rite of flames etc

getting to see more cards added to the game yet unable to be purshased or played is frustrating, as a ruby storm player seeing a card able to conjure rite of flames yet i can't build with rite of flame nor with pyretic ritual nor desperate ritual, adding seething song and manamorphose recently made this particular deck able to be played but mana is clanky

but the real problem isn't in my specific frustration, it lies on the fact conjured cards are often not playable cards, i understand the case of oracle of the alpha since it is the power nine, but the rest is pretty sickening, ponder was coded but not playable for mounth or years and it was fixed, but it keeps hapening and it's sad to see cards existing in the game but not collectable

alchemy cards are unapealing and besides brawl that particular card i mentionned (salacinder and soot, rascals) is not playable in a classic ruby storm list for timeless, i don't think it is even playable in historic so please just give us the cards you put in with those as you release them, it would only enrich the cardpool and it is already coded

Balance de economía comodines/ Wildcards economy balance (english/spanish)

English:
I am writing to express my strong disagreement with the commercial and management policies that the corporation has implemented for some time now. I consider the mandatory investment of mythic and rare wildcards in cards that have reprints at lower rarities in other physical formats or editions to be a systematic abuse. Furthermore, the drastic alteration of power levels within formats without equitable compensation for users is deeply concerning.

Below is a comparative analysis of the current state of the formats:
- Timeless: Initially conceived as a format with a power level similar to Modern (the Counterspell environment), it has evolved into an ecosystem akin to Vintage, or perhaps even beyond, given the lack of effective restrictions on cards such as Strip Mine, among others (I propose the addition of Wasteland).
- Historic: Originally the highest-level format on the platform, it is currently perceived as an undefined blend between Modern and Pioneer.
- Pioneer (formerly Explorer): Perceived as a transitional format with purely commercial ends, where users were "forced" to spend wildcards on cards that lack utility in the current meta game.
- Alchemy: A format designed exclusively to house its own digital mechanics and cards—or at least, that is how it should be.

Restructuring Proposal
In order to balance the game's economy and respect the investment (time and money) of the players, I propose the following measures:
- Segregation of Alchemy: Prohibit the use of Alchemy cards in any format that is not strictly its own.
- Wildcard Restitution: Refund mythic and rare wildcards spent (while allowing users to keep cards obtained from packs) in cases where the card's original edition, or at least one of its physical versions, is common or uncommon. In these instances, the lower-rarity version should be provided for free.
- Regulation of Rarities for Commercial Purposes: The inclusion of cards whose only means of acquisition is through rare or mythic wildcards, when said cards have historical editions at lower rarities, shall be considered an abusive practice.
- Acquisition Alternatives: When a card is implemented solely via a special illustration, the system must mandatorily provide a standard version without alternative art, with a wildcard cost that is lower and consistent with its rarity in other editions.
- Unification of Ban List Criteria: Synchronize ban lists proportionally with their reference formats in tabletop play.

Incentives and Sustainability for the Corporation
Understanding that a financial equilibrium must exist, this proposal includes advantages for the company:
- Valorization of Special Art: Cards with special illustrations (borderless, retro, anime, etc.) will maintain their maximum rarity status and can only be acquired using mythic wildcards, thereby justifying the additional work of the illustration and development teams.
- Management of Restricted Cards: All cards that are part of a restricted list in any format must be acquired exclusively through mythic wildcards, given their high power level and impact on the game.
- Non-Refundable Monetary Policy: Wildcard purchases via real money or gems in the store will not be subject to refunds; user compensation will be limited strictly to the adjustment of the wildcard economy due to rarity disparity as previously outlined.

Me dirijo a ustedes con el propósito de manifestar mi gran disconformidad ante las políticas comerciales y de gestión que la corporación ha implementado desde hace tiempo. Considero un abuso sistemático la obligatoriedad de invertir comodines míticos y raros en cartas que cuentan con reprints en rarezas inferiores en otros formatos físicos o ediciones. Asimismo, resulta preocupante la alteración drástica en el nivel de potencia de los formatos sin que exista una compensación equitativa para los usuarios.

A continuación, presento un análisis comparativo del estado actual de los formatos:
- Timeless: Concebido inicialmente como un formato de potencia similar a Modern (el entorno de Counterspell), ha evolucionado hacia un ecosistema propio de Vintage, o incluso superior, dada la ausencia de restricciones efectivas sobre cartas como Strip Mine, entre otras (Propongo la adición de Wasteland).
- Historic: Originalmente el formato de mayor nivel en la plataforma, actualmente se percibe como una amalgama indefinida entre Modern y Pioneer.
- Pioneer (anteriormente Explorer): Se percibe como un formato de transición con fines meramente comerciales, donde se "obligó" al gasto de comodines en cartas que carecen de utilidad en el meta juego actual.
- Alchemy: Un formato diseñado exclusivamente para albergar sus propias mecánicas y cartas digitales, o así debería ser.

Propuesta de Reestructuración
Con el fin de equilibrar la economía del juego y respetar la inversión (tiempo-dinero) de los jugadores, propongo las siguientes medidas:
- Segregación de Alchemy: Prohibir el uso de cartas de Alchemy en cualquier formato que no sea estrictamente el suyo.
- Restitución de Comodines: Devolución de los comodines raros y míticos invertidos (manteniendo las cartas obtenidas en sobres) en aquellos casos donde la edición original de la carta, o al menos una de sus versiones físicas, sea de rareza común o infrecuente. En estos casos, se debería otorgar la versión de menor rareza de forma gratuita.
- Regulación de Rarezas por Fines Comerciales: Se considerará una práctica abusiva la inclusión de cartas cuya única vía de adquisición sea mediante comodines raros o míticos cuando dicha carta posea ediciones históricas de menor rareza.
- Alternativas de Adquisición: Cuando una carta se implemente únicamente mediante una ilustración especial, el sistema deberá prever de forma obligatoria una versión estándar sin arte alternativo, cuyo costo de comodines sea inferior y coherente con su rareza en otras ediciones.
- Unificación de Criterios en Ban Lists: Sincronizar las listas de cartas prohibidas de forma proporcional a los formatos de referencia en el juego físico.

Incentivos y Sostenibilidad para la Corporación
Entendiendo que debe existir un equilibrio financiero, esta propuesta incluye ventajas para la empresa:
- Valorización del Arte Especial: Aquellas cartas con ilustraciones especiales (borderless, retro, anime, etc.) mantendrán su estatus de rareza máxima y solo podrán ser adquiridas mediante comodines míticos, justificando así el trabajo adicional de los equipos de ilustración y desarrollo.
- Gestión de Cartas Restringidas: Todas las cartas que formen parte de una lista de restringidas en cualquier formato deberán adquirirse exclusivamente con comodines míticos, dada su jerarquía de poder y su impacto en el juego.
- Política de No Reembolso Monetario: Las compras de comodines mediante dinero real o gemas en la tienda no estarán sujetas a devolución; el resarcimiento al usuario se limitará exclusivamente al ajuste de la economía de comodines por disparidad de rarezas mencionado anteriormente.

BUG - Consumed by History not properly granting unearth if the creature is brought back by Scintillating Encore or a similar effect

Consumed by History did not properly grant unearth when my Spirit Mascot was brought back by Scintillating Encore. The creature was correctly brought back with perpetual +2/+0, but when it died on a later turn it did not have the perpetual unearth 5 that it should have had. Scintillating Encore is not a replacement effect, so my understanding is that the creature should have had unearth perpetually, which I could have used on later turns.

Steps to reproduce:
1. play a nontoken creature with 3 or less toughness
2. cast Scintillating Encore on the creature
3. after Scintillating Encore has resolved, cast Consumed by History

Platform: PC

Actual Results:
The creature is brought back with perpetual +2/+0, but does not have perpetual unearth 5. It does not have perpetual unearth 5 if you hover over the creature while it is still on the battlefield, and also does not have unearth 5 when it is in the graveyard after being destroyed later.

Expected results:
The creature should return to the battlefield with +2/+0, but should also have the unearth 5 keyword when you hover over the card. When the creature is destroyed on a later turn, it should still have unearth 5, and I should be able to use the unearth ability from my graveyard.

Workaround: no relevant workaround

This occurred in a premier alchemy draft event.

Consumed by History did not properly grant unearth when my Spirit Mascot was brought back by Scintillating Encore. The creature was correctly brought back with perpetual +2/+0, but when it died on a later turn it did not have the perpetual unearth 5 that it should have had. Scintillating Encore is not a replacement effect, so my understanding is that the creature should have had unearth perpetually, which I could have used on later turns.

Main deck cards blocked during Best Of 3 matches

Hi everyone.
Thank you so much for your support.
Unfortunately, I have to reach out to you because, since the last update, I haven’t been able to play Best of Three with my Alchemy decks set up for this format and number of games – and that’s exactly what I’d have liked to do in these rounds to climb the Mythic rankings.
Unfortunately, the game doesn’t let me access the sideboard between matches. Androids and PC windows is the same situation...
Let me explain: the sideboard cards are clickable and I could add them to the main deck, but the main deck cards are never clickable, as if they didn’t exist, so I can’t remove them and move them to the sideboard.
I can only add cards, as I can’t remove anything from the main deck, which inevitably means I end up with more than 60 cards, and that makes no sense.
What’s more, even the side deck cards, once added to the main deck, are no longer clickable and remain trapped and locked there.
I’ve already run an internal debug of Arena, and the problem occurs in both Play and Ranked modes, whether I have card styles enabled or not, and with both old and new decks.
This is causing me a lot of problems for the end-of-month Ranked event.
I hope you can resolve this very soon so I can try to reach at least top 1250 or better.

Thoughts on Rebalancing Non-Digital Cards in Historic and a Proposal for Restrictions and Controlled Unbans

I’d like to share some constructive feedback regarding the current approach to rebalancing cards in Historic, particularly when it comes to non-digital (printed) cards.

I’ve been playing Historic on MTG Arena since its very beginning, and a big part of my enjoyment comes from constant deckbuilding and testing. I like exploring the full card pool while still aiming for competitive, well-tuned decks. From that perspective, I genuinely believe Historic is a great format — but also one that could be even better with a few structural changes and a more confident use of the tools that a digital-only environment allows.

Rebalancing non-digital cards: a solution that adds friction over time

Digital rebalancing made a lot of sense as an initial experiment, and it still does when applied to Alchemy or fully digital designs. However, over time it has become clear — at least from my experience — that applying rebalances to iconic, non-digital cards creates unnecessary confusion and frustration.

Cards such as:

Agent of Treachery

Orcish Bowmasters

Teferi, Time Raveler

Omnath, Locus of Creation

Alrund’s Epiphany

The One Ring

are just a few examples of printed, highly iconic cards that now exist in modified digital versions within Historic. This fragments player expectations, complicates deck evaluation, and makes the format harder to approach and reason about — especially when moving between formats or discussing card power in general.

I want to stress that these are representative examples, not an exhaustive list. My feedback applies to all non-digital cards that are currently rebalanced in Historic.

Wizards already took a step in this direction

Importantly, this isn’t just theoretical. A few months ago, Wizards already moved away from this philosophy by restoring The Meathook Massacre and Fires of Invention to their original versions and handling them through bans instead of rebalances.

That decision felt like a very positive correction, and to me it strongly suggests that the team already recognizes the long-term issues caused by rebalancing printed cards. My proposal is simply to continue consistently along that same path with the rest of the affected cards.

A cleaner alternative: original versions, bans, and restrictions

Rather than rebalancing non-digital cards, I believe Historic would benefit from a clearer and more coherent approach:

Use original printed versions of non-digital cards.

Ban cards when they are truly unhealthy for the format.

Introduce restrictions (1 copy per deck), similar to Timeless, as an intermediate and very powerful tool.

Restricting a card preserves its identity and excitement while preventing repetitive or broken synergies. It encourages more diverse deckbuilding and avoids the binary “playable vs unplayable” outcome that bans often create.

Personally, I think this restriction model could be valuable not only for Historic, but potentially as an experimental tool in other formats as well.

Encouraging controlled unbans and experimentation

In the same spirit, I’d also like to encourage re-evaluating long-banned cards. Historic has changed dramatically over time, and the card pool now includes many more answers and interaction points than when some bans were originally issued.

Cards such as:

Field of the Dead

Memory Lapse

Uro, Titan of Nature’s Wrath

Veil of Summer

(and others) could potentially be reintroduced under close monitoring, with the understanding that they can be quickly banned again if they prove problematic.

The key point is not that all of these cards must remain legal, but that there should be less fear around testing and adjusting.

Closing thoughts

Historic is uniquely positioned as a digital-only format. That flexibility is one of its greatest strengths. Leaning into experimentation, being willing to make changes — and even to correct them shortly after if needed — would, in my opinion, bring far more benefits than risks.

Some issues are inevitable whenever changes are made, but the long-term gains in clarity, consistency, and player trust seem well worth it.

Alchemy Card "Tend to the Kiln" is bugged. It didn't turn my instants into kindred -Elemental cards but only kindred and therefore not triggering the enchantment's second ability at cast.

Game freezes after sacrificing an artifact after update

Beginning today, 02/24/2026, after the update, the game client freezes when sacrificing an artifact. Priority appears to stick to the active player until the timer runs out. I have found this ito be reproducible with Clue tokens, map tokens, and Chandra, spark hunter.

This does render the game unplayable due to how common these effects are and the frequency it happens.

Game crashes on Android before dies trigger

During a game, whenever a creature dying causes a trigger, the game freezes on Android and I can not keep playing. Issue is reproducible.

Game freezing

Game keeps freezing mid match after today's multiple downloads (4 separate downloads to be exact). Do your devs really suck so bad that they **** up the game literally EVERY time you come out with a new update?? Be better.

Clue token sacrifice crashe game

On my iPad, when I play Arena MTG. When and opponent sacrifice a clue token, my timer runs out. I can still use the text speech, and click on other stuff, but nothing happens that register that I have resolved my opponent sacrificing the clue token. I cannot play anymore and automatically loses

Mythic Rank Has Been Reset to Sparky Zero

Hello,

I'm on PC, WIn 11, and my Mythic Rank has been reset to Sparky Zero.
My daily quest and Daily wins are not being added to their respective counters.

This also means I do not get XP for the Mastery Pass I paid for.

Unable to select cards during sideboarding

During a Best of 3 Standard match, I was unable to select cards from my sideboard between games. The cards were visible, and I was able to select cards in my deck, including incrementing and decrementing them. Hovering over cards in the sideboard also did not display larger versions of the cards. Hovering over cards next to the scroll arrows worked, but they were the only ones. The matches I played before it on the same day did not have this issue. Closing and reopening the client did not resolve the issue for the next round of sideboarding.

Game Freeze

Android

During matches the game "freezes". You are still able to interact with the cards to pull up the detailed view, look at graveyards, hands, send and receive emotes, etc. The timer will still run down but the game will not resolve anything. This usually happens during the damage step but does happen otherwise. Even if the timer for either player runs out the game won't even make a player concede.

Can’t sideboard

Sideboard is not working on apple phones. Have lost many games and ranking by trying to sideboard and it will allow me to add cards but can’t remove any whether they were In main deck or sideboard.
