How to report a bug

1.       Give us the steps to reproduce the bug

2.       Note which platform you’re using (PC, Steam, Mac, Android, or iOS)

3.       Enter the actual results you’re experiencing

4.       Enter the expected results of the feature

5.       Add any relevant screenshots/videos

6.       If you found a workaround, please add workaround steps.

 

Examples of bugs: Incorrect rules interactions, wrong event rewards, issues with client functions like creating decks

    Platform: PC (Windows 10/11, MTG Arena client)

    Steps to Reproduce:

    Launch MTG Arena after the November 2025 update.

    Play a match normally.

    At match end or when UI elements are destroyed/disabled, the client begins stuttering.

    Within seconds, the game freezes and the entire computer becomes unresponsive.

    Expected Result: Game should close connections and clean up UI/audio objects without crashing or freezing the system.

    Actual Result:

    Client stutters, then hard-freezes the PC.

    Logs show repeated NullReferenceException errors in TMP_SubMeshUI.UpdateMaterial() and UnityEngine.Material.GetFloatImpl.

  2. Ban Doc Aurlock in Standard (or at least BO1)

    This enablement with airbending leads to extremely lengthy turns with no win condition in sight as a player often times slowly assembles a stack of 1/1 tokens and eventually passes the turn or worse (exploit/glitch?) causes their opponent to timeout and lose the ability to react. The latter occurs if the opponent has a response that they must continuously acknowledge. The airbending player never seems to time out and can perform the loop as frequently as they wish while causing their opponent to timeout (certain circumstances). This playloop is reminiscent of copycat in Kaladesh Standard or in more recent times…

  3. GreError with 249 tokens

    I had a game end in a GreError draw due to 249 Scute Swarm tokens, with Ashaya, Blossoming Tortoise, and some earthbent Forests.

    For some weird reason, it hung on the Blossoming Tortoise attack trigger, even though that has nothing to do with the tokens?
    (It's a mill/graveyard/return land action, which would have created more tokens, but never got the chance.)

    249 tokens seems like a reasonable number, so maybe it was the 6 +1/+1 counters on each of them?
    There's got to be a way to efficiently store that many tokens and counters, the game engine should be able…

  4. Crashing when casting [[longstalk brawl]]

    Platform IOS
    When I’m playing brawl, if I ever cast [[longstalk brawl]] my game just crashes. To reproduce just cast the spell, I’m not sure if it’s a weird interaction with my deck as a whole so here is the full deck list:

  5. Cards face down in hand

    On Steam / Linux I have never had any issues until today, card in my hand drawn face down. When I played it, the front doesn't load correctly and it gets stuck on the stack, even though the game engine played it correctly and I was able to get to the end of the game, the broken card stayed on the stack the whole time.

  6. Leyline giving bonuses from lifelink before resolution of damages

    In game according to the rule if a creature gets damage equal or superior to its toughness, it die.
    The white leyline (current standard) allows to give bonuses if the controller have more than a certain number of hp.

    Right now I just witness an interaction where the leyline gave bonuses to creature that were 0 in toughness before they die. I understand that lifelink triggers in same time as the damages but the bonus from the leyline that is activated by the life gain from the damage should activate AFTER the resolution of the damage.   7. Affordances for Infinite Mana production / Unlimited card draw engines

    I have been playing around with a pet deck in Arena Standard which can generate infinite mana and unlimited card draw, but the effectiveness of doing so has been stymied by games being forced to a draw or me being forced to cease drawing cards and generating mana by Arena's "stall protection". It seems to believe that no progress is being made in the game state, even though I am continuously drawing cards and developing my field, as well as generating enough mana to cast a way to close out the game.

  8. Loss of MTGA "Additional" Data

    I've been having to redownload the game multiple times for my Android Samsung 24 Ultra. It is also happened on my windows 10 PC. Approximately 13 GB in my windows 10 case and approximately 3.4 GB large on my phone.i re-downloaded it once on my pc, lots the data again, and I've had to download this five times on my phone as nearly every 2 to 3 days it loses the data and needs to re-download MTGA this started happening after the Edge of Eternities set, not sure if that makes a difference or if anything was changed internally in…

  10. [[Case of the Lost Witness]] + [[Ephemerate]] Incorrect rules interactions

    Hello Rules-engine team,

    I belive I encountered a gameplay bug (incorrect rules interaction) while playing arena cube when I attempted to [[Ephemerate]] a [[Fblthp, the Lost]] conjured by [[Case of the Lost Witness]]. Some more observations (log file too big to attach):

    • the spell was put on the stack, but seems to have not fully resolved since the Rebound reminder box didn't get created.
    • the conjured Fblthp did not get put in my hand
    • the ephemerate did go to my graveyard

    This was on PC client.

    Hope this helps spot an issue, and is not me wasting someones time…

  12. Excessive Timeouts when players leave a match on PC using the X in top right by closing app.

    When playing MTGA on PC, if a player leaves during a game by clicking the X and closing the client, the server does not register this and the other player has to suffer through however many 30 second timers the player has until the player times out.

    This happens in at least 25-30% of matches I play during dailies, players get frustrated or realize they are going to lose and X out. I've tested this myself with friends to reverse engineer what was going on. Initially I thought it was players griefing when they were going to lose, then…

  13. Network Error – MTG Arena client fails to fall back to IPv4 (RFC 6555)

    On PC (Steam), MTG Arena repeatedly shows “Network Error” or “Unable to get collection” when IPv6 is enabled.
    The issue occurs on a valid dual-stack network: both IPv4 and IPv6 routes are reachable, but the client never retries on IPv4 if IPv6 stalls.

    Steps to reproduce

    Launch MTG Arena on a Windows system with IPv6 preferred (e.g. Fritz!Box router).

    Start the client — it hangs with Network Error.

    Launch again using:

    C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /c "set PREFERIPV4=true && set UNITYIPV6=0 && start "" "C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\MTGA\MTGA.exe""

    The game connects normally.

  14. I have 22 lands in a 65 land deck and draw nothing but lands every game, fix it

There is no way in a deck where there are 22 out of 65 land cards, where i have 10 lands down, 6 in the graveyard, and 6 left in the deck with a total of 37 cards left in the deck, that I pull 5 lands in a row.   15. Cheating

    MTGA has a serious issue with people summoning and using mana abilities when they don't have any mana available to them. Among other things, some players are just able to ignore the effects of enchantments all together, such ghostly prison, which is supposed to require your oppent to pay 2 for each attack creature. Also, another issuing occurring is watching opponents play cards when they don't have anything in their hand, no abilities triggering to allow then to play from their deck or graveyard.   17. Graveyard cards make it impossible to view/discard a card from hand

    Would like to report a frustrating bug (unless there is an option to avoid this I don’t know about).
    Upon gameplay, I amassed a large amount of cards in my hand and from my graveyard to choose from on my turn. So many cards that I could not choose a card in my hand to discard.   18. Incorrect rules interactions

    When I create a temporary token with the effect of Saheeli, Radiant Creator, Worldwaker Helm creates a temporary Map token that I have to sacrifice just like the token created by Saheeli, Radiant Creator. Additionally, I can’t choose the order of the triggers of Brudiclad, Telchor Engineer and Saheeli, Radiant Creator at the beginning of combat.

  19. iPad 6th gen with iPadOS 17.7.10 crashes frequently

    It seems that there's a memory leak.
    Long sessions, or long games, cause a crash.
    Even browsing the store and swiping across many items.
    As a software engineer, it seems that cards displayed are not managed and disposed when no longer on screen, and this potentially causes a memory leak.
    While this crash may only be apparent on older or low memory devices, I do believe the fix would boost the interface of all platforms.

  20. Lag/Skip post blocks and it appeared like a miscalculation

    PC Windows
    Post blocks blocked a 4/4 Draconotics Engineer with an 8/9 Burrowguard Mentor with shelter on it sheltering a Krenko. Game kind of skipped out post combat and the mentor was gone. It wasn't killed as the krenko did not return to their side of the field, it just disappeared. Maybe I'm missing something but I don't think so
