Review/Insight on Spells/Effects/Abilities
Can we get some reviews as to whether or not some spells actually work in game? Newer member to the Magic community but when it comes to spells, abilities, and effects the rules seem very straight forward as to just follow what the card says. So please correct me if I'm wrong and please provide some insight as to why so I have a better understanding.
My example of this as it happened to me last night playing Brawl in Arena. I was using my commander to attack, my opponent had a creature with Deathtouch. Knowing this, I played the instant spell Not Dead After All, and applied it to my commander which would allow my commander to die but then return to the battlefield tapped. This was not the case. My commander died and was sent back to the command zone and the mana cost to cast was increased, it never went back to the battlefield as the Not Dead After All card described it would. As a side note, my opponent had no cards in his hand to perform a counter spell.
When doing a google search, google says Deathtouch does not negate spells so I'm just a bit confused as to why my spell didn't work on my commander. The only thing I can think of is maybe because my commander has Ward the spell didn't activate, but I thought Ward was for enemy spells and not my own. Double checking the rule book, it states Ward is for enemy spells/abilities

no numbers playing on my mobile
using my mobile (Android) to play and can't see most of the numbers within the application. also importantly includes life total number within game play.

Game randomly stops accepting my input
When playing(mobile, android), the game will think I'm not doing anything. Example: turn 1 I play a land and nothing happens, then after a while the game timer comes on as if I was sitting idle and not doing anything. I can only get back to it by completely closing the app and reopening it. It's happened a lot and it happens the same way every time. Whenever I log back in it, the text on the loading screen is all wonky and just says "discription" in letters that look more like The One Ring. Then when I get back in the board is all fractured and weird. Screenshots included of the weird writing and the fractured looking field.

esper sentinel
historic brawl
1) have esper sentinel with 2 +1/+1 counters on it, opponent has alesha and enduring courage on the field.

Poison Counter Decks
Poison counter decks should be nerfed! Those who set up their decks for poison counter wins, just cannot be beat unless you either setup your whole deck, specifically just to counter them, or you just get lucky with your card draw while your opponent gets unlucky. Which entirely defeats the point of a so called strategy game! At least add something like "Leeches" to Arena! Even if it doesn't remove counters! Just something that can be used to allow you 1 to 2 rounds of tempo!
It's like there just are no good answers to poison counters whatsoever!

Bug — Ozzie the Phoenix King
Ozai the Phoenix King, when cast on Main Phase 1 with two untapped lands skips to declare attackers steps immediately upon resolution. After declaring him as an attacker, opponent gains and maintains priority throughout combat phases. There is no opportunity to tap two lands, to get to 6 unspent mana and grant him flying and indestructible. Opponent can declare blockers, and then damage assignment immediately occurs. when combat ends the turn is over - Main Phase 2 is also skipped.
This bug occurred in two matches in the same Quick Draft BO1.

Guy is purposely letting the counter count down and then taking his turn at the last second and just wasting everyone's time cuz he's a big fat sore loser

issues about game play
Is there any hope about you guys putting actual game play back into the game or is it a lost cause? If you really wanted to make money for the game you would start with the biggest problem and that is the short gam play. Make the pros be real pros and make them build decks that use the higher end cards, then all the meta players would have to buy wild cards to play the meta decks...and if they can't then they really are not a pro are they. Magic got big because of the game play and last time they pushed for pure profit it almost cost them everything, because when the powercreep got too bad they had to reverse it and most of the players they catered to left because they had to actually play and a lot of the guys that were spending and enjoyed the game had left because of the catering. I've been with magic since the beginning and honestly my demographic is the one you want to cater to, been around long enough to get hooked on the game and my job pays very well so I have the disposable income. I used to drop 4 digits a month on magic but I haven't spent a dime in a very long time ever since the rest of my group left. I get wanting new players but it isn't worth it if it costs you established players that are willing to spend. And my play group used to buy 4-5 boxes every month ( and that was per player) , now you get nothing from me and I'm the last one and Im ready to quit depending on your reply or lack of one.

Temporarily Switching Apps Ends Game abruptly
I don’t have any files, but I was switching between apps to check some texts while I was playing a brawl match and the game just abruptly ended. It was frustrating.

gemstone caverns & devourer of destiny
On the draw if you have both Gemstone Caverns and Devourer of Destiny (assume other pre-game effect too) then there is a classic race condition where if gemstone caverns pre-game effect resolves first and you choose the other card with a pre-game effect then the other card's effect will not trigger.
For example many many times having both Caverns and Devourer in opening hand if I exile Devourer to the caverns then 50% of the time the devourer won't trigger and the other half it will. I learned to look and see if the Devourer shows the eye to indicate it was revealed while resolving the cavern's trigger to know if I can safely exile it to the caverns and still get the devourer's trigger.
Like I said this is behaving like a classic race condition in coding. I haven't bothered to keep track of a specific example since it's been happening so long I assumed it was known until looking today. It's incredibly easy to reproduce though just have opening hands with caverns and devourer multiple times to test. What should happen is for it to always resolve both abilities regardless of which one resolves first.
I am playing on the steam version.

Enchantment didn't go to graveyard but was forced attached to my own creature
I had enchanted enemy creature with frogify, but when I killed the creature, the enchantment didn't go to graveyard I was forced to reattach it to my own creature. rage quit?...

Miirym, Sentinel Wyrm
MTGA 100 card casual brawl queue.
Opponent has 4 lands:
* Copperline Gorge
* Frontier Bivouac
* Mountain
* ForestNo other permanents in play, no other cards in exile, or in the graveyard.
He has 4 mana - and plays Miirym, Sentinel Wyrm - a 6 mana spell.
I guess it's time for me to delete MTG Arena.
I keep getting 10 mana in a row, and the opponent only needs 4 mana to cast a 6 mana spell - what's the point?

Can't play Combo Decks due to Timeout
I played Scapeshift Combo in Pioneer and my opponent got rid of Thassa's Oracle, so I had to mill him with Ipnu Rivulet, which takes for Eternity. Unfortunatly, my timer ran off and I lost, which had to be a win

- Thought that was odd because I definitely own copies.

error with enchantment flash and counter spell
i had a counter spell, to counter an enchantment with flash, after play the enchantment, i CANT COUNTER IT
but the counter and the mana was there, i never get the priority on the table to counter it

phenomena recorder
playing on android, have krenko without summoning sickness and phenomena recorder on the field, opponent casts a spell with hullbreaker horror, targets krenko with HH trigger, i activate krenko and stack the PR trigger on top of that, the stack is minimized and shows the krenko trigger that CAN be copied but everything is so small that I simply can not click on the krenko trigger. see attached.

infinite loop that the game does not stop or forces a draw or loss
Bug related to my opponent having "Angel of suffering". I had "Syr conrad, the grim" On the trigger of his Mesmeric orb this created a loop in my turn where whenever a creature entered the graveyard my creature triggers and the preventing of the damage from the Angel him also having "Emrakul, the Aeons thorn" this made it that my timeout went out after his, i was able to take priority and tap out my mana and ended the turn, on his turn with Mesmeric orb you get stuck in the 3 different triggers that go off for more than 20 min.
Bug related to my opponent having "Angel of suffering".
