Segregate Alchemy in Brawl
Dear WOTC,
It is no shock that 95% of your community hates Alchemy. It's probably one of the worst ideas you have ever come up with. Not only are the cards completely broken, you force players to have to face them in Brawl. Brawl is the closest product you offer to Duel Commander on Arena, yet you don't adhere to its ban list, you make rebalancings that are not logical according to the power level and force feed players the Alchemy card pool. The result is that a Brawl player who wants to get as close as possible to paper magic has to play with a nerfed Guide of Souls or Teferi, time raveler, while its opponents can play Oracles of the Alpha, Mythweaver Poqs and other completely unbalanced cards. This is terribly frustrating, and makes every Brawl player who likes paper magic want to not ever touch the format again. In fact, personally, the only reason I keep playing Brawl is because MTGO is too expensive, otherwise I would have ditched the format years ago.
My suggestions to improve this situation are quite simple:
1 - Segregate Alchemy from Brawl. You can still have an Alchemy Brawl format for those who wish to play with this card pool.
2 - Remove rebalancings such as Teferi, time raveler, guide of souls, etc. in Brawl. They make no sense in a format where you are allowing Chrome moxes and other incredibly powerful cards.
3 - Get more in line with the Duel Commander ban list. There is also no reason to ban cards such as Drannith Magistrate or Medling Mage. I get it, people want to cast their commanders, but these are cards that are part of a game of Commander, and you do not need to infantilize your Arena players.
4 - We are still missing an incredibly large card pool in Brawl, even from very recent sets. Some examples include Pyrogoyf, Broadside Bombardiers, etc, etc. While I understand that including all new cards is a big effort, you are at the same time producing new Alchemy cards 95% of your community hates. Why not devoting that effort to actually include cards you release in paper sets? While I understand your view might not be aligned with mine, I hope you can give a consideration to some of these ideas, which in my honest opinion, they would greatly improve the Brawl experience on Arena.
Kind Regards,
- A MTG enthusiast that has been playing paper magic for over 20+ years :)Dear WOTC,

Matchmaking
The MTG Arena matchmaking system and algorithm for best of one needs to be overhauled. You cannot tell me that it is randomized or a fair matchmaking system whenever I just put together a new deck tonight (Dimir Mill) and proceed to face Azorius Omniscience, 4 out of 5 matches. The 1 match that I didn't play against it, I won because it was an unfair matchup and my opponent was forced to lose due to land flooding.
Stop dictating matches for best of one based on land shorting/flooding and stop doing unfair matches. Let matches be completely randomized. I don't need to draw 7 lands whenever I know I'm going to lose due to the match up. Allow the players to be skilled enough to deal with random deck matches and not win or lose based on what the algorithm says. No one can beat an Omniscience deck on turn four unless they run early graveyard hate. Why match me up against it 4 out of 5 games?
Wizards needs to be open and clear on how the matchmaking and shuffler system works. I understand that best of three is available but it still does the same matchmaking as best of one and takes longer.
There are so many people complaining about the matchmaking in this game it's unbelievable. These types of shuffles don't happen in real life. Get your dev team together and figure it out!

Card draw is broken
Out of 20 games today every single game I have had to mulligan at least 3 times in order to get a land in my hand, then it will be 6 more draws until I get another. There are 46 lands out of 100 cards. This is statisticly impossible without a broken card draw algorithm, instead of an actual 46 percent chance.

Client on Mac not loading due to asset manifest
Hello,
The Mac version of Arena is not loading. It attempts to retrieve the asset manifest, but encounters an error every time, even if I reboot the game through Epic Games.

Creature death that should have survived
In this event, my opponent used a nibelheim aflame to clear the battlefield using a 3/3 Qarsi Revenant. I had several creatures on the field. When I realized my only option was to sacrifice some creatures to boost my Syr Vondham, I did, taking it up to a 6/6, which should have survived the spell which did 3 damage. He got his counters but the spell still killed all of my creatures, including Syr. Why wouldn't that be a viable option to survive damage spells?

Tidus, Yuna's Guardian and Narset, Parter of Veils
I control Tidus, Yuna's Guardian with a +1/+1 counter on it. My opponent controls Narset, Parter of Veils. Tidus dealt combat damage to my opponent. His second ability triggered. Upon resolution, it did nothing. Narset stopped me from drawing the card, but I still expected to be able to proliferate. Tidus's second ability isn't worded like it has a reflexive trigger for the proliferate, but it seems to be functioning as such.

Stop the matchmaking manipulation in BO1 Alchemy!
Alchemy is distorted by matchmaking manipulation.
Even if you build a deck to counter high-usage Tier 1 decks in BO1, you end up not facing those decks at all, making it meaningless.
As a result, the Tier 1 decks maintain their high play rates, which is absurd. Also, when facing clearly inexperienced players, it becomes much more common to get land flood or get stuck on two lands.
This is also extremely frustratin2 votes -
Ragost given ability not considered for priority.
I was playing draft and had 18 life with Ragost, Deft Gastronaut in play and 2 2/2 artifact creature tokens, my opponent attacks me with a 22 trampler and 2 other creatures. I block the non-tramplers with both tokens and click assign blocks, hoping to get a chance to activate their food ability given by Ragost getting me back up to 24 life, and NOT DEAD. When the game immediately assigns combat damage. And I die on the spot.
There have also been other times something similar has happen to me and I'm left standing there wondering what I did wrong, and the conclusion is always nothing.
I've voted on similar issues and apparently the problem has been here since the arena's inception and there is still no good solution for it.
Now I know you can go to full control mode, but that's not a good enough solution, because you have to manually activate it, when the expected behavior is the game to give you a chance to REact, not the player having to PROactivaly forsee that the game won't let them get to the phases they expect and therefore have to manually account for it or be forever doomed to always play in full control mode, making games take at least wice as long and twice as demanding regarding concentration. Now I'm left wondering if this is an incident with Ragost only, maybe some other cards that have static abilities granting activated ones to other permanents, as it's not an ability that the artifacts don't intrinsically have.
But the underlying problem here is that not all abilities and game states are considered when deciding to give a player priority or automatically go to the next game phase. Please do better coding on this. I'd rather have to wait out a timer for 100 games I have lethal beacuse my opponents are time wasting, even if the only thing they can do is to carck a treasure or something, than to lose to the game not giving me priority when I clearly have winning lines.
Left a Log taken after the game, no idea if it helps.

Captain Howler, fails to allow to pay ward cost
Often when targeting Captain Howler, Sea Scourge, the option to target the card and then to pay the two life will automatically fail, and my spell doesn't resolve, and the Captain Howler remains unaffected. Someone should address this issue.

Arachnophobia
An entire set (+more?) based on a VERY COMMON phobia seems either cruel or shortsighted. I saw some physical card previews and I could deal -- but I panicked at the new Arena loading screen. Is there any way to avoid interacting with these cards? If the whole set is nightmare fuel, then it means a hiatus until the avalanche of spiders is out of standard.

Return Creature / Space Craft Bug while Non-Creature
Return single target spells like "Into the Flood of Maw" is able to target and return "Spacecraft" type cards that have NOT yet been stationed or turned into creatures. The Spacecraft at this point are still artifacts.
Please fix this.
Also currenntly Ghalata effect that allows putting into play any number of creature cards is UNABLE to put into play Spacecraft. This proves that Space craft are considered NON-Creature in some cases , while Creature in other cases in their original state. Please fix.

Cube
The current arena cube is horrid, idk who designed it but I'd suggest he take another 5 minutes and do more then add four new cards that do things and maybe have some synergy, it's insulting and proves I'm an idiot for playing 20 drafts of it expecting there's something here I'm missing, not to mention heist is such an obnoxious mechanic I want to put my fist threw a wall while I get scum bagged by someone casually fumbling through their fith draft ever....I'm so angry at my self for giving any credit to you guys, again and again and again I've been let down, a quarter of my time with magic is miserable now after 30 years playing it sucks all around

Deckbuilder not recognizing Lutri, the Spellchaser as a valid Companion
Issue with client recognizing Lutri, the Spellchaser as a valid Companion.
On the deckbuilding page, the client tells you that you cannot have Lutri, the Spellchaser set as your Companion if you have a copy of Lutri within your maindeck, even if your deck otherwise meets Lutri's Companion requirements (each nonland card in your starting deck has a different name). Given that your Companion is not in your 'starting deck,' this is not the expected result.
Interestingly, if you load into a match with such a decklist (an otherwise Lutri-Legal list with a maindeck copy of Lutri,) you actually will have access to Lutri as your Companion in Game 1. During sideboarding, however, the deckbuilder produces the same issue and will not let you start Games 2 or 3 with Lutri as your Companion, even with an otherwise 'legal' deck.
