2 land cards out of 25 cards dealt. 25 land deck.
Set a minimum land card per starting hand to 2 or 3.25 votes -
My initial starting hand in every game is inconsistent and I think the deck shuffling and hand dealing is unrealistic.
I have 25 creatures in my deck, only 21 noncreature spells and 29 land. Every game I have played lately I am always getting like 3-4 noncreature spells and only 1-2 or sometimes 0 creatures in my initial hand. I am also hardly seeing creatures in my initial hand that I have 4 of in my deck but am always seeing noncreature spells that I only have 1-3 of and am getting duplicates or multiples of those spells in my opening hand. It just seems very unrealistic and inconsistent (the shuffling mechanism isn't randomising enough perhaps?) It is just very frustrating when I want to play certain creature spells but am ALWAYS getting too many noncreature spells in my opening hand when I have more creatures in my deck. My land ratio seems to be OK. Maybe others have this problem too but it's with different types of cards. I just think the deck shuffling/randomising and dealing mechanism needs fine tuning. Thanks!

Mana ***** / Mana Flood emote
I guess the shuffler is fine, but I sometimes win due to an opponent flooding or getting mana-screwed. Sometimes I'm the one stuck on no or all lands for 5 turns.
I wish I could emote this issue and that my opponent could answer "sorry!" as a respone.
We're not really playing magic when this happens, we're giving away a win due to the fickle whims of the RNG.
I wish to emote this, to convey my frustration or express my sympathy.42 votes -
Mythic booster

Disable enemy card hovering
Do you approve of the annoyance caused by an opponent constantly swirling there mouse over cards and highlighting / flashing / whatever you call it?
The feature has no value in the game.
Please add a switch to DISABLE MOUSE OVER FUNCTION that causes card animation.49 votes -

Brawl Ranked/Brawl Bot Match
In my opinion people who like to play just to win should stick to competitive formats. Brawl is my Format of choice and it is really frustrating sometimes to see competitive decks every other match. Having a ranked brawl would make people have more fun in the Casual Brawl because they would actually be able to play the game to play the game and have fun. With so many people copying competitive decks it is hard for the people that just like creating there own decks to see if the decks actually work because you cant do Bot Matches with brawl decks.

Daily Wins are breaking the health of your play queue and driving people away
The behavior of players around the 15 daily wins is turning the Standard Play queues into one of the most toxic queues in the game. You know there is a problem when the common wisdom of the game is "just play Ranked, you'll have an easier time." This stems Directly from the 15 Daily Wins quest. People seeking fast wins pile into Standard queue and grab fast aggro decks that win in 3-5 turns. However, that isn't all. Because the nature of the queue is fast games there are many players that opt for forcing a fast surrender. Roping every turn to make the game take longer is incentivized as well. If you can convince the other player to surrender and move on in a few turns then you have succeeded. It creates a zero sum situation, where the only way to play the queue is for everyone to be a troll. This includes having a deck Entirely made of removal so that neither player plays a single card and the field remains completely empty for 40 minutes as you slowly draw out your decks. Even trick decks like Tibalt's with low win rates, the point is to force a surrender early, by having a toxic deck that people recognize and immediately surrender in order to move on. It means there is no queue to test a new deck on. At least no queue to test decks on that isn't Aggro or Surrender decks.
15 wins also breaks one of the cool things about MTG. Long games. Some of the best games are the ones that can go over an hour, but with 15 wins as the goal, why would anyone spend that long? Better to surrender and keep grinding.
Then it also makes the game very anti-social. Which is to the Serious detriment of the game. You don’t have friends on MTGA, you don’t need them. You won’t play with them. You can’t get daily wins from playing with them, and you need those wins to get the coins to get the cards to build more decks. It literally disincentivizes even playing with friends at all.
This is creating a really toxic environment throughout the game that is steadily driving away both free-to-play and paying players. I've personally spent quite a bit on this game already, and this may be my last "season" as over the 4 months of playing, nearly every night I have finished my session frustrated and angry. And not because I feel like I'm "bad" at the game, but because I've had to spend a Lot of time grinding out a final few wins. I have spent Hours getting two wins, and it's simply because the draw didn't favor me. My aggro deck didn't get off the ground fast enough, or the other person drew a lucky card and was able to turn the tables once I was out of gas. For Play queue, there really isn't another answer other than queue back up and hope you have a better hand. I started out four months ago, and at the time I talked to a few friends to play this with them. Most of them dropped it within a week, citing the 15 daily wins as too much of a problem. I'm a stubborn person, so I wanted to keep pushing, I had also spent money and wanted to see some return on my investment. However I am also reaching the end of my rope with this game. 15 wins is just too much, it drives new players away from the game.
Now, there is a Very simple solution here. 5 Daily wins, then take the rewards from the other 10 and spread them out into a 35 Weekly wins setup. 5 wins will average around an hour a day, which is reasonable for “warming up” and allows for space to do other things, like play with friends or toy with the other queues for a bit. With 35 weekly then, you can be pretty sure you will clear that each week without too much trouble (5 times 7 is 35, so clearing the daily wins will net the weekly rewards by the end of the week.) It’s a very simple change, could be even better if wins against friends counted. Sure some will just trade wins quickly to get the wins out of the way, but most will just take the opportunity to play each other and have fun doing so.
If you really want to solve this though, I think you could remove the daily wins entirely and do more of a quest board. Every three months you release a new set. Have each of these sets release with a quest board that gives you rewards for playing (and/or) winning with different cards or combinations. Make players explore and truly "master" the sets as they are released. Players have three months to complete as much of the board as they can. This can be as broad as picking certain color themes or specific core cards, and having players win x number of games with them (over three months, so much less pressure) or as specific as having each card in the set have its own quest for winning a handful of games using that card.
The second option there would be a double hitter, incentivizing creative deck building, diversifying decks being played and removing the incentives for trolling. This game is so close to being a good introduction, its just falling at the finish line.
The other Big problem is the Wildcard system. What ends up happening is that players build up hundreds of Common, Uncommon and Mythic Rare Wildcards, while having 0 Rare Wildcards. Largely because decks rely Heavily on Rare cards. And what ends up happening is those Mythic Rare drops that are handed to you feel more like a punishment than a reward. What the **** am I going to do with my 30th Mythic Rare Wildcard while I’m still at 5 Rares and need 40 of them for this deck I want?
Again, simple solutions are present. The simplest would be to remove the current Wildcard system and turn Wildcards into a number value. Common become worth 2, Uncommon 4, Rare 8, and Mythic Rare 16. That number value then can be spent to purchase any card. You can even play with the purchase value, being kinder with buying a Common needing only 1 point, and a Mythic only 8, or meaner with buying a common set to 4 points, and Mythic 32. Or anywhere in between. But with a number value, now every Wildcard is valuable, and those Mythic Drops feel good, because that could be enough to put you over the value of the deck you want to build.
Further on this note, Why The **** do you not get a Rare or Mythic Rare Wildcard for drafting a 5th copy of a rare card in Limited? That is an absolutely Disgusting practice. When I found out that I wasn't getting Rare and Mythic rare wild cards from rare drafting I nearly quit right on that one. I understand turning Common and Uncommon into "Vault Progress" you get so many of them in draft. But if a player wants to Weaken their chances of winning the draft by Rare drafting, the least you can do is give them an extra wildcard for their efforts. What the **** is wrong with you guys? Do you want a sustainable player base to milk whales or not?

Matchmaking Terrible
I have been spending this season testing your matchmaking system.
I got to Mythic my first month playing this game. After that, I could barely win a game in platinum and I wanted to understand why. So I made all the "meta" decks.
First I started with Mono-green, which gets beat pretty bad to Mid range Orzhov. I played 6 games and got Orzhov for 5 of them.
So I decided to play the Orzhov deck for 6 games, and got Blue control (which I hadn't seen until playing Orzhov) for 4 out of the 6 games.
Then I went to mono white, and for 4 games in a row after winning my first one, I had mirror matches.
I did this many more times with many more decks, and it is ALWAYS the same. I have to play decks that are difficult for the one I am playing. At least a "good match", which is not realistic.
Moral of this story, dumb saps like me spend money on this game, but the matchmaking has recently taken the fun out of the game. This is the best way to lose patrons.
Why can it not be rated on LEVEL or a random matchmaking?

Historic Pauper!
An Open Letter to WOTC and the MTG Arena team
Hello!
I just wanted to write in on behalf of myself and the Historic Pauper community (I'm a moderator in a Historic Pauper Discord server and have been staff/the organizer for approximately half of the Historic Pauper events on MTG Melee) to say that we loved the FNM event. Many of us have played hundreds of games in official MTG Arena events while also playing hundreds (if not thousands) more in player run events or casual matches.
We are all looking forward to the next Historic Pauper event!
Cheers,
PlatypusJediP.S. I wanted to note that Ancestral Mask does reduce the number of viable decks in the format (this is magnified by it being Best of One as Hexproof creatures are even more difficult to deal with absent sideboards). I would recommend considering a ban in the official MTG Arena queues when they come around again. My server and other organizers have banned Ancestral Mask (in addition to your ban of Persistent Petitioners). This ban has led to a much more diverse metagame.

Basic Social Functions
Hey everyone! Long time Magic fan here - I think a HUGE weakness of Arena is that there are almost NO ways for me to onboard other people into the game or to maintain interest among friends. One of the reasons this game still exists in general is the social component of playing in paper which allows players to keep each other interested (and invested) in the game.
Here are some basic social functions that would give us ways to interact with friends and therefore maintain broader interest in the long term:
Friend people you meet
This is a basic way to let people start building that social component which can keep them coming back; why can't we make friends IN the game? Sometimes you play someone who is fun or you liked their play, why can't you choose to connect with them in any way? This makes the game feel empty and lonely."Well played" / "Nice deck", other more expressive emotes
It's insane that there's no way to commiserate with someone if they are having a rough draw. There's nothing you can really signal. If someone has a great deck you haven't seen, or makes a great play, why can't you complement them on it? It's so basic and I frequently wish I could have just this little extra bit of communication.Private player lobbies
Why is the only functionality for private games a single 1v1 match that's not even observable? The fan made website to play Netrunner (a card game with a much smaller community) lets you make lobbies and have people join as spectators. There is no way to interact with a group of friends on Arena, not at all.Spectator Mode
No brainer, and even beyond the social aspect of being able to involve more than one friend, this is just basic for the esports scene. It looks very unpolished to have at the official esports events a janky screenshare of the individual players (sometimes with issues too).Pod draft / sealed?
This is huge! You could sell so many more packs if people could play limited formats in a social way (with friends). This would be such an easy way to get friends into the game / maintain hype over the course of a year. You underestimate how many non magic regulars would pay to draft once just for a fun game night.2v2 / Two headed giant, etc.
Again, any way you can add to the game for players like me to involve more than one friend would be amazing.
There's much more social functionality to desire from Arena, the important thing to remember is that this has a very real long term impact on the community of a game. I want to get friends involved and experience the game with them, but I right now I can't do pretty much anything to that effect.
In the words of Tom Cruise in some movie "Help me help you"

Endless Loop turn timer interaction
1 - Endless loop by opponent using Heliod Sun crowned, Soul warden and Scurry Oak. I had 2 soul wardens and a Trelasarra Moon Dancer. So when opponent looped, it would double for me. No matter how fast i clicked done for the Trelasarra proc, it was using my turn and extra time counter, not the opponents, despite the action being his.
2. - PC
3. - My turn counter going down on his turn and my action despite not taking more than a second pressing done.
4. - It's his combo, why is my turn dropping first?14 votes -
Can't buy gems or welcome bundle in the Store, keep getting Temporary Error 2001
I have been trying to buy Welcome Bundle in the MTG Arena Store for days, but I keep getting temporary error 2001. I have tried contacting Xsolla, but haven't heard back from them for four days...
I am pretty sure problem is not with my credit card, since just today I bought a game from steam with the same card.
EDIT: I downloaded MTG arena to my android, and bought welcome bundle there. However, this does not fix the issue that I can't make purchases in my computer. This is just a workaround.

Improving bot matches
I would like to suggest a more diverse and challenging bot. Sometimes I want to test my deck or enjoy playing magic at my own pace and the current bot is disappointing. I don't think bot should be just for beginners.

Spell not cast and stuck on the stack
I attempted to cast a quandrix command in response to my opponents unburial rights. My spell went on to the stack, but my mana was never tapped. The spell was removed from my hand and was not placed in my graveyard. My opponent was able to resolve their spells and take game actions, despite my card being on the stack (and it would have removed legal targets for the unburial rights they resolved). Basically my card just disappeared and I wasn't able to use it. Attached screenshot shows the issue as Faithless Looting should not be on the stack above my spell. This happened on the PC version of Arena.
