1. Matches freezing mid-game

   Since the last update on February 24th, I've been having trouble playing. Matches constantly freeze mid-action, making it impossible to continue. I must have tried playing around 10 matches today, and this happened in 4 of them. This occurred in both standard ranked matches and duels with starter decks. I tried disconnecting from the game and rejoining the match twice on one occasion, but I remained frozen (it wasn't an internet outage, as the opponent continued to communicate). It might not be very important, but I'm sending screenshots from 3 different occasions where this happened. And if it is important, I'm playing on a Samsung Galaxy A32 (until February 23rd I played perfectly).

2. Tutorial repetition

   Each time I opened the home page, the tutorial flashed. Informing me that we are able to gain reward after meeting its request. And then it disappeared without any guidance. I'm sure that I have passed all tutorial. Unfortunately, I failed to start a dual in PC since the tutorial appeared. I failed to enter any game since the annoying tutorial flashed in the home page!

3. Games just wont start

   Either just never get into the game or if I do it stops when one of us is trying to keep or mulligan hands. Can't concede, timer starts for me or opponent but never ends the game just runs out and sits there. This is a bit absurd.

4. not getting daily quest

   I have been playing for two weeks now and have not got a single daily quest so far. The timer expires and nothing happens. Wotc support havent done anything about my ticket regarding this matter, btw.

   Thoughts on Rebalancing Non-Digital Cards in Historic and a Proposal for Restrictions and Controlled Unbans

   I’d like to share some constructive feedback regarding the current approach to rebalancing cards in Historic, particularly when it comes to non-digital (printed) cards.

   I’ve been playing Historic on MTG Arena since its very beginning, and a big part of my enjoyment comes from constant deckbuilding and testing. I like exploring the full card pool while still aiming for competitive, well-tuned decks. From that perspective, I genuinely believe Historic is a great format — but also one that could be even better with a few structural changes and a more confident use of the tools that a digital-only environment allows.

   Rebalancing non-digital cards: a solution that adds friction over time

   Digital rebalancing made a lot of sense as an initial experiment, and it still does when applied to Alchemy or fully digital designs. However, over time it has become clear — at least from my experience — that applying rebalances to iconic, non-digital cards creates unnecessary confusion and frustration.

   Cards such as:

   Agent of Treachery

   Orcish Bowmasters

   Teferi, Time Raveler

   Omnath, Locus of Creation

   Alrund’s Epiphany

   The One Ring

   are just a few examples of printed, highly iconic cards that now exist in modified digital versions within Historic. This fragments player expectations, complicates deck evaluation, and makes the format harder to approach and reason about — especially when moving between formats or discussing card power in general.

   I want to stress that these are representative examples, not an exhaustive list. My feedback applies to all non-digital cards that are currently rebalanced in Historic.

   Wizards already took a step in this direction

   Importantly, this isn’t just theoretical. A few months ago, Wizards already moved away from this philosophy by restoring The Meathook Massacre and Fires of Invention to their original versions and handling them through bans instead of rebalances.

   That decision felt like a very positive correction, and to me it strongly suggests that the team already recognizes the long-term issues caused by rebalancing printed cards. My proposal is simply to continue consistently along that same path with the rest of the affected cards.

   A cleaner alternative: original versions, bans, and restrictions

   Rather than rebalancing non-digital cards, I believe Historic would benefit from a clearer and more coherent approach:

   Use original printed versions of non-digital cards.

   Ban cards when they are truly unhealthy for the format.

   Introduce restrictions (1 copy per deck), similar to Timeless, as an intermediate and very powerful tool.

   Restricting a card preserves its identity and excitement while preventing repetitive or broken synergies. It encourages more diverse deckbuilding and avoids the binary “playable vs unplayable” outcome that bans often create.

   Personally, I think this restriction model could be valuable not only for Historic, but potentially as an experimental tool in other formats as well.

   Encouraging controlled unbans and experimentation

   In the same spirit, I’d also like to encourage re-evaluating long-banned cards. Historic has changed dramatically over time, and the card pool now includes many more answers and interaction points than when some bans were originally issued.

   Cards such as:

   Field of the Dead

   Memory Lapse

   Uro, Titan of Nature’s Wrath

   Veil of Summer

   (and others) could potentially be reintroduced under close monitoring, with the understanding that they can be quickly banned again if they prove problematic.

   The key point is not that all of these cards must remain legal, but that there should be less fear around testing and adjusting.

   Closing thoughts

   Historic is uniquely positioned as a digital-only format. That flexibility is one of its greatest strengths. Leaning into experimentation, being willing to make changes — and even to correct them shortly after if needed — would, in my opinion, bring far more benefits than risks.

   Some issues are inevitable whenever changes are made, but the long-term gains in clarity, consistency, and player trust seem well worth it.

6. Importing Japanese deck lists may result in the registration of invalid OM1 (SPM) cards.

   When importing a Japanese decklist into MTGA with a language setting other than Japanese, it appears that OM1 (SPM) cards do not import correctly.

   At least, this issue does not occur when importing a Japanese decklist into MTGA with Japanese language settings, or when importing an English decklist into MTGA with Japanese language settings.

   While not fully verified, for example, importing a Japanese decklist into an English-language MTGA registers “Superior Spider-Man (SPM) 155” as “Symbiote Spider-Man (SPM) 156”.
   Additionally, “Symbiotic Spider-Man (SPM) 156” is registered as “Tearle, Entropic Hunger (SPM) 137”.

7. Can’t enter battles

   I click to enter a battle and nothing happens. The timer keeps running up, it says waiting for opponent, the screen never changes It will let me cancel out of it. This has been happening since 330 pm est. I’ve checked for app updates and restarted both the app and my iPad.

9. Auto tapper choosing to kill you over using a Treasure

   I had a situation where the auto tapper killed me in Powered Cube. Board state:

   I had a Hullbreacher and seven Treasure tokens out while at 1 life. My opponent had no nonland permanents apart fom a Talisman.

   I had a Mana Confluence and six lands, and went to cast an Ugin, Eye of the Storms. Auto Tapper chose to use Mana Confluence over using one of my Treasures.

   Issues here:

   1) Obviously, auto tapper should not tap Mana Confluence while I was at 1 life instead of using a Treasure.
   2) If auto tapper wants to tap a land in such a way that my life total would go to 0, it should display a very clear warning that doing so will result in going to 0 life. This might be easier to detect with 'pay life' effects rather than 'deals 1 damage to you' effects, but either should be detected.

10. Daily quest doesn't light up and my wins doesn't count too

    Being playing a couple of games I noticed my wins don't count trying to make it to 15 wins for the daily wins. Got stuck at 14, then the reset came played no counts still for both the wins and daily quest casts.

11. I won a Match in Premier Draft and got a Match win and a loss at the same time

    I played a Premier draft lorwyn eclipsed. Befor joining the match my standing was 1-2. I won the Match, got asked if I had fun. I klicked the happy smiley. After that I got a win and a loss at the same time. Being 2-3 the draft ended.

12. Make Quitting a Game Only Available On Your Own Turn

    Quitting a match should only be allowed at the beginning of your own main phase.

    Since achievements and challenges are a thing, some of them are extremely difficult to do because opponents just quit in the middle of a build up or as soon as they realize they are going to lose. Quitting during your own turn would at least allow a person to finish out how their deck will work and complete challenges.

    It's extremely annoying when the task is attack with 5 creatures you just brought out this turn, when I set it up bring out at least 5 creatures and waiting to press the attack button, the opponent just quits. I have been trying for at least 15 matches now, where either I don't draw the correct combo or when I do, the opponent just quits.

    At least let a person finish out the turn.

13. Bought a Foundations Deck and it won't work

    Bought the Auntie Ool Foundations Brawl Deck. The deck shows with an incomplete error and I can't play it. Almost all cards are "not owned". I got a message with 3 cards in it, but the deck still won't work.

15. Systems are not "operational"

    For a company that gets as much income as yours it is shocking that you cant even get your status page to properly reflect the games status - matchmaking is down. And it is a repeated "suggestion" here that the status page shows nothing of any worth.

16. [TMNT] Kitsune, Dragon's Daughter ability is a *MAY*

    Kitsune, Dragon's Daughter ability is a MAY !!!!!!!! if so it should give the option to choose none (or submit 0) but it is not the case in MTG Arena TMNT. I had to leave the timer pass so it will choose none by default LOL

17. Games Start Without Options, End Up Timing Out

    When trying to play a game of standard on iPad, I get matched with an opponent and sometimes get to select my hand, but then don’t receive any further prompts. After some time, the timeout clock shows up and eventually runs out, but I still never get to act. Once the timer runs out, there isn’t any further visual indicator, and the game does not end.
    I’ve tried starting a few games today and haven’t been able to get to the point of being able to play cards yet.

19. Genemorph Imago + Harmonizer triggers

    The system puts the landfall triggers in the wrong order for those two creatures. It is almost always optimal to have the imago trigger resolve first, making it's base power higher, then have the mightform trigger double the power after it has been modified.

20. bug with a chips

    The bug happens inside the app when I am using a chip deck and end up creating a very large number of chips — by that I mean more than 200 chips. When this happens, the app simply freezes, shows a message saying it is trying to contact support (or something similar that I don’t remember exactly), and then closes. The game does not register my winnings, even though I was winning and everything was going fine. The app just closes unexpectedly. This is a bug and it has happened more than once.
