1. Free Phantom Draft

   Draft is the most inclusive way to play Magic. Everybody picks cards from the same limited pool, you can play regardless of how big your collection already is and your opponents, from the newcomer to the veteran, uses the same cards you could have chosen yourself (to some extent). This also allows the skills of each player to emerge and make the difference, more than in Constructed formats.

   Yet, on Arena, the most inclusive format to play is not the most inclusive to access: the gold/gem entry fee forces people interested in drafting to play Constructed for days before they can afford just one or two drafts per week. Moreover, drafts radically change from set to set and, most of the time, the available set is the most recent one. After two or three months - therefore after a dozen of drafts, if lucky - players have a totally new draft format to learn from scratches, right after getting good at playing the previous one.

   Currently, the only options are either to afford one or two drafts per week, to buy gems with real money or to get good enough to recover the entry fee with the prizes. The last one is extremely difficult with so little events once in a while to practice with. All of these conditions make ranking up the Limited ladder an impossible dream for free to play players and an expensive effort for paying ones.

   Some people in other threads have already suggested a solution: free phantom drafts always available. Drafting every day for free (or for little), without getting the cards we draft with, would bring many more players closer to the format and make it effectively inclusive. It'll give new rookies a fair environment to compete, without the frustration of facing unaffordable decks in Constructed over and over again; it'll give Constructed-experts a broader game experience, making them better wizards in multiple formats and letting them manage evenly their in-game resources; it'll give Limited-experts a greater and more enjoyable challenge, since more people would be able to practice, climb the ladder and compete at the highest level. It's a win-win for everybody.

   To prevent certain exploits, the system might work the same way as Jump In!: resigning before the end of the card selection would not change the cards you get to find in the boosters. The same small entry fee of 1000 gold / 200 gems may be considered, if it helps discouraging unfairness without compromising on accessibility.

   The Final Fantasy set brought so many new people into Magic: The Gathering. A new set is coming and the risk of losing a large majority of fresh players just because they don't have the right cards to have fun playing Constructed is real. We already have phantom drafts once in a while as Midweek Magic events, so the proposal is nothing brand new. It's all about making it a staple instead of an alternative. It's about letting all of us enjoy our favourite game in our favourite way, once per day instead of once per week. Draft deserves more love and our love deserves more drafts.

2. New additions to arena

   Hello. I have a few things I’d like to suggest. First, can you add commander to arena? It’s my favorite format of magic. Second, can you include collabs that you made in physical cards but not in arena (Jurassic Park, Doctor Who, Fallout, etc.) lastly, it is frustrating beacause I want a deck off of Gishath, sun’s avatar but continually don’t get him it LCI packs. Could you add a feature where players can browse, search and buy individual cards. My suggestion for an average price per card is 500 coins or 10 gems. Thanks

3. Jump-In-Event is stuck - I cannot resign and play on

   Jump-In-Event is stuck

   (I play on PC, on Windows 10)

   I am unable to play the event again. When trying to play again, it only shows "home" after going to jump in..
   I cannot start a new game, I cannot resign.

   Jump-In is my favourite format and I spend all my gold on it.

   Please help me, so I can continue playing it.

   (Before I reported the bug, I went on "Repair Game files". But it did not help. The game is still stuck. I cannot play Jump-In.)

4. Ranked Matchmaking

   Hey,

   here comes another complain about your completely rigged matchmaking (I know you get those a lot and that's why you should probably implement changes, right? RIGHT?).

   So first let's talk about ranked: Why is it, that every time I build a new deck, I suddenly get match-ups that are clearly responses to that new decks game plan or mechanics?

   Matchmaking, in ranked play specifically, should just be getting a random opponent from within the same tier, without any additional filtering or manipulation. That' what would be fair. Everything else is not.

   When we are not talking about ranked, you can use some other metrics like for example the players total card pool for the individual format or overall win rating. But you should never ever base matchmaking around the decks themselves. So why is this a thing? Whom does this help and how is it more fun?

5. MAGIC ARENA : missing card + combo bug

   Here are 2 points that aren't normal on Magic Arena :

   1. The card “ Consulate Dreadnought “ should be available on Magic Arena when ”Pioneer" format is selected during deck building…that's not the case.

   2. Bug report : the combo " Storm Herald + Burning Anger + Colossification " is impossible to play.

   In fact, when Colossification and Burning Anger are in the graveyard, we should cast Storm Herald, bring back Colossification and Burning Anger from graveyard, with the tap trigger on the stack, activate Burning Anger and deal 23 to the opponent. The problem is that the tap trigger never come.

6. Sideboard cards get moved down to "Best of Three Only" when I save the deck

   I have a deck set to Traditional Historic format. I use it to play both BO3 and BO1. It's important that my Wish targets are in the top 7 sideboard cards so that they are available when I play BO1.

   • I have clicked the arrows in the sideboard to move those Wish targets up into the top seven.
   • I click "Done" to save the deck.
   • I re-open the same deck again.
   • The Wish targets that I carefully moved up are now back into the Best of Three Only section.

   Why does it not properly save my sideboard order?

7. Adjust Cindercone Smite and Rising Chicane for Alchemy

   Cindercone Smite is widely considered to be comparatively worse than Burst Lightning in the same format. No other red damage spell is only able to do 2 damage exclusively to creatures. I think buffing it would do well to get more non-starting-player bonuses into decks. I love those cards and I think they should be ubiquitous in alchemy.

   My suggestion for Rising Chicane is that it be should be able to be a creature during your first main phase. This would make it work much better with all the equipment that just released with Final Fantasy.

8. Arena shuffler issues on recent patches

   In the past few patches, the shuffler has been noticeably worse in all formats (I play bo1, bo3, and draft). Today was the final straw as for all of my draft games I either could not draw a land or only drew lands, and it has been incredibly frustrating to have rng so poor that I do not see an equivalent in paper. The shuffler did not have these issue about 4-6 months ago, but something in the recent patches has made things significantly worse. Was hoping it would get fixed with time but it has not

9. Please do something for historic BO1

   Please do something for historic BO1. It's becoming very boring and repetitive. 85% of the matches are against Eldrazi or Reanimator, both very boring to have against. Most of the time, I quit the app and I play other games and apps way more satisfying. Please consider rebalancing the format, since it's boring and you lose players. Reanimator, with the new additions, consistently closes the game on the second turn, and I don't understand why Eldrazi should ramp so much and be able to destroy land in the early game, while all the other decks don't have the same possibility.

    My name is Matthew R. Hannon, and I want to begin by thanking you for creating and continuing to nurture one of the greatest games ever made. Magic: The Gathering has been a meaningful part of my life across multiple decades, and I wanted to share a bit of my story along with a humble request.

    I first started playing Magic just before the release of Ice Age and continued through Exodus (roughly 1994–1998). Like many players, I eventually drifted away from the game for a time—about 23 years in my case. In 2021, as a man in my late 30s looking for healthier hobbies beyond food and alcohol, I found myself drawn back to Magic. The “Magic” of Magic—pun fully intended—was immediate. From the moment I built my first deck again, I was hooked.

    I chose the Modern format because it captured the feel of the Magic I knew and loved, while still offering room for creativity, competition, and evolution. Since returning, I’ve also become a father, advanced in my career, and grown as an active member of my church. Life is busier now, which sometimes makes it hard to find time to visit my local game store for paper play.

    That’s why I’m writing to ask you to please consider bringing the Modern format to MTG Arena. While paper Magic will always be where my heart lies, Arena offers a convenient and beautifully designed way to enjoy the game when time is limited. I believe many players like me—longtime fans who love Modern—would eagerly make the transition to Arena if the format were available.

    I understand this is a significant investment, but I truly believe the payoff would be enormous. Modern is beloved by a large, passionate player base, and introducing it to Arena could bring many veteran players home to the platform.

11. Quest "Play 3 Quick draft" not working with quick draft from FF

    Played 10+ game of quick draft for the quest "play 3 quick draft" with 1000 gold to win and unlocking next quests, doesn't work at all (no progress no matter how many game played , won or not)

    I'd love to be able to win rewards to unlock cards to play other formats without paying but with bugs like that it's so annoying, it's just wasting my time...

12. Separate Rank ladders/ Rewards

    All formats should have separate ranked ladders for players to climb. Each format takes its own skills and knowledge. Where your game knowledge is in one, is not necessarily where you are in another and it gives players something else to do when they hit their peak rank. You don't give us enough to do anyways; we complete our weekly wins in a single day. At the very least let us choose which card styles we want as a reward like a "card style" wild card Instead of giving us something random that we may never ever use. that's not a reward that's as disrespectful as throwing pennies to a homeless person after all the work we put in.

13. Missing option to view Deck and Sideboard at the same time and move cards between them

    Hello,

    When building your deck, it should be possible to see both the deck and the sideboard. So that you only see and have to work with the cards you have already selected for your deck.

    It should also be possible to move cards directly from one to the other.

    It should be possible to have an unlimited number of cards in your sideboard while building your deck. And also to save. The message about how many cards in which format are allowed in the sideboard is completely sufficient.

    This would make building decks much easier, more convenient, and more user-friendly.

14. 4 Pioneer-legal cards are incorrectly not playable in Pioneer despite being on Arena

    Those cards are Furnace Whelp, Garruk's Packleader, Raise Dead, and Stormfront Pegasus.

    • Furnace Whelp is Pioneer-legal via Magic 2015 (M15), and is on Arena via Jumpstart (JMP).
    • Garruk's Packleader is Pioneer-legal via Magic 2015 (M15), and is on Arena via Foundations Jumpstart (J25).
    • Raise Dead is Pioneer-legal via Welcome Deck 2017 (W17), and is on Arena via the Arena Beginner Set (ANA or ANB).
    • Stormfront Pegasus is Pioneer-legal via Welcome Deck 2017 (W17), and is on Arena via Arena Anthology 4 (AA4) under its printing from Magic 2010 (M10).

    Interestingly, all four are Pioneer-legal because they were in a non-booster product, with Furnace Whelp and Garruk's Packleader being in the Magic 2015 sample decks, while Raise Dead and Stormfront Pegasus were in the 2017 Welcome Decks. All cards in the Magic 2015 sample decks are legal in any format where the Magic 2015 (M15) main set is legal, and all cards in Welcome Deck 2017 (W17) are legal in any format where Amonkhet (AKH) is legal. I should add that Sphinx of Magosi was in Pioneer Masters (PIO), and its only printings in Pioneer-legal sets are in Welcome Deck 2016 (W16) & Welcome Deck 2017 (W17).

    Attached are screenshots showing what happens when you attempt to include those four cards in a Pioneer deck on Arena, as well as a screenshot with the printing in a Pioneer-legal set for each card.

    Those cards are Furnace Whelp, Garruk's Packleader, Raise Dead, and Stormfront Pegasus.

15. Gravitic Herald warp effect

    Gravitic Herald, the A25 card, as worded, gives the permanent it seeks the warp ability until end of turn. However that doesn't happen - once the card is warped in it loses the ability, even though its only meant to lose the ability at end of turn. This matters because, as worded, it should be a 1 card combo with Acererak the Archlich, as it bounces itself immediately, and so shouldn't lose the ability. Please fix this or reword the card so it explains how it works - like for example other alchemy cards of this format give a perpetual ability, and they lose the perpetual ability as they etb. thanks

16. Play Button is disabled in All Formats - Bug

    Hello, For over 24 hours now I haven't been able to access any game mode in MTGA (Standard, Brawl, Bot vs. Game, etc.). The "Play" button is disabled in all formats except color Challenge, which works. This started after a disconnection in the middle of a match. I've completely reinstalled the game, cleared the cache, and checked my connection, but the problem persists. I suspect my account is stuck on the server in an invalid state. Could you please check my account status and unlock it? My MTGA username is: Infinitx . Thank you for your help.

17. Failure to launch

    PC player, since the latest update (Sept 3, 2025), when I start the application it does the first couple steps (initializing, verifying card database, requesting format data) but when it gets to/past Loading Initial Screen, the screen goes black except for the cursor. I have tried a few times now over a couple days and get the same result.

    I am hesitant to uninstall/reinstall because I haven't been able to successfully complete a download for MTGA for years now without it stalling out so that I have to force close the application and try again (usually takes 3-4 attempts for updates).

18. Tibalt's Trickery deck legality

    I've played a Traditional Ranked Pioneer match in MTG Arena using a Tibalt's Trickery deck. Enjoying the experience, I've searched online to recreate the deck. However, when attempting to build it in MTG Arena, the game flagged Tibalt's Trickery as illegal in the Pioneer format, leading to confusion about the card's legality.

19. You guys couldn't run a hamster wheel

    Ya'll couldn't balance a ship in the ocean or run a freaking hamster wheel. You ban Strip Mine (well deserved) in every format including brawl but then don't ban BS like Lurrus of the Dream Den? A card that literally is unbalanced due to the Companion mechanic? You guys let stuff like Jodah and Prismatic Bridge stay in brawl? I know your team is too incompetent to curate brawl at all and just leave it to its own devices but if that's the case, then don't ban a card that works to counter these decks. JFC WotC are the laziest, dumbest, most worthless people around.

20. Mana

    In all my years of playing paper magic I have never encountered mana issues as much as on arena. Every game you either flood out or can’t draw a single source of a color. Running a 3 color deck in draft with the mana split of 8 sources 8 sources and 7 sources and managing to somehow not draw a single color is absurd. Once in a while sure it happens. But in a single draft to have mana problems on say 4 out of a possible 9 games is insane. The “algorithm” has an issue that seriously needs addressed.
    Along with that. Playing in any format the amount of times it feels like you lose the coin toss and play second is crazy. Someone needs to track how many times they go second and see if it truly is 50/50 because it honestly feels like a 25/75 split and I’m on the losing end of that coin toss a lot. When playing formats where aggro is king it makes the game way less enjoyable when you immediately start on the back foot. Then a diety help you if you happen to run into the very very common mana issues along with playing second.
