1. Broken shuffler

   The shuffler is not shuffling randomly. Several games in a row I’m drawing all of the same card. Maybe ask a poker game developer for help with programming on this if it’s beyond your skill set.

2. WOTC DOESN'T CARE ABOUT THE SHUFFLER

   The complaints about the shuffler will go nowhere. They do not care about gameplay. In BETA the shuffler was a constant issue in the forum ( before WOTC closed them because they do not care). The official response of WOTC was " Since both players are exposed to the same shuffler, they have the same experience, therefore, nothing is wrong" The DO NOT CARE about gameplay, game experience, game economy or game mechanics. The DO CARE about MONEY!!!!. Thats all there is to it - they will keep draining the pockets of the idiots that spend real money on worthless pixel products.

3. shuffler is ****

   Obviously WOTC doesn't give a rats **** about anything other than fleecing the mental midgets that actually spend real money for this worthless pixel product. The forced 50% win rate is a joke - the shuffler is beyond broken, matchmaking is also just pathetic. The whole game is worse than online slot machines. I cannot believe there are so many people who spend money on this garbage. I guess thats why Trump was elected as well - so many stupid people so little time to fleece them. No one from the company actually reads these anyway, they closed down the actual forum years ago and just ignore anything here.    I'm tired of seeing garbage hands and draws every game while my opponents always draw perfectly. If the shuffler was fair my opponents should have to mulligan down to 5 most of the time.

5. Matchmaking/Shuffler

   Unrig the matchmaking and the shuffler. How is it I can make it to diamond tier 2 with relatively no issues, yet once I get there it’s win/loss/win/loss/win/loss, and often fueled by a terrible starting hand, and terrible mulligans. If I have 2 lands in hand, and all of my few high drops, why when I mulligan am I getting 1 land and high drops? Why are you trying to make people think they need to spend money on the game to do well? Maybe if you made matchmaking and the shuffler fair, we would want to. Yet we have to deal with things like this. And then there’s the people using hack tools to have hand/draw/deck manipulators that you never ban. Why is it my opponents stare at their hand, then nothing for about 30 seconds, and then suddenly have a response? This is absolute predatory garbage from a multibillion dollar company and you should be ashamed.

   Once again, shuffler is awful. Played 2 games. Had 8 lands in 10 cards. And 9 lands in 13 cards. I think I'm done playing this game.

7. Random Shuffler

   I was playing Arena today, I play and enjoy the game A LOT. I mean no disrespect by this post I just would like an explanation.

   So I usually just play historic casual matches. But lately (past week or two) Ive been getting into games where the opponent concedes immediately, or they are AFK and the timer forces them to concede. Like 9/10 they would concede before the first card is even played.

   So I decided to try ranked, to see if there was less of that going on.

   (I play life gain mainly. Its a 60 card custom deck with 24 lands and 36 creatures/artifacts/enchantments)

   We start no problems, by mid game we were both at or above 20 life. My opponent plays a “destroy all creatures” sorcery. At this point im thinking “oh well, we both start at 0 again”

   Its my turn now and I draw a 1 mana drop creature. Fine. I play it. Mind you there are only 5 plains under my control. (My highest casting card is 3 mana) I pass turn and my opponent draws a bigger creature (4/4 with a bunch of abilities/triggered abilities) fine. Luck of the draw I guess.

   Its my turn again and I draw a land. I play it.

   Its his turn again and he draws another big creature. Fine. Luck of the draw.

   Except. I drew. And im not exaggerating here. 10 consecutive. Back to back lands.

   I ended up losing because I couldn’t get any creatures out if my 30 total creatures in the deck. And thats fine, cannot win them all, oh well.

   BUT i crunched some numbers and double and triple checked my math. (Even used AI to calculate the same number)

   So in a 60 card deck. Containing 24 lands and 36 “other” cards. The probability of me drawing 10 CONSECUTIVE lands is this

   0.0000022%.

   Gemini (Googles AI) said and I quote “this is an extremely low probability and can almost be categorized as impossible.”

   Ive run into this issue multiple times. As have many of you in sure. I know my friends have.

   You build a deck. with an outstanding land to creature ratio. And you either end up drawing too much land. Or too many creatures.

   And the funny thing is, it usually happens after about 5-6 back to back wins. Its like the more you win, the higher likelihood of your deck being stacked against you.

   I did some digging and tried to see if WOTC had made an announcement regarding their random shuffler and how it determines what you draw. And as you could imagine, theres nothing. I understand why, I was just hoping for at least a “yes, our card shuffler is 100% randomized by a RNG.” Or something along those lines from WOTC. But theres nothing. It almost feels like its one of those “ plausible deniability” situations. Like oh, we never said it was random so no harm done.

   But its people like me, and possibly people like you who are getting screwed by this. Ive been playing Magic a long time. Tabletop and digital. I know how to optimize decks. In table top. I have a life gain deck (similar to my digital deck) that is almost a 90% win chance. Because I have 4 of each creature/enchantment/artifacts that gain life constantly and consistently. I never have this issue.

   I winder if they have a line of code somewhere that stacks the deck against people on a win streak. To keep the other people who may have been losing a bunch, happy.

   Which is a very bad way of going about it IMO. People need to learn from why they are losing instead of just giving up. So encourage that! Stop being so stingy with wildcards? Would that help? Let people not have to grind so dang much for a single rare wildcard? To get a card that will improve their experience 10 fold.

   This “random shuffler” doesn't seem to be random. Im going to take more data and use a very. Very. Large sample size. Its going to take some time but im willing to put in the work.

   Just to be absolutely 100% clear here.

   I will be taking notes and taking data in new notebooks and will IN NO WAY use any scripts or code on my computer. Ive read the terms of services and I know thats a big ol no no. So Ill do it on paper and save the data. Im actually looking forward to this because I like investigating things of this nature. More to come.

   what the **** is wrong with you twits, I have managed to bring in a few friends to the game and because of you " genius " hand smoothing idea they keep quitting. You say its only until they move on to best of 3 but when they don't make past the first few games because the draws are all mana or no mana how does that work? Another good reason to get rid of the stupid shuffler is hand smoothing could be argued that the clause in your ToS should be null and voided because you have changed the scope of the game to the point that it's no longer the same game that it was agreed to. You put in an exploit to push mono aggro decks and are pushing the game to be done by turn 5 , this is not MTG , MTG was built upon epic level game play and you are removing that aspect. Why change what made the game what it is? why do you want to alienate the players that have been with you since the beginning. Remember most of us were the nerds that grew up to the higher paying jobs and have the disposable income , not the whiny crowd that are coming because of the exploit , they will cut and run as soon as you balance things out and are not likely to spend much.

   I have a super crazy idea. How about instead of favoriting brain dead retards who spend money on the free to play game, we make the shuffler actually random? I pray to god the devs for this game get hit by a car and get brain damage to the point they can only play mono red for the rest of their lives. ******** scum of the earth devs. Look at my last 3 games and tell me there was ANYTHING I could do against this scheduled loss.....

10. Fix the shuffler 12

    Mythic ranked, deck with 18 lands 21 creatures 21 spells,used fugitive codebreaker to draw extra 3 cards on turn 4, by next draw i had seen 8 lands and 7 non lands in total. wtf is this ****. Literall impossible odds that would never happen in real magic, fix the shuffler this is why arena is dying.

11. shuffler nonsense

    I'm so tired of losing by shuffler in paid events.I just lost 2 games in a row, beautiful hand 3 land and go both games without drawing land, 8-9 rounds .This doesnt happen in table top. Only when u dont shuffle and just sweep and play.put in parameters where there is no mana clumps and u are garanteed to draw a land in first few rounds. Do something. I lose games way to much for shuffler. If i didnt have to pay to play I couldn't really say anything but when I pay to play and the game outright makes u lose it is ridiculous.I have complained before and am complaining again. I cant tell you how many times I get starved for mana first 6-7 rounds and then draw all lands for the rest of the game when you manage to finaly play out your hand. Freaquntly you end up mana flooded or hosed.play with land numbers and it doesnt really matter. I use 16-17 mana depending on curve. This is way higher than i use in tabletop, i use 15 in table top and dont have any probs. You are constantly getting one in a million hands where u say to yourself, what the heck is up with this @#$%?. I have played easily played over 10k tabletop games and never have i experienced the messedd up pull like on arena. I started playing and collecting in revised.

12. fix shuffler number 8

    Running deck with 18 lands, 21 creatures, 21 non creature spells. started hand with 2 land 4 creatures. proceeded to draw 3 lands. making the total cards seen by turn 4 5 lands 4 creatures 2 non creatures. Odds are extremely off from 1:3 deck ratio. Fix the shuffler, this is why arena is dying

13. Rigged shuffler

    So an analog paper card shuffler thats 100% random (without clumping and Hastarded manipulations) can demonstrate how 22 mana could run a healthy deck with a mana curve of 4.That said, somehow 24 is needed for a mana curve apparently of 2-3.So offset,and with that data accrued it makes sense for this ****** fish barrel for whales.
    I thought of going for the championship by spending the time to play that long everyday but if I did that it would only be so I could go live and in the middle of playing point out all this BS.
    Anyhow someone should do it,just as someone should hack it and give out to everyone cards,gold and gems.
    2 cards per mana + 1, was and still is a golden rule.

14. Fix the shuffler

    Unrig the shuffler. There is absolutely no reason and no real world chance of me drawing 9 or more of my 22 lands in a 70 card deck. You rig the game against people that don’t pay to play. All of this has been proven through game data collection. Stop trying to force people to play money to have fun. We can easily uninstall and never play again.

    Your shuffler is comically rigged. I’m coming off roughly fifteen games in a row where I never saw a 4th land in a 23 land deck. It isn’t subtle, it is reducing the quality of the game, and it further damages your company’s already tarnished reputation. Outright forcing wins and losses defeats the purpose of playing. I know player satisfaction doesn’t matter to you, only money does, so I will speak your language. 16. Match making and the shuffler

    I like mtga but I feel that the program is rigging matches. Im tired of drawing 2 lands every game. My hands are either mana flooded or mana screwed. I don't even try using a mulligan anymore because I either get screwed harder or flooded. For some reason I get flooded or screwed hard against mono red. I noticed that most of my lost games have been because of this. I understand that no hand is perfect but I NEVER had an issue this consistent in paper magic. Please stop rigging our ranked matches. Or please fix your shuffler. Mtga is starting to feel unplayable because of this.

    How bout y'all make your shuffler better?? Consistently losing in standard because I get land 4 or 5 turns in a row is insane. Or starting with two lands, having to mulligan, and being rewarded with even less land and have to put a card back??!!! What the **** guys?

18. Your shuffler is bad

    It’s bad. It’s not good. It isn’t random; it tries to enforce fairness leading to patterns leading to lack of fairness. Please introduce true randomness to the shuffler. Because again, the one you have isn’t good. Happy to provide more thorough details about my experience if you have questions.

    As it stands, arena isn’t a game of me versus another person it’s a game of me versus how do I get not too many lands or not to few lands. The shuffler’s land priority grab is not helping. Go back to random.

19. You need to fix the shuffler

    Please fix the shuffler!!! I just played 3 straight games in standard with a deck that has a 40/20 split and in each game I drew 7+ lands in the first 6-8 turns. That's a 50% rate and absolutely unrealistic. The thing is busted and makes the game absolutely impossible to enjoy.

20. fix shuffler, keeps ******* me with unbelievable odds

    using a deck with 18 lands, 21 creatures, and 21 non creatures. mana curve 1.4, i keep on loosing matches due to shuffler ******* me. We want to play magic not bend over for the shuffler.
    This match, half the total cards i saw in the game were lands. no way in **** that is possible using an 18 land deck.
    This is why arena is dying, fix it
