Grist, Voracious Larva ETB trigger not firing when returned from graveyard by Betor, Ancestor's Voice
ISSUE SUMMARY:
When Betor, Ancestor's Voice returns Grist, Voracious Larva from the graveyard to the battlefield, Grist's enter-the-battlefield triggered ability does not trigger in MTGA. This appears to be a bug, as the interaction should work according to the Comprehensive Rules.EXPECTED BEHAVIOR:
Grist, Voracious Larva has the following triggered ability:
"Whenever Grist or another creature you control enters, if it entered from your graveyard or you cast it from your graveyard, you may pay {G}. If you do, exile Grist, then return it to the battlefield transformed under its owner's control."When Betor, Ancestor's Voice's end-step ability returns Grist from the graveyard to the battlefield, Grist IS entering from the graveyard, which satisfies the trigger condition. Therefore, the ability should trigger, allowing the player to pay {G} to transform Grist into Grist, the Plague Swarm.
ACTUAL BEHAVIOR:
In MTGA, when Betor returns Grist from the graveyard to the battlefield, Grist's ETB ability does NOT trigger at all. The creature simply enters as a 1/2 creature with deathtouch and remains on the battlefield without offering the option to pay {G} to transform.STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
1. Have Grist, Voracious Larva in your graveyard.
2. Control Betor, Ancestor's Voice and meet its end-step conditions (have gained and lost life during the turn).
3. During your end step, use Betor's ability to target Grist in your graveyard and return it to the battlefield.
4. Observe that Grist enters the battlefield but its ETB trigger does not go on the stack.CARDS INVOLVED:
- Betor, Ancestor's Voice (TDC #1)
- Grist, Voracious Larva // Grist, the Plague Swarm (MH3 #251)RULES BASIS:
According to CR 603.10a, a zone-change trigger triggers when an object moves from one zone to another. Grist's ability is an enters-the-battlefield trigger with an intervening if condition ("if it entered from your graveyard"). Since Betor's ability moves Grist directly from the graveyard to the battlefield, the condition is met and the trigger should fire.Additionally, per the official rulings on Grist, Voracious Larva: "If Grist, Voracious Larva leaves the battlefield while its triggered ability is on the stack, you can't exile it from the zone it's put into, so you won't return it to the battlefield transformed under its owner's control." This ruling confirms that the card IS intended to have this trigger work when entering from the graveyard.

Cost of brilliance/Return the Favor, can’t choose no creature
My opponent had one creature on the battlefield and cast Cost of Brilliance. I played Return the Favor to change the target of the player to me for drawing cards & losing life. When it came time to select UP TO ONE target creature to put a +1/+1 counter on, MTG arena would not allow me to not choose the opponent’s creature or any creature. I was in danger of timing out my action, so I chose “cancel” hoping that it would cancel that part of the spell, but not cancel what I had already selected as myself to draw the cards & lose life. Instead, what happened was that all the effects of Cost of Brilliance were cancelled, and that I cast it for nothing. My opponent was able to draw the cards & lose life, as well as put a +1/+1 counter on their creature, and I was out one less card in my hand because I cast it and it did nothing.
This is playing on the latest client, on iOS version 26.5. I did not get a screenshot showing I couldn’t choose to not target a creature, but I got screenshots showing the spells cast in my graveyard and my opponents graveyard.

Targeted removal does not work anymore
As of today not targeted removal (destroy) does work anymore. Exile effects seem to work as an Ugin could exile a card but Awaken the honored dead, Bitter Triumph and so on do nothing. The card gets played, a card targeted and then nothing.
Happens for everybody as I just had a game where my opponnent had that problem and I myself had it two games in a row now.
At this stage the game is not playable!
Thankfully no ranked because then I would be ******.And great I can not attach the logfile as .log is not allowed (invalid filetype). WTF!

Swiftfoot boots
A creature equipped with Swiftfoot Boots can still be targeted by Bitter Triumph.
Bitter Triumph specifically does target, so under normal rules, it should fail because of hexproof.
But in-game, it destroys the creature equipped with Swiftfoot boots. It happens both on PC and Mobile.

After winning, gold coins not properly added to my total
I noticed that after winning games the gold coin rewards were not always added to my total. This means I can't buy as many packs as I'd like.

Painter Servant Effects Don’t Go Away
Painter’s Servant continues to affect the cards in play after it is removed from the battlefield. This bug can be reproduced by playing a Painter’s Servant and choosing any color. I believe the effect typically stays on cards that were in hand and on the board while he was in play. Any cards drawn after that do not have the color modification. I am playing on an iPad. The card (when pressing and holding to enlarge it and see details) will explain that it is still Painter’s color when he is gone, so I think it’s beyond a visual bug. I haven’t had any relevant color-specific interactions with an incorrectly modified creature, so I’m not sure if it’s only visual or not. It has happened almost every game.

Feedback Regarding Competitive Brawl on MTG Arena
Hello,
I would like to share some feedback regarding MTG Arena and better understand a few design decisions that, from my perspective as a long-time Magic player, seem difficult to justify.
First of all, I believe that Competitive Brawl should be a balanced format, just like the other competitive formats available on the platform. I understand that Wizards of the Coast does not officially support Duel Commander as a format to promote. However, it feels inconsistent that cards such as Guide of Souls and Ocelot Pride are only available in their rebalanced versions, while the format still allows extremely powerful cards like Channel, Dark Ritual, Force of Will, and even Alchemy-exclusive cards. In my opinion, those cards are more appropriate for a casual or fun-oriented environment than for a competitive format.
Brawl is the closest digital equivalent to Commander, currently one of the most popular ways to play Magic. Since MTG Arena does not yet support four-player Commander games, I believe Competitive Brawl would benefit from taking inspiration from the closest tabletop alternative: Duel Commander, which already has an established competitive ruleset and philosophy.
If aligning the format with Duel Commander is not the direction Wizards intends to take, I would at least encourage the team to rebalance Competitive Brawl by adjusting its overall power level. Removing some of the most powerful cards, as well as cards that do not exist in tabletop Magic, could create a healthier and more skill-focused competitive environment, rather than one that often feels like a race to resolve the most powerful spells first.
I am an active Duel Commander player and have greatly enjoyed playing Competitive Brawl on MTG Arena. My intention with this message is not simply to criticize the current state of the format, but to share feedback from the perspective of someone who genuinely enjoys competitive Magic and would like to see Brawl become an even stronger and more balanced experience.
Thank you very much for taking the time to read my feedback. I sincerely appreciate your willingness to listen to player suggestions and concerns. I hope these comments can contribute, even in a small way, to the continued improvement of MTG Arena and the experience it offers to its community.
Thank you for your time and for your continued work on Magic: The Gathering.
Kind regards,

Could not Resolve, Stack, or Concede
Was playing with the new Alchemy card Advanced Floral Invocations. I had Elesh Norn Mother of Machines, Traveling Chocobo, Necrobloom, Icetill, Explorer and Tireless Tracker on the field as creatures along with Advanced Floral Invocations. After playing a land and the triggers started to happen. I was unable to resolve the triggers and had to hard close the game as I was unable to concede.

Summitfest Closing Ceremony Major Bug: Summitfest Closing Ceremony's "Covercast" ability does not function at all
[Bug Description]
The "Covercast" ability on "Summitfest Closing Ceremony" is completely broken and fails to trigger/intensify under any circumstances.Even when casting an instant or sorcery spell where 5 or more mana was actually spent to cast it, while "Summitfest Closing Ceremony" is in the graveyard, hand, or on the stack, its intensity never increases.
Importantly, during testing, "Phoenix of Iteration" in the same graveyard triggered successfully under the exact same condition (proving that the game properly recognized 5 or more mana was spent). However, "Summitfest Closing Ceremony" completely ignored this and failed to intensify. The card's intensity tracker remains stuck at its starting value of 3.
[Steps to Reproduce]
1. Have both "Summitfest Closing Ceremony" and "Phoenix of Iteration" in the graveyard.
2. Cast an instant or sorcery spell by spending 5 or more mana to do so (e.g., using cost modifiers or natural 5+ costs).
3. "Phoenix of Iteration" triggers successfully because 5+ mana was spent.
4. "Summitfest Closing Ceremony" completely fails to intensify, despite the identical condition being met.[Bug Description]

I was in a MSH premier draft when i clicked ready i got kicked out of arena and had to download files all
The kicking out loged me out and made me have to restart everything with a big download so i was logged back in at the end of pack 2 and i wont be winning anything with the autopicked draft selection.
It would be nice to be recompensated for my prrmier draft buy in since the crash was sudden and not my fault1 vote -
Avatar Discrepancy
Purchased a Hawkeye - Kate Bishop avatar in the shop - but the full splash image in intro / exit screens is not the same as the (much much nicer) player image in game. The image used for the splash is significantly worse - mostly due to the huge smile. Please remove the smile and replace this image as it is false advertising (and no one will prefer it as is).

Shrines not tracking older shrines for ETBs
I played The spirit of oasis with Go-shintai of the lost wisdom and sanctum of the calm waters but only drew 1 card. Is this how its supposed to work? All the cards are shrines but they don't trigger off each other.

whenever I would attempt cast a spell to or activate an ability the game wouldn't let me select targets
I was participating in a premium draft. whenever I would try to station my land, or cast a spell, the game would seemingly get stuck waiting for input, even though it wouldn't get to the point of allowing me to select a target. this meant I was unable to cast removal in the event and unable to use any activated abilities. the most frustrating part was that to my opponent it seemed like I was timing out as he kept saying "your go".

Extraction Specialist not working as intended -- creature can attack and block while they control Extraction Specialist
I just played a game where the opponent used Extraction Specialist to reanimate Coppercoat Vanguard from the graveyard, then attacked with both creatures on the following turn. I believe this is not how that card is intended to work. I've provided a screenshot where the issue occurred -- I could provide game files if requested but I imagine the issue is trivial to replicate? Thank you.
