To Report a Bug or Provide Feedback

Before reporting a bug, check to see if it has already been reported. In the Issue Title below search for specific key terms from your issue.



Example: Shivan Dragon (Note: Partial words won’t show up, so use “Shivan” instead of “Shiv.”)

If your issue has been reported already, simply click the vote button to show us you’ve experienced that issue as well. If you feel you have additional information that could be helpful to us in tracking down the issue please feel free to add it.

If your bug has not been reported, please do so now! Update the Issue Title to reflect the problem you’ve encountered.

Example: Shivan Dragon doesn’t work

Choose the Category that describes your problem.

Describing the problem in the following fashion helps make clear what happened and allows us to investigate the issue faster.

  1. Summarize the problem
  2. List the steps you took that led to the problem
  3. What was the result that happened when you followed those steps
  4. What was the result you expected to happen when you followed those steps

Example: The life tracker didn’t track my life.

  1. Open the life tracker and start a game
  2. Try to remove or add life to my life total
  3. Actual: my life total didn’t change
  4. Expected: my life total goes up or down
You can provide additional information that can also help us conclude an investigation quickly. Great information to include:

1.  What type of device you’re using
2. What version of your operating system you’re using
3. A screenshot of the issue (Note: it must be smaller than 50 mb in size)
4. Whether re-starting the application and attempting the steps again solved the problem

  2. Card search via photo

    I'd like for the ability to lookup a card by taking a picture of it so I don't have to type the name. This would help make it easier to quickly find a card, especially when I want to lookup rulings related to that card in the middle of a game.

    I would love for this app to add a collection feature where you have a card look up to help me keep track of the cards that I already own and a section for like a wishlist for cards I want or need.

  4. Preferred Pronouns on Pairings

    Would be excellent to be able to have the app show your preferred pronouns on listing as a friction free easy method for everyone to have that information

  7. Win metrics

    I want to know my over all win percentage in each format. This data is being collected by the event. There should be a place to store it at the individual level on each persons profile so that they have access to it at all times. Would be nice to be able to go into each layer (ie see how performance at x event was and how it contributed to over all win rate). This will help players understand their over all skill level and better understand how to improve.

  8. Can’t see backs of cards in database

    When looking in the cards database of companion, I can’t see the back/Night faces of cards.
    I looked in the database for the new Arlinn.
    Found it, clicked on it, and saw its two names separated by //
    In the page, I couldn’t find the second face, not picture or text.
    When I went out to look for the name of the back, I couldn’t fins that listed among the cards.
    I have no way of getting all the information of the double faced cards through this app.

  9. New privacy policy issue

    Everytime I go into companion it boots me to view the privacy policy even though I already read it multiple times. I have been forced to go to it 10 times in a single day and is not great when in a tournament

    It would be handy to search for cards using color identity for Commander.

  11. Add a “my decks” section to the card compendium

    I think it would be really useful to have a section of the card compendium which you can recreate your decklist in. One of my favourite things about MTG is creating and modifying my decks, and it would be really convenient to be able to do that on my phone, on the fly!

    • you could make it customizable, so the player can decide sections for different formats; themes/strategies within the decks.

    • you could add a list OR card picture format to suit the deck builder’s needs

    • (this last one is a long shot) you could even add card recommendations or…

  13. Life total starting at 40

    Is anyone else's companion app consistently starting at 40 during fnm or other sanctioned events (not during the free play life counter, I know how to change that)

  14. Ability to remove tournament from home screen

    The tournament host option does not provide an easy way to remove tournaments. I accidentally hosted a tournament that I cannot get rid of because I cannot start the event without other players. There should be an option on the home screen to swipe and open up a delete button.

    We have an item that will manage this coming down the road. For now, note that after 28 days those events will automatically close and disappear.

  15. Add Horizontal Screen Options

    Ottimizzare l'applicazione per tablet e far vedere lo schermo anche in orizzontale (non solo in verticale)

    Optimize the tablet application and show the screen horizontally (not just vertically)

  17. Card Database Text out of Date

    The card database feature of the Companion app Oracle feature does not work. Rather than displaying the up to date Oracle text of the card, it displays the most recent printed text. As many cards have had errata to update their Oracle text that have not yet had printings with the new text, this makes the feature almost entirely useless. This is made more egregious by the fact that the Gatherer website on mobile advises that Gatherer works better in the Companion app, which is factually untrue.

  18. Life tracker change log

    It would be nice to have some form of change log in the life tracker, since a written history is the base evidence in any life total dispute having no change history shown in the official app seems like a bit of an oversight.

    you should have time in round displayed after match results are submitted. its very important to know.

  20. App keeps crashing, privacy policy won't go away

    The app CONSTANTLY crashes....when I re-open it, I am logged out of my tournament and the privacy policy thing keeps appearing. I have already read it, so FIX THE APP and stop pestering for the unacknowledgable policy.
