Turn time exploit/bug
Been having issues in some matches where my opponents timer does not activate and when it switches to my turn my timer has no time at all to react. It is almost as if my timer activates while on the opponents turn because it takes so long and it basically takes my turn time. This caused me to have issues in my last match because I wasn't able to assign defenders.

Rng is fun
Opponents with libraries of 60+ cards curve perfectly in Diamond, get the perfect interaction playing jank decks.
The ranked ones are not competitive, they are garbage created to waste our time except for the whales or people with influence in the game who will steal the perfect cards every game until they reach the first mythical positions.

Game crashes during matches
Since last Thursday (2/1/24), the app will crash during matches. Not all matches, and I can’t tell what the trigger is, but regularly enough that I’m losing matches because of it. Around 25% of matches. After restarting the app and reconnecting to the match, it still continues to crash.
I’m on an iPad 8th generation, model MYLD2LL/A , iOS 16.6.1.
I’ve tried restarting the game completely, turning my iPad completely off then on again, and even deleting and reinstalling the app. But still having the same issue.

Starter decks not providing the cards, not receiving starter decks from starter deck duel
Starting decks not providing cards, Starter deck duel not providing decks,
I am on PC, returning account first time on steam. My 5 mono color starter decks all say they require 20-40 wild cards to complete. The starter deck duel is also not giving me the decks after winning three times with them. As it is I don't have any decks with which to play the game due to these bugs.

Turn timer problems
The turn timer gets exploited with certain decks where your opponent forces you into using up your turn timer on automatic effects. This issue needs a resolve all button so you don't lose your turn timer for having a life gain upon creatures entering the battlefield combo with gain life = +1+1 counter on target creature. It's ridiculous when somebody uses a convoluted and time consuming combo just to exploit the game's timer mechanism and force you to lose based on time that they themselves created. There needs to be a solution to this if active effects are stacking. Perhaps if the game can be made to recognise heavy stacking and afford the option to assign +1+1 counters or directed damage in bulk amounts.

waiting for server bug
Application gets stuck on "waiting for server" screen while trying to edit some of my decks, editing sideboard seems to be broken as well with decks that manage to get past the waiting bug. Sideboards are unable to be editing or the textures are broken and appear washed out or do not track how many copies of a card there are in the sideboard itself. "Waiting for server" bug is specific and consistent to certain decks it seems, even after rebooting.

Forced draw
Summary: I was forced into a draw because the game wasn't able to resolve a finite stack of triggers fast enough. The game gave me a warning three times that if I do not take another action the game will be a draw but no additional action was available for me to take.
Bug reporting:
1.)I cast Marwyn's Kindness with X being 21
In play: "Rosie Cotton of South Lane", "Samwise Gamgee", and "Mondrak, Glory Dominus".2.)Occurred on the PC client
3.) Game forced a draw despite having multiple win conditions available.
4.) Allowed to finish the stacked triggers without being forced into a draw

Transparency with RNG, algorithms, test results
A few months back I recorded 1000 of my b01 ranked games, including land draws as a proportion of cards seen (drawn/scried/milled/whatever was on top of my deck). I calculated the probability of that land draw using a hyper geometric calculator. I assumed the odds of land draws should follow a normal distribution with the mean being a land draw that is proportionate to the lands in the deck.
I found that games were more likely to be .5 standard deviations away from the mean, in each direction, than they were to be close to the mean. About 22% chance to be .5 standard deviations more lands, about 22% chance to be .5 standard deviations fewer lands, about 16% chance to be close to proportionate.
Why would this be a “double humped” distribution rather than a normal distribution?
I have seen, anecdotally, far more extremely low probability events in this game than I can relate, here’s a few:
Having 6 consecutive games on the draw multiple times daily. If odds are 50/50, there is only a 1.56% of this many games on the draw, or on the play, in a row. However, this 1.5 in 100 probability somehow happens multiple times a day.
I have had drafts where I drew 15 of the 17 lands in the deck in my top 30, or fewer, cards every game, effectively robbing me of the ability to participate in the draft or have a chance to compete. For this to happen in a single game has a less than 1 in 10000 chance. The odds of this happening 3 straight is infinitesimally small.
I have seen and received responses from support that your algorithms are working as intended and have been independently verified. However, with such statistically improbable events happening with such high frequency, these responses raise more questions than they answer. It seems either the algorithms are written with exploitative intent and working successfully, or they are written to simulate true randomness but are not working properly, or something was added as a “helper” which is making the game not work with true randomness but is having unintended consequences that result in some frequently bizarre results.
Where is information published around:
- What the algorithms are intended to do
- The independent verification results
It will be hard for many in the community to trust things are working as designed, and without exploitative intent, without more transparency

Sparky stuck on Color Challenge and Starter Deck duel
I have completed BOTH the 'Color Challenge' and the 'Starter Deck Duels' but sparky is stuck in an endless loop of "Wow, you've beaten all of the color challenges". This is my HOME page and will not allow me to participate in any other events that may show on home screen...PLEASE fix this issue. I cant participate in any in-game events that I can see showing on my friends game but not mine (and we have accomplished the same stuff in game). Very frustrating here. Ive seen forums with 30-40 people with this same issue that dates back to August. You are losing money here folks...

poq
-Broken Mythweaver Poq Interaction-
Playing Mythweaver Poq after playing Ashaya, Soul of the wild, creates an unbreakable game-lock state. If there is no aristocrat type effect in play it ends the game in a draw after 5 mins of non-stop triggers. Please fix this interaction, as most decks that play one want the other. This creates unintentional loops on a regular basis, but also allows a player in a losing position to lock out the game to avoid a loss.

Matchmaking is really fun
I'm playing the new artifact deck that has the "Simulacrum Synthesizer" card in diamond. Obviously a deck full of artifacts with which many players reach mythic easily in record time because it is an extremely good deck currently.
I protect these artifacts from cards like "farewell or Brotherhood's End" with counters although it is not always possible.
Curiously, they only match me against cards like "Karn's Sylex" well into the curve to ***** me and clearly not go up in the ranking since I have no response from artifacts on the sideboard. The algorithm knows how to harm me, it matches me against people who have cards that are perfect answers against your deck even though you know that they are completely out of use and practically no one plays them, in fact, I hadn't seen that card for 8 months, what a coincidence.I have a human deck that counters explorer's vampire rakdos quite a bit. Guess what, the algorithm only matches me 1/22 games against these, another coincidence.
I switch to the typical Azorius control which doesn't go well against this deck and guess what, it's all vampire rakdos.
So tier 1 decks are simply programmed to see fewer counters, which maintains that tier 1 status, otherwise they wouldn't sell as many wilcards. Which shows that it's all a lie and that if you are an average player and you make a creative deck that is good against the meta, you are not going to see that meta. Which shows how corrupt this system is.Don't worry, this doesn't happen to certain YouTubers, influential players or whales. They are never put against cards that counter them, never against good players, it is as if they continually have low mmr and reach mythic without trying (which is strange because they always rise to mythic but face players who make horrible mistakes. as if their mmr was always low), their opponents never give them well-curved cards that bother them, their opponents never draw well, their opponents never barely interact against their plan, etc.
It feels like these people are matched against people who work in woc and let themselves win or new players or with horrendous rng. Good business, since they give them publicity. You're familiar with seeing YouTubers who make decks with less mana than adequate but never get stuck on lands... but they will still win and put up to the fourth land in every game, carrying 23 lands as if nothing had happened, while the rest of the average players You have to give thanks if you put in the third earth, as if you didn't notice it.
They try to make us believe that the competition is not adulterated, but it is not credible. Meanwhile, average players have to be content with a ****** algorithm that never changes even though people have been complaining for years.

mana
You really need to update your algorithm on Mana. Pretty much Arena turns into who gets mana screwed or not to win. Platinum rank trying to climb and reasons i lose is getting mana screwed or get back to back land draws. You guys really need to fix this because its not competitive enough, especially to pay for draft games to qualify when the way to win is determined by not getting mana screwed. Real life i have never added more than 20 lands to a standard deck. on here having to have 25 to 30 to make playable or your screwed. Fix your algorithm with mana and you will have more people who will pay money in tournaments to join. At this point not wasting any more money on this game until Mana Algorithm is fixed.

Systematically stamp out deliberate stalling/roping
Opponents deliberately stalling/roping before death (as a sore-loser tactic to try get the other player to concede) has become so commonplace, that I doubt I'm the only one being driven away from MTGA.
Removing the "earned" timeouts would help alleviate this problem, because all they do is provide the players the "ammunition" they need to stall later in the the game.
I'd also advise shortening the timeout periods, or scaling this depending on the players' ranks (i.e. beginner players get longer turns than matches between veteran players).
In addition, proving a "report player" button directly within the app would also help disuade players from using the stalling tactic.

Mtg Arena - problem server connection
Dear wizards,
This post is to signal a major server connection problem with the mtg arena app.
The game and the app are really amazing, but this problem is seriously ruining it all.
Basically, if you lose internet connection even for just a fraction of a second, the game stall and a message "waiting for the server" appears. But the app never reaches the server again. You can wait for hours looking at this message, but the app will never reconnect. The only way is to shut down the app and starting it again, but this process takes time and, in the meanwhile, you lose the game.
Please belive me, it happenss all the time, even if you lose connection for less than 1 second. And it happens obviously to my opponents as well, as sometimes they just do not play for a while and then suddenly, they start playing again on the following turn, after draining all their timeouts. This is, again, because they had to restart the app to connect again.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS PROBLEM IS NOT RELATEDTO THE DEVICE THAT I USE TO PLAY! It happens on my laptop, as wall as on my i-pad and on my phone.
This is very annoying for many reasons:
1) you spend a lot of time just staring at opponents' timer draining, and then you win the game just because the opponent skipped their turn
2) you spend a lot of time just staring at the 'waiting for the server' message or waiting for the app to restart and load the match again, and then you lose because you skipped one turn;
3) the most interesting part of the game for regular players is to compete for the mythic ranking, and it is annoying and not fair to lose or win according to server connection and not on the basis of the deck and how you play it.Please, please, please, I urge you to solve this problem as soon as possible. It is ruining the whole game.
This game is too good to be ruined in this way. Thanks for your attention,

Talion is bugged
Talion triggers on X spells even though he shouldn’t. My opponent chose 2, and Talion triggered when I cast Old Stickfingers for X=3. This should have had a mana value of 5 on the stack and Talion should not have triggered but it did.
