coming back; why can't we make friends IN the game? Sometimes you play someone who is fun or you liked their play, why can't you choose to connect with them in any way? This makes the game feel empty and lonely.

   • "Well played" / "Nice deck", other more expressive emotes
     It's insane that there's no way to commiserate with someone if they are having a rough draw. There's nothing you can really signal. If someone has a great deck you haven't seen, or makes a great play, why can't you complement them on it? It's so basic and I frequently wish I could have just this little extra bit of communication.

   • Private player lobbies
     Why is the only functionality for private games a single 1v1 match that's not even observable? The fan made website to play Netrunner (a card game with a much smaller community) lets you make lobbies and have people join as spectators. There is no way to interact with a group of friends on Arena, not at all.

   • Spectator Mode
     No brainer, and even beyond the social aspect of being able to involve more than one friend, this is just basic for the esports scene. It looks very unpolished to have at the official esports events a janky screenshare of the individual players (sometimes with issues too).

   • Pod draft / sealed?
     This is huge! You could sell so many more packs if people could play limited formats in a social way (with friends). This would be such an easy way to get friends into the game / maintain hype over the course of a year. You underestimate how many non magic regulars would pay to draft once just for a fun game night.

   • 2v2 / Two headed giant, etc.
     Again, any way you can add to the game for players like me to involve more than one friend would be amazing.

   There's much more social functionality to desire from Arena, the important thing to remember is that this has a very real long term impact on the community of a game. I want to get friends involved and experience the game with them, but I right now I can't do pretty much anything to that effect.

5. Brawl fails to load

   Give us the steps to reproduce the bug

   Attempt to play any form of Brawl with any deck, including midweek magic Brawl. No additional steps, the game will attempt to connect and appears to fail loading into the match. I will receive a win or loss depending on whether my opponent decides to wait for myself to timeout. I have received match “wins” due to an opponent conceding against me due to my own (involuntary) inaction, so it appears that I do “connect” to the game, but fail to load in fully to the point that I can then play the match. Have turned off cosmetics, have updated, have reinstalled, have turned off card backs, used default avatar and default card images (no full arts). Have tried with old brawl decks, new brawl decks, building a deck in the MWM event builder, cloning decks, changing deck format type, changing commander. Have not tried on PC and not going to. Exclusive to brawl only, all other game formats work without issue.

   The matchmaking screen appears normally up until it reaches “finding an opponent”, at which point the screen briefly stutters, and then the “finding opponent” lasts indefinitely,

6. stop forcing alchemy

   Stop forcing alchemy into everything. We don't want to be forced to play Alchemy every time there's a midweek Magic event. It's pathetic and worthless and it sucks. Stop printing 5 color goodstuff commander and stop foricng ******** alchemy into every single format you fat idiots push out. It's pathetic and the alchemy ******** is so pushed and forced. And you guys ruin the game with this.

7. midweek magic

   Stop ruining every format. Stop making Midweek Magic push ****** alchemy cards. And maybe don't make me go second 7 times in a row and the times I go first you **** me over on lands. You scumbags should lose your jobs.

8. Brawl as ranked

   Please, we know that Brawl is the second most played format on MTGA. And I'm sure it would be the first if it were included in the ranked system, because it's frustrating when people give you points because they're not actually playing anything.

9. There is a bug atm where if you try to draft omni path

   There is a bug atm where if you try to draft omni path - even if you choose tradition draft and not the new pick 2 at a time format- you are forced into a pick 2 at a time format anyway (making it unavoidable). I left a bug note yesterday for one and today i tried to draft traditional thinking i misclicked only to be sure that it is indeed forcing me to pick 2 cards at a time.

   I resigned from both without playing remaining games. I lost my draft tokens for both events and just wNt an update to when normal draft will be functioning.

   There is a bug atm where if you try to draft omni path - even if you choose tradition draft and not the new pick 2 at a time format- you are forced into a pick 2 at a time format anyway (making it unavoidable). I left a bug note yesterday for one and today i tried to draft traditional thinking i misclicked only to be sure that it is indeed forcing me to pick 2 cards at a time.

10. The game is getting more and more boring every day

    Especially in Bo1, the most played format in your app, Magic is becoming very boring. Reanimator persist combo is very annoying. Now it consistently closes during the second turn, and it is very difficult (and boring, since the matches are all the same) to play against it in Bo1, since you should always have the exact answer in the first turn. Eldrazi is simply horrible, since I don't understand why only this deck can have such synergies that completely prevent opponents from playing. Destroying opponents' lands without the possibility of having a land back and without any drawback for the Eldrazi player is horrible in a format like Historic, also because every other strong way to interact with opponent lands is banned (you should for example, unban Blood Moon in order to prevent all of this). The format is becoming a solitaire card game.
    Playing Magic: The Gathering has never been so boring, to the point that I prefer playing other games, and it happens frequently that I shut the app, passing to other, more passionate games, such as a real solitaire.

    Separating alchemy from the other formats, or making separated play options. I dont like having to be forced into playing with these cards, i want to be able to choose if i will play with or without alchemy cards in the game

13. Mac desktop is playable again, Vivi Ornitier not banned yet?!

    Good news. After uninstalling Arena and taking 6 weeks off, I re-installed Arena on Mac (macOS Sonoma 14.3 (23D56)) and haven't experienced the same litany of networking, crashes, and dead-queue issues.

    Bad news. I'm still getting this (see screenshot) false-queuing (?) error approximately once/hour, though the client immediately continues as if it never happened.

    Badder news. Vivi Ornitier still isn't banned despite continued extreme format warping in all legal play.

14. Missing Cards

    There are missing LOTR and DnD cards on Arena. I bought packs searching for these cards, only to find out they were never even possible to get. On top of that, Fallout, my favorite IP doesn't have any cards on Arena at all.

    Saying "Commander Format" as the reason is absurd. MTG Arena is advertised as the same MTG experience, except digital, yet there are tons of cards missing.

    My friends and I can't play in person like we used to, due to living across the world. Update Arena to include missing cards, so the game can be enjoyed as advertised.

15. Mobile crash issue when switching apps

    I use MTGA when commuting and I need to switch to my bus or train ticket app when boarding. This causes the MTGA app to crash and restart. I am allowed to reconnect to the previous game after selecting the right format, but this does cause a big delay that can cost a turn or a forfeit if not fast enough. I also don't want my opponents getting the idea that I'm doing this on purpose. I think this should be looked at for a future patch for mobile as I am finding it to be a big issue and I assume others are dealing with this as well.

16. illegal cards in standard bo1

    i do standard bo1 (atm platinum level 3) both pc and phone .
    always i found players with illegal cards for that format, most of the are of set "phyrexia all will be one" like phyrexian arena, while i am sure to playing standard.

17. Bo1 Pioneer should ban Leyline of Resonance

    It is no secret that red in Pioneer is essentially standard cards at this point due to how pushed the red aggro cards have been in the past few years. In Bo1 Pioneer constructed Red leyline creates a whole bunch of situations where the game is decided on turn 0 if you're not playing lots of -x/-x or exile removal. It is stagnating the format in the same way it did to Standard.

19. It's July 29th, and now Arena doesn't work.

    Nothing works as it should work, is WOTC using stupid Ai these days? Also the in-game bot you can use to test decks really needs an option to pick which deck the bot uses against you with the option of the bot using a deck the user has made even. The Japanese TCG Duel Masters that branched off of MTG in Japan, their digital format (A game called Duel Master's Plays) has a better deck testing bot than Arena does lmao.

    Wizards of the Coast repeatedly talked about how they try to "cure" Historic in three ways:
    1) keeping fast mana out of the format;
    2) limiting land hate;
    3) not permitting free spells in historic.
    Well, Eldrazi decks explicitly broke the first two points:
    1) They have access to 2 different "sol lands", Eldrazi Temple and Ugin's Labyrinth, which allow them (and only them) to access free mana in the first turns to speed up their game plan;
    2) They have Sowing Mycospaw (a card banned in legacy) to ramp themselves (and only them), looking for the lands listed in point one, and to slow down their opponents. That usually happens in turn three, destroying every possible other strategy in opponents' decks. Since it is an ability that triggers on the cast, it isn't easy to interact with if you don't have the exact response. Therefore, everyone is obliged to hard-mulligan in order to search for a single card. That's unfair, as you can comprehend. Worst of all, this card ramps while destroying opponents' lands, creating a great disadvantage.
    In conclusion, it's clear that this deck plays another format, and if you play the format, it' very clear that Eldrazi decks have n necessity to interact with other decks. They just go on playing their own solitaire.

    Especially in Bo1, the most played format in your app, Magic is becoming very boring. Reanimator persist combo is very annoying. Now it consistently closes during the second turn, and it is very difficult (and boring, since the matches are all the same) to play against it in Bo1, since you should always have the exact answer in the first turn.
